GERRY'S AT HOME CARPETS

No surprises. On time as scheduled. Pretty clean, no issues other than the basic stuff. Went well, so mother-in-law also got her carpet re-done. He may not come across as the helpful person, but his intentions and knowledge really gets the job done right. Will use him for more rooms as time progresses.

First off, Gerry came into our home to show us carpet samples. I showed him on the computer what I had wanted and he told me that I did not want a solid colored carpet. He proceeded to show us a bunch of samples that weren't anything like what I had showed him that I had wanted. He was actualy to the point of leaving when he produced a sample from his car which I was interested in. He gave us a price and set up an installation date. The project was suppose to take 1-2 days. The installers showed up shortly after 9:00 am. They no sooner walked in the door and they did some measuring and told my husband that they were 8 feet short on carpet. I was told by the installers that I would have to wait another week for more carpet. Gerry never contacted me or apologized for the inconvenience. I called Gerry to tell him that I was very upset and he did not seem to be too concerned about my feelings. I thought that he could put vinyl in one small bathroom free of charge for all of my inconvenience. He said free is not going to happen but eventually agreed to do it for an extra $100. One week later the same installers show up and start working on the bathroom and the entrance way and all is going well until they pull the carpet off the truck in the afternoon only to find the carpet was damaged and shipped that way from the mill. They immediately texted Gerry. An hour later Gerry calls me and tells me he will have to reorder the carpet and they will finish the install asap. Of course that will be another week away. I expressed my anger and dissatisfaction and Gerry just kept saying that he felt the same way. I asked what he was going to do to make this right and he said he didn't know he would think about it. He did eventually agree to do the bathroom for nothing. A week later a different guy shows up with the carpet to finish the job. I thought for sure the carpet wouldn't match but all was good and he proceeded to finish laying the carpet. Again, the installer did a nice job. He did say that Gerry wanted a check on delivery and the job was not even finished. The first installers had also requested a check before the job was anywhere near being done. Obviously he did not get his check. So you think the job would be done now. No it was not because Gerry did not tell him that the quarter round still needed to by layed around the vinyl and there was a section of flooring that was not laying flat and I wanted it to be fixed. Once again I had to wait a couple more days. Gerry called me a couple of days later to ask me what color quarter round he was suppose to buy. They had been in my house 4 times and now and he is asking me 2 1/2 weeks later what color to buy? Yikes!! He wants to come on Friday to finish up the job and the time frame won't work for me so I tell him what hours they can come on Thurs. He is about to hang up and he says see you on Friday. What? I said Thurs, He again starts to question me about Friday so I give in and set up a time later in the day. I just want the job finished and them out of my house. The original installers show up on Friday and finish everything to my satisfaction and again request the check for the final balance. I told them that I would be paying by credit card and they told me to call Gerry with the info. I wanted to tell Gerry that my account was a little short like the carpeting but I paid the balance on the following Monday. Gerry said thank you, never asked how things looked or apologized. I would have any of his installers come to my house again and do work but I would never deal with Gerry again. We give the installers an A and Gerry an F. That is how we come up with the C rating for the job done.

Gerry did a good job bringing out samples and explaining the pluses and minuses of different types of hardwood. Gave a quote on the spot. Pricing was in line with what I expected and other suppliers. Wood was delivered in 4 days and work started a week after agreement on quote as promised. Needed work performed quickly before arrival of new furniture. The installer, Paul, was very knowledgable and efficient. He arrived when scheduled and began work immediately. Quickly had carpeting removed and began preparing floor and installing wood. Amazing how quickly he was able to cut and fit pieces in place working around several odd corners, and making it look great. Did the majority of sawing outside to minimize dust in the house. There was a concern on my part that there could be a problem in matching the carpeting height in the 3 other rooms the hall attaches to with the new wood floor. Paul assured us that it would not be an issue, and it was not. I am not sure how they do it, but it looks perfectly even! He also had some custom pieces made to make the connection of the hardwood to the tile in the kitchen look nice. After the floor installation he installed the new baseboards which they had me purchase with their suggestion of size and color to minimize cost. We are thrilled with the work and the new warm look the hardwood gives to the house. I definitely recommend Gerry's for your flooring project and I would request Paul for hardwood, although all the installers may be just as good, don't know. A completely painless and satisfying experience.

It was good. It was a good price and I was satisfied with the job. I would consider using them again in the future.

Carpet installers bumped the hot water handle on our bath tub and because of that it ruined everything we had in the tub that wehad to move out of their way. Lost a lot of precious enduring things that my mother in law gave to my wife before she died

He is a local at home carpet that competes with Empire and Wes Luna (those two are on TV all the time) I decided... I was tired of going back and forth to carpet stores, getting squires. So I had him come over and he measured and brought samples, etc. I ended up using him to carpet my family room. I was very happy with it. I haven't done the hardwood yet. I am waiting till after tax season to see my situation, but the carpet was beautiful. Gerry is the owner and he did the estimate and brought the samples and he was good. The installers were the same. I live on the second floor and they had to lug carpet (it was may be 12 or 15 feet) It was huge and heavy, but they got it around the corner nicely (upstairs) They were efficient. It looks gorgeous and I am pleased with it. I would use them again for hardwood when my situation is such that I would do it. They also moved a set of furniture which I had included in my quote since I am not in a position to move the furniture. They moved the furniture out to be able to lay the carpet down.
