+ 2 moreSuperb. A 2d floor bath flooded the kitchen below. Mike was fantastic. Within hours they had removed the ceiling drywall...preventing water from migrating to other rooms w beamed ceilings etc. We had to replace ceiling, which M Design leveled as well ( very old house). We added canned ceiling lghts. And mike pointed out other issues that were uncovered so we could fix....including an old cracked pipe that we replaced. Project also included paint, floor work, electrical and plumbing. Contractor was great...professional, trustworthy. Also helped work w my insurance company Really great job, a great company.

+ 2 moreIt went as well as any project we have ever been involved with. This is no bull. Mike knows his stuff and he knows how to do it right. No short cuts. His sub contractors are all top notch. Really good guys and proud of their work. Our neighbors even commented how conscience the crew always seemed when they arrived and made noise, they were always conscience of time and decibels, how they conducted themselves when they were making the deck outside, and how they cleaned up the job each night. Another key is the great ideas that mike has. Example....in the kitchen we had a 3 step folding ladder. Heavy as h***. Too heavy for my wife to lift and use. I asked him if he had any ideas as to how we could make a functional ladder that would sit on top of the granite counter top, be stable and look nice. He had made this work of art that matches the wood and fixtures of all our cabinets in the kitchen. It is so beautiful, we have a special wall in the kitchen where it hangs for all to see.......... it is this kind of attention to detail and true ownership of the project that has us so happy with Mike's work. it
Description of Work: He retiled our one and only stand up shower in a beautiful glass tile. He found a way to add a small bench for sitting. We added a excellent steam generator system in the basement that works wonderful. He also added a circulation water line for the kohler shower fixtures for instant hot water in the morning. Added a vent to the ceiling, new toilet, sink, painting, and glass door. He then moved onto our second bathroom that had a sink, bathtub, and toilet, cracked tile floor, incomplete tile around the entire perimeter of the room. He added new fixtures to tub, new sink, fixtures, toilet, ceiling fan, new medicine cabinet, new sconce lights on each side of the mirror. He found a woman that repairs cracks in intricate tile floor and you would be hard pressed to find the crack now. He then built an IPE wooden deck over our rubber flat roof garage. I can hardly explain it to you, but suffice it to say, it is beautiful and extremely useful. Lovely fold down partions, built in ipe planters and an ipe box for storing gardening tools on the deck. We then had him work on a roof problem that needed to be dealt with. We were losing tuck pointing on our chimney and leaks on our third floor roof. All fixed beautifully. He build IPE wood (Iron wood) planter boxes for all around the exterior window wells, right after he converted them all to glass block. He had his plumper add a sump pump and a back flow preventer valve to keep waste sewage from ever making it back into our home again. Serious piece of equipment. He re-did our entire kitchen with all natural materials and high end appliances and lighting. Seeing is believing. I know the list goes on... stone work and pad for our hot tub, re-tuck pointing our front porch.......

Work was performed on time and schedule, good assessment and adjustment during the work, excellent quality, no clean-up required. Like it never happened. Established, trustworthy business - had no problem leaving them a lockbox for access to the house while we were not there and work simply got done in the background. Great experience.

+ -1 moreMike was very responsive from the start and had great communication. His estimate was higher than another remodeler, but I was more impressed with his professionalism and communication. He scheduled the work quickly and it was complete in under a week. He was there at every step of the process and called me several times just to keep in touch and let me know how things were going. The finished product looks absolutely wonderful...we are very impressed.
Description of Work: We had part of a wall cut out to make an opening between our kitchen and living room.

+ 4 moreThe job went well. Mike's choice of architect to help layout new cabinets and lighting was excellent and all of his subs performed well. Everyone was courteous, professional, conscientious. The job was complex in that there were many steps and work-around and there were many decisions required in the field (no design or construct is perfect) but Mike was there the entire time and hand managed everything. He called every week or more at each milestone to make sure we knew what was going on and to elicit feedback. His communication was excellent. His attention to detail was outstanding.
Description of Work: New counters, cabinets, appliances, fixtures, lighting, trim as well as, wall removed. Bathroom counters replaced along with sinks and faucets. Downstairs door removed and installed at a new location.
