It was an awful experience and I hope no one else has to go through having the owner of a place shout at you.
Description of Work: The company took my laptop and was supposed to fix the problem that was causing it to be slow. They stated they removed the virus and the problem was fixed. I took it home and when I got a chance to check it, the computer was still running slow. They were already closed by the time I realized and I did not have time to take it back right away since they are only open M-F 9-5 so, it ended up being a couple weeks until I took it back. They called me back and said it had another virus on it and they removed it, so I would need to pay again. I told them they did not fix it the first time and told me I would need to speak with the owner. One of the owners, Frank, told me I needed to grow up and pay my bills and when I told him I would let people know how he runs his business, he threatened to post the pictures from my computer on the internet. This is very unprofessional and I am surprised the owner has been able to stay in business talking to customers like that.

PC Medics is a full service computer repair center. We also service a broad array of customers from home, business, industry, and government. We strive to provide the best possible service in a professional manner, and in a timely fashion at an economical cost. Member was rude, belligerent, demanding, unreasonable, and very unpleasant in her encounters with our technicians. She was hard to contact, and even harder to deal with. In our 3+ years of being in business we have never dealt with a customer like her. She also misrepresented several of the facts. The first time she brought her laptop in for virus removal we had it for less than 3 days. We removed all viruses including a file sharing program from pirating music and videos. We explained to her that pirating media through limewire/frostwire is a surefire way to get viruses and it is illegal. She immediately returned to pickup her laptop. Over 1 month lapsed until she brought her laptop back a second time. Our posted policy is that virus removal is only warranted for 3 days after pickup. When she brought it back she mentioned that it was “slow downloading videos.” After inspection, we confirmed she was using the file sharing program again and she had contracted a large number of new viruses and malware. We confirmed with the college housing complex where she resides that they throttle back streaming videos. (i.e. youtube) and attempt to BLOCK peer-to-peer file sharing. Their method of blocking does not work 100% since it has to discover the port the program is using and then block it. The files sharing program will then find a new port. This allows data to be downloaded but at a very slow and frustrating rate. She then stated that the repair should be for free. We explained the 3 day policy and her response was “she was too busy.” She lives across the street less than 300 yards from our office and the end of her driveway is less than 150 feet from our building. Had she at least called in a timely fashion we would have been more likely to work out an agreement. However, we DID give her a discount on her second visit. She was still yelling and cursing at the staff of PC Medics. She was threatening to sue, slander, and post derogatory comments online unless the repair was free. We do not look at, share, or store any personal data of our customers and would never threaten to post any of her data or information online.
