I have used suddenlink since they came into my area and took over from charter communications. Now they are implementing a data cap of 250 Gigs. I stream netflix, work from home, watch youtube, browse the internet, social media, etc. On average my bill will increase by $60 per month with my and my family's current usage. More services are being hosted online, internet usage will only increase meaning my cost will continue to increase. Not only do you have to pay to stream netflix or hulu plus shows now suddenlink wants you to get paid for letting you watch these services. video security systems in your home will increase you suddenlink bill, backing up your computer with services like carbonite will increase your bill, downloading updates for computers, tablets and smart phones will now increase your bill. Suddenlink holds the internet monopoly in my area, Frontier has no limits on data usage and I would switch in a heartbeat if it was in my area. As long as Suddenlink has a data cap I will never recommend any of their service.

Suddenlink has poor quality copper connections and node servers in our area (Charleston, WV). Frequent episodes of very poor signal-to-noise. Frequent dropouts. Any minor storm causes a re-set of the local node - and failure of our service. But, with their monopoly... we're stuck.

In terms of reliability, there have been the occasional outages, but the service is generally reliable. The cost for television and Internet per month is pretty steep, with my monthly bill coming in at about $140.00. However, I do have to give Suddenlink the highest marks for customer service. Whenever I have had to deal with them on the phone, their reps have always been extremely professional, friendly and helpful, and on the several occasions I have had to have a technician come to the house, they have been fantastic. I would love to see their process come down a little, but the customer service is great.

Overall, I would not use Suddenlink if there was a choice other than Frontier. Internet, phone, and cable are unreliable.

It has been a fiasco of terrible customer and technical service. We were to get new service on 9/2. They showed up in August while we were on vacation -- which meant they cancelled our entire order. We had to go back and re-order everything. On 9/3, the technician ran late but did arrive and installed internet (which works great) and phone service (but could only provide one telephone active jack, instead of throughout the house). Supposedly he wired up the TV, but when I turned it on to watch collage football, all I got was snow. Wondering what was going on, I eventually wiggled the connector cord, and the signal went in and out. Whether it is a bad connector cord or what is still in question. I called immediately on 9/3 and they could not send out a tech to fix it until 9/11, giving me a 2-4 p.m. arrival time for the tech. Today (9/11), I left work to be here and was here at 12:30 pm in case they showed up early. When it reached near 4 p.m., I called and they said he was running late and would be here by 5. A little after 5 I called again, and they said he was running late again and would be here by 6. It is now after 6 p.m. and no tech! I called again, and NOW I am told he will arrive between 6-7 p.m. This is ridiculous. Poor service to string out the customers like this....and they call me a "VIP Customer?" If I treated a VIP customer like this, I would be fired.

The service from them has been excellent. I have had several occasions when I had to call with questions or help, and they have always been very, very polite, and thankfully, they are from here, I am not calling India. If I call them with a problem, they are gonna be here within a day or two. I have used them quite a number of times.
