My experience with this company was very bad. They did not follow code on the chimney chase, used the wrong materials, the chimney cap blew off twice and they never came to repair it. They did not pay their supply company even though I had paid them, so a lien was filed on our home for over a week, until their debt was eventually paid. The shingle replacement seems to have been done well and looks good, despite the other overwhelming failings.

Prompt, efficient, quality workmanship only complaint: the bill came in at $5000, instead of their $4500 estimate because we had a second layer of shingles to remove. While this additional cost was defined in the body of the contract, I believe they should have known this from the inspection and included in the estimate bottom line. That said, the final cost was still very competitive.

We called Danz on referral from friends who had a complicated 3rd story roof replaced on their Winnebago St. House in Madison. Steve Holling, Danz s roofing consultant, made an inspection of the property on Milwaukee St. He determined that the roof only needed minor repair to be made to last for at least five more years. He felt it was a waste of our money to tear up the current shingles in order to address some non-urgent structural issues below. We were prepared to replace the roof and were delighted to deal with someone honest enough to tell us to wait. Everyone we dealt with a Danz was top notch, including the receptionist who answered the phone. This was not our experience with the other roofers we called for estimates/opinions. Three companies never returned our initial phone calls, maybe because it is January.
