Description of Work: Mike built our driveway, excavated our building site and installed our septic system. We are very pleased with the quality and timing of his service. Very professional and we would not hesitate to use him again for future work.

 + -1 moreThere were communication problems from the beginning, some of which I take responsibility for. At the end of May, Mr. Keefer of Tree Works came to the house, I showed him what trees I wanted trimmed, he gave me an estimate, and said it would be the end of June/early July before the work could be done. A few days after the initial visit, the provider delivered mulch and asked for a check for the tree trimming services. I should have said I wouldn't pay until the work was done -- had I been more direct, some of the problems could have been prevented. July came and went, but I saw no work that had been done. I called the office once, and they said they'd be out to the house soon to do the work. Another month went by. I called again, and was told the work had been done back at the end of May. I said I had not been present when the work was done, and I could see no difference in the trees I wanted to have trimmed. Finally I sent a letter asking that I at least be shown where the work was done. Mr. Keefer came out and showed me where branches had been trimmed. The work done was far less than I wanted, which I would have pointed out had I been there when the work was done, even if doing so would have raised the cost of services. As I said, the communication problem was two-fold. I should have asked for a written description of the work so that it was clear to me Mr. Keefer and I had the same image of what work was to be done. I should have questioned him when he asked for a check, rather than assuming that he expected payment before the work was done. On the other hand, I believe that Mr. Keefer should have called and arranged to do the work at a time when I was at the house. His office should not have said they would be there soon when, in fact, it appears they had already done the work. While I take some responsibility for the problems in communication, what made the whole experience worse -- other than the fact that the trimming was not done to the extent that I expected -- was that Mr. Keefer was rude and surely.

 + 0 moreOh, I believe I have covered this area in my previous statement. Sorry. I didn't realize this particular area was provided. I didn't read ahead before starting to respond to the instructions. In response to the address where the work was performed: It is a "gated" community ... River Ridge Subdivision ... 1274 Pioneer Trail, Great Cacapon, WV 25422
Description of Work: In approx. 1999 (I cannot provide a definite date - it was in the summer, Mike and his crew installed a split-rail fence (over 600') in front of my property. Price: approx. $1,000. It is STILL in excellent condition. Then in 2006 (this is an estimate... I'm really not sure of the year, and it was also done during the summer months) he and his crew came out to my property and removed approximately 14 acres of small trees and bush from my acreage, leaving the very large and medium trees standing. Now my acreage looks like a park. This price was also approx. $,1000. On 4/16/2013, I called his office and left a message. I gave my name, but not an address and did provide my phone # for his response. In my message I simply stated that I wanted an estimate for having a very large 'dead' tree removed. On 4/18/2013, Mike (the owner) showed up at my front door. I was totally surprised. I haven't talked or seen him for several years (5 or 6). He had received my message, recognized my name, and decided to call on me personally, rather than just phone. I live 15 miles out of town, so it is not 'on his way' to another call. I mention this only because I wish to acknowledge his dedication to good, prompt service, but also it shows his appreciation of his customers. We had a very, very nice chat. He informed me the tree about which I was concerned was NOT dead, and that in glancing at the property on his way up, there appeared to be no other trees I need be concerned with. I want to provide additional information to ensure personnel of his integrity. I am a widow of 76. Mike is probably in his early 50's. Because I am a female, I do NOT want anyone to, perhaps jokingly, assume he made the house call because I am female and single. Mike is a dedicated married family man. I VERY HIGHLY recommend his Tree Works Service. He has been in the business for over 20 years, has a large crew, is insured, and has a FIVE-STAR rating, in my opinion. His crew is pleasant, polite, and prompt. They clean up the area in which they have worked, and make it look as if it is brand new. I simply cannot say enough to compliment this business.
