Electrical installation and repair. Commercial and residential wiring.
The owner and his employees worked in a very knowledgeable, professional, punctual, and hard-working manner. They provided documentation of electrical licenses, etc. and the owner discussed the company's liability insurance with me. The owner met with me beforehand to discuss the nature of the work and provided a reasonable estimate of the work, even suggesting for me to prioritize the work in a list to potentially avoid additional days of work, for savings in labor costs. After comparison of Taylor Electrical Service's estimate with several other companies, I found their price to be fair and competitive, even potentially lower than some. Whenever I need electrical work performed in the future, I will be calling Taylor Electrical Services.
Description of Work: Electric panel upgrade from 100 amp to 200 amp, installation of several additional electrical lines and outlets, which included dedicated lines, replacement of several existing outlets with GFCI outlets, replacement of attic fan, check of several existing lines.

Taylor Electrical Service first came to our home to prepare an estimate of service. They were attentive to our concerns/questions and explained the work that would be done in detail. The estimate they gave us was detailed, easy to understand, and the work would be done at reasonable price. They were hired by us at that point. This company was easy to work with, they are punctual, and the electrical work they did was exceptional. A new electric box was installed, additional outlets were added to our garage, and also an electric box for a hot tub hookup. They found an existing problem during their work, we had a outdoor outlet that was not installed correctly, and they fixed it with ease. We were very happy with their work.
Description of Work: We purchased an outdated home that needed extensive electrical work. The electrical box had to be upgraded, new wiring and additional outlets were needed in our garage, and various other electrical jobs were needed to update our home.

I first use him a few years ago. He totally rewired a room in our house, which was the kitchen, that I use fixtures every time, he did the wiring and everything else, just a very nice job, very clean job, he's a very nice man. He's an accountant before he became a plumber, so that was very odd, but if you met him you'll probably think he's an accountant not a plumber. They are timely, excellent quality, very neat and clean, they definitely know what they're doing, step out of the way and let them do it.
Description of Work: Most recently, he replaced a circuit breaker that had gone bad, which is a very minor job, I could have done that myself if I knew exactly what it was, but he did.

Description of Work: "Mr. Taylor was contracted to give us a turn-key installation on a new propane generator. The job went along smoothly until he realized that he did not have the wherewithal to complete the job. He discovered this only after doing most of the installation and, only after then, did he read the manual. He must remove all of the electrical work done inside the house and we must engage another electrician. (He has graciously said he would not charge us for the materials or the time.)He was supposed to come yesterday to do the work, but only after I phoned him at 5 o'clock did he say he would have to come today (late morning). It is now 12:40 and I have not heard from him. | |He is a nice man and his intentions were honest, but right now my patience is running a little thin."

Response from Taylor Electrical Service Inc
The reason for not reading the manual before is that we had installed many of these and did not know that the manufacturer had made radical changes in the equipment. Then I went to the manual. I did not remove all the electrical work, only 3 contactors which turned out not to be right for the new system. I ate the cost of these and all the extra time spent. We did a considerable amount of other good work at this residence, which they don't bother to mention.

My husband really likes this company. They did what they said they would do and they did a good job. He would recommend them. He is a type of not recommending many people.

They were very polite to me. They did a great job, but I’d never hire him again. He knew his stuff, but he took too long. I was also informed that the technician forgot about me and had to reschedule. I had an old stove that was wired into the wall. I couldn’t believe that it was wired the way that it was. When the electrician pulled it out of the wall, he said that he had never seen something done that way. He missed the appointment and couldn’t make it out until later. He knew what he was doing, but he wasn’t very fast. He realized that I knew what I was talking about and he did do good by me, but it cost me a lot of money. It was done to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: They came out and rewired my stove for me. They also installed a light in my laundry room.

Response from Taylor Electrical Service Inc
We did not forget about the customer, we had an emergency (common in this business) and I had difficulty reaching her. I was able to re-schedule. $191.43 is NOT a lot of money for this work. It is VERY reasonable. We are not slow, we take our time and do the job right.

First the job was quoted at 2-3 hours plus $75 show up fee. So the quote was supposed to be $275-$375. The job entailed putting in 4 outlets. While putting in the outlets my downstairs electric went off. Then he dilly dallied around looking in the basement for the problem. Ensuring me it was a coincidence that my downstairs electric went off while they were working upstairs. With their 20 years of experience I had to help solve the problem. Which was a broken wire from the breaker box they were working on. Then after helping them fix their mess their leader said he never quoted that price. And also thought he would receive other jobs i needed done. Very laughable. Taylor Electric's slogan is "Our prices won't shock you". They are right they will electrocute you. Also the boss ensured me he is not a crook. And an employee also lied and said he checked every wire from the upstairs breaker box and they all were putting out 123volts. Clearly another lie

This is unbelievable. We get compliments everywhere we work and I can furnish many positive references. The job took much longer because we encountered other problems with his house wiring. Why did he not object at the time? Our rates are proven lower than most competitors. He did not help us troubleshoot this. Another ridiculous claim. He understated the amount of work. And we do not LIE ever. We have all encountered people like this at one time or other. Those with a bad attitude also seem to be the loudest.

They were local and the technicians were nice. My overall experience with them was average. Their price was good and they were responsive and punctual. However, they were just OK; I was looking for someone who had A quality so I would not use their services again in the future.

How could the 5 criteria all be B but overall a C? Not logical. Most of our customers show appreciation; however, they are not the ones who seem to get on here to respond.

It went very well. Mr. Taylor came and talked with me, and I just felt like he was a good, honest, and reputable service provider.
Description of Work: He changed the florescent light in my kitchen, added some switches to my electrical box, and installed a light above a Thomas Kincaid painting.
