My name is Zach and I have done tile on a professional basis for a fairly large tile and marble company in Clearwater Florida. With that company I gained much experience and have done work in many multi million dollar residences. Including people such as, Donald Trump, Hulk Hogan, and Mike Alstott.
In the past year I moved back to Wisconsin, where I grew up, and started my own tile and marble installation company. I work alone, and almost never use subcontractors. I am not licensed in the state of Wisconsin, BECAUSE, there is no provision for lisensing for tile installation in the state of Wisconsin. However I assure you, I learned all the aspects of the right and wrong way to install tile and marble, and I strive for perfection on every installation, and will accept nothing less.
On most jobs I will charge a square-footage price, example- ceramic or porcelain over concrete sub-floor, $2.25-$2.75/sf.
Marble over concrete sub-floor $3.50-$4.00/sf.
However on jobs where the square footage is so small, and there is a great ammount of time involved in tedious work, I will charge a "day rate" of $125-200 per day.
Also to mention, I CAN form marble and travertine into a bullnose.
Often times I will offer what I call "freebies" if a job is large enough. For example, If the job was of decent size, for example a full bathroom remodel, and lots of marble work, I might throw in the building and tiling of a seat in a shower for free. Or free fixture installation.. it would vary depending on job of course, but I always try to find a way to throw in a freebie, and make the customer happy.
Once again, I refuse to cut corners in my installation, of tile and marble, call me for any references or pictures of some of my work.
As far as material costs... I buy what is needed, all I ask for is reimbursement in the exact ammount spent.
I've tried to include everything I can think of in this description of my company. Again, any questions, please call.
