Description of Work: I have been searching for an honest heating and cooling company since moving to Princeton, West Virginia. We replaced a 5 year old "contractor" grade unit that never cooled the intended area. Mr. Hopkins (co-owner) came to my home and presented me with three options but recommended that I purchase the least expensive of the three and explained that it was perfect for the area I needed to cool and the area of the country where we live. I purchased a Trane heat pump that works perfectly! The men who installed the unit were professional and very neat, they even stopped to clean up something that dropped on my floor. They finished the job within 2 days, replacing the air handler in my attic, thermostat and unit. The company is planning to service this heat pump every season to ensure that it operates efficiently and works for many years to come. I am thrilled with their service! I have used most every heating and cooling company in Princeton and I have not received this type of service before West Virginia Heating and Cooling from Beckley.

Description of Work: My furnace went out during single digit temps; they responded to my call the same day and after determining that my furnace was beyond repair they replaced it with a new one the next day. My old furnace had already gone out once a few weeks earlier and another company came out and got it working temporarily and said it should be fine and make it a few more years. Obviously this was not the case, it only worked a few more weeks. The tech from WV heating and cooling noticed right away what the problem was and knew it was irreparable.

Description of Work: I originally called around 2pm to have my furnace repaired and was told the technician would call me probably tomorrow since it was late in the day. He called me at 5:05 pm the same day but I wasn't available. At about 6:30 that evening I called the cell phone number he provided and spoke with him, we made an appointment for the next day. Keep in mind that we had been having some problems with the furnace, some repairs my husband was able to make and one repair was done by another company last year and was not happy with that company and felt we were over charged so that's why I looked at Angie's list this time and chose this company for it's good review. The technician was on time, looked over my furnace and said he would need a part but that was the initial step and that may not be what was wrong but they always start there because most of the time it's that part that goes bad first but it's best to start there so we dont replace parts that aren't needed. He gave me an estimate of what it would cost, I agreed and he left to pick up the part. He replaced that and lo and behold that was not the part that was malfunctioning. He told me the that if it's not that part then the other part connected to it was more than likely the problem and that he wouldn't charge for labor only what the part cost but he had to order it and could have it by the next day. We had previously talked about how old the furnace was and all the problems we had been having so he called to the office to check on the price of a new one. A new Trane 100,00 BTU furnace would be $2600.00 installed. First of all I had to make sure I hear right $2600 installed. I told him I talk it over with my husband and call him. He said we can call his cell phone that evening. We talked about it and decided it was time to replace it and with that price why not because we may have another repair expense next year as the furnace may be 20+ years old. So we called and told him our decision and he said the owner would make contact the next day and bring a contract for me to sign. The owner came with the contract and I asked about a humidifier as the existing furnace had one, he said that would be $795.00 extra for a total of $3395.00 installed. I signed the contract and he said they would be back in a couple of days to install it.

Description of Work: Called this business during a very hot time and was told the dispatcher would get back to me. The next morning my power went off at 7:20 a.m. and was off for over 2 hours. Shortly after the power came back on, the man called and said he could come to the house right then. In less than 10 minutes he was at the front door. He came in and gave me some info on air filters and then went and checked the outside unit. He came back to tell me that the freon was a little low and I okay that he refill. I had asked my husband to come home from work to talk to this gentleman and he arrived as the serviceman was finishing up. He gave my husband more information and help than we had had for over 7 years with the people who had installed the unit. We were so happy with the service and the price. My husband would suggest this service and company to anyone looking to get away from the companies that are ripping you off. I will call this company back, should I need further service.
