Where to begin... THE INSTALLER: He started three days late. The installer (whom Home Depot said was "our best guy") didn't lay a laminate floor flat in the bathroom, and Home Depot said that's just how it is. There were gaps, and bumps. They let her have a vinyl floor (which she really didn't want) instead when I showed them photos of the inept job. The installer left his equipment all across the hall, the living room and the kitchen, he sometimes worked three hours per day. Mom had to weave her way around his mess. When I showed photos of the mess, they canned him, but then brought him back to lay the wood laminate floor. He put down a moisture barrier under the floor, which made a crinkling sound when you walked on it. CUSTOMER SERVICE: We complained, and Home Depot sent this guy's boss's boss and HE said because the quarter rounds weren't yet on, the "SOUND WAVES come up around the edges of the flooring and it echoes in the hallway." He went on to say that after a couple weeks, the barrier would lay out flat and "you won't even notice it." We suggested maybe it wasn't leveled, and he seemed offended. After I took video of the noisy floor, Home Depot's customer service manager agreed it WASN'T right. They sent ANOTHER boss out who used the eight foot level, and, sure enough, it WAS VERY UNLEVEL, after all. Then they said there was too much moisture (they said the humidity--in the dead of a Wisconsin winter--was 100%!). They told my mom she needed to buy a dehumidifier ($170) to try to bring the moisture down to acceptable levels--OTHERWISE SHE'D NEED TO GET VINYL FLOORING! They tore it up and stacked it in her hall. Throughout the process, excuses and contradictory statements have been the norm. SHORT VERSION: My 82 year old mom (on a fixed income and not a complainer), four weeks later, has a torn up floor, flooring materials stacked in her hallway, is running a dehumidifier 24/7 in the hopes that Home Depot will be able to finally lay a floor correctly and get out of her life. None of us will ever shop there again.
Description of Work: My mom is in the midst of getting a bathroom and kitchen floor replacement (four weeks and counting).

Did not like the fact the the installers did not speak English while installing the carpeting. Did speak English for the transaction, but while installing they kept talking Spanish.

Jeff and Judy Thomas were the crew that we had. They were very nice, friendly, and were a pleasure to have in our home. They also did an excellent job cleaning up at the end of each day and were extremely professional. They did fantastic work and we could not be happier. Lisa Van Strien from Home Depot came and took all the measurements and was wonderful as well. AMC of Wisconsin was in charge of installing the countertops and they did a great job. The whole process was seamless and made it easy for us. The work was completed in full in less than a week.
Description of Work: We had our cabinets refaced (all new doors, drawers and hardware). We also had new countertops installed, had our island enlarged and refaced and got all of our appliances delivered and installed.

See detailed review of Crew2 under bathroom remodeling. The short version is that Home Depot is not able to satisfy a customer that has needs that go beyond the limited line of Kohler plumbing fixtures carried by Home Depot. We finally did get a bid from Crew2 that did have the fixtures that we wanted. However, when compared to a well-known, fairly large local contractor the Home Depot/Crew2 was substantially overpriced. RECOMMENDATION: If you are satisfied with the products that Home Depot carries and there is nothing unusual about what you need done Home Depot/Crew2 may be OK, but not if you want it done and quot;your way.and quot;
Description of Work: We got a bid from Home Depot (using their Crew2 shop at home service) for the remodel of three bathrooms. We did not accept the bid.

Description of Work: WE PURCHASED A MAYTAG DISH WASHER AND HAD IT INSTALLED BY A LOCAL PLUMBER.
