We had a very large weeping willow and a large maple tree that we wanted removed from our backyard. We contacted several different companies on Angie's List and some didn't even respond to us. We also had had these same 2 trees trimmed with another tree service several years ago and were very disappointed with the work and the customer service. August Hoppe came out and gave us an estimate, which we thought was a fair price for the work to be done. They had just the right equipment be able to access these trees and work on them. The job took 2 days which was amazing because of the amount they had to do. The crew that worked here were efficient and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing tree services in SE Wis.

I got 3 estimates for the needed work. Not only did Hoppe Tree Service come in at significantly lower than other companies, what really sold me was this: This work necessitated the electric company coming out and cutting back branches and Hoppe did all the negotiation with the Electric company to have all this work occur within fairly close days. The electric company leaves all debris behind when the customer requests the service. The other companies expected me to do the co-ordinating with the electric company. I would have found this irritating. Everything went smoothly. The crew was professional and efficient. The clean up was fabulous. Unable to find branches and debris anywhere. I watched them work and the crew actually went to each shrub near the tree and made sure that all branches were out of the shrubbery too. All staff that I worked with were pleasant and courteous. I would hire them in an instant and recommend them for all tree work needed!!!!

From the initial contact to the completion of the work, it was a pleasure to do business with Hoppe Tree Service. They were on time, polite, professional, efficient and tidy. I couldn't be more pleased. I wish all businesses were this easy to deal with.

August Hoppe came to my house and did exactly what he said he'd do, seemed professional and knowledgeable, and gave me a competitive estimate. I have contracted with his firm to do the work.

They came when they said they would. Cleaned up well.

Went well. I was unable to walk around our property with Fred due to a disability but they do welcome your interaction and questions you may have. He took notes on the trees and concerns I had and then talked with me afterwards. He also followed up with several proposals for work to be done. They were very easy to work with . We could pick and choose what we could afford to do and when. They offered suggestions on optimum pruning seasons. There was no pressure on their part. We were able to break up the work or treatments according to our finances. Only issue is they are very busy so scheduling the work may take awhile. However, I take that as a sign of others trusting their work and hiring them also!

It was in the perfect spot in a timely fashion. Will absolutely use Hoppe again!

Overall, they were very good. The only complaint I had was the scheduling .... apparently a new office person was in place and wasn't completely "up to date" with schedules and made an appointment on a day that Hoppe didn't work. I have to say that the crew that came out and did my trees did a wonderful job at cleaning up, you never would have known anyone had been there!!

Ordered on Angie's list on Sunday the 24th and the wood was delivered on Tuesday the 26th. When I ordered from another company it took 2-3 weeks to get the firewood delivered. I rated the quality at "GOOD" because some of the pieces were a little short and some were irregular shape. Overall I am extremely pleased with the product and service provided by Hoppe Tree Service.

I expected more then what they have provided . I am layman with trees and plants maintenance , I have taken this service expecting some education of how to maintain the plants . Some scientific recommendations based on soil , lighting ..etc about how to make my plants happy . But did not find great insights , I can get same information from internet . However Profession is very knowledgeable and needs more refinement in their service

Hoppe was great. Thomas was prompt, friendly, worked fast and efficient. He did a great job, very professional, and cleaned up well. I will definitely call them again.

Beginning in September 2015, I had contacted them about trimming and shaping a tree in my yard that is out of control and near my driveway. I was told by Fergus, who I believe is in customer service, that they would get to it "in October". We had agreed on a two-pay to take care of payment for the service. Every day, when I got home, the tree was never pruned. October came and went, and I never so much as even got a call about the service to be performed. Finally I got fed up, as we are now almost a week into November 2015, and the tree was not taken care of, so I told them not to even bother at this point. Again, no call, no concern, no apology, no NOTHING! When you call TWO MONTHS in advance and are promised work to be done in OCTOBER, and it becomes NOVEMBER, then all bets are off! Be professional and do what you say that you will do. I understand that my job was probably "small", but small jobs could lead to larger ones....

Hoppe Tree Sercie came out in July on an Angie's List offered. We wanted them to do an evaluation on one of our trees that had a black substance on the trunk of the tree. John Wayne, Arborist, came out and evaluation all of our trees. We have two very big Maples in the front of our house. They provide a lot of shade in the summertime. They are both the same size and balance out the front of our home. After evaluation, in which we thought was not only informative, but he was very honest with us. He could have sold us a bill of goods, as we know nothing about trees. I asked for an estimate for trimming the two trees, as we hadn't had the trees trimmed in years. We were quoted a price, but told up front that it wouldn't be until November. I was concerned about yard clean up, but John Wayne assured me it would be done to our satisfaction, or they would come back until we were happy. They called last Friday and the work was done today. My husband and I did leave cleanup yesterday. Two crews came out today. Max was in charge. He asked if there was anything that we wanted specifically. They not only trimmed the two trees, but cleaned up all the leaves that were under the trees! Our yard looks wonderful! They did a wonderful job and we highly recommend them! The only issue that we had was that it was such a long wait. I understood, and was told up front that it would be November. I was also told that if there were any storms that would have any tree damage, that would be their number one priority. We will definately have them back again when our trees need trimming in the future.

The service was pretty good, they were respectful of our property and professional. Make sure you are specific when you get the quote though. We wanted a tree trimmed so it wasn't in our neighbor's garage nor her cable/phone lines into the house. They did great with the garage but they didn't have the bit about the cable lines and when I asked about it they said they couldn't do it because it wasn't on the quote. Not a big deal, but enough where I downgraded them to a B.

It went great. There was about a six-week delay during a very busy time for them, but it didn't really matter.

I've had good luck with this company. They cut down a dead tree in our front yard and planted a new tree in the same spot. It looks great. Did not cost much more than if I had gone to a garden center and paid for someone to plant a tree. Also, I called Hoppe Tree Service to look at another tree that I thought was sick. It took a few weeks for someone to come out, but I understand they were probably busy. Someone came out and told us what was wrong with the tree. Would not hesitate to use this company again. They definitely know what they are doing.

Wood is in great condition, and was delivered promptly and efficiently.

Hoppe consistently does a very good job. They always make our trees look great and are priced fairly. The workers always clean up the yard very well, and take pride in their work. We've been using them for years!

Provider came on time. He seemed very knowledgeable. Explained what was needed and answered all my questions. I felt confident about using his company for taking care of my trees.

A couple trees fell on our property due to a storm. We had used them before and they had been professional and punctual so we called them again. We didn't want to waste time in getting an estimate and trusted they would be fair with the pricing. There was a bit of a mix-up as to how many men were there initially (the first hour) but once I brought it to their attention they were very prompt in correcting the invoice.

Very professional, very knowledgable. Did a great job. Quick and tidy. Best of all, during the initial consult, when asking for advice about which trees to remove, he wasn't pushy or trying to "make the sale." He gave me some advice, he educated me as to what was growing in our yard, and allowed me to make the decision. Would definitely use again in the future!

I was satisfied with it as far as his knowledge on what I had. My questions were answered. It was kind of a one-time deal.

Honest business! There was miscommunication between John Wayne and myself when I had found a cheaper provider to spray my magnolias. He came out to spray before I could tell him I was using someone else. However, when I talked to him about this, he gladly met the other provider's quote! John Wayne is my hero! Oh, and the magnolias are doing great. I only wished we had found them earlier.

They determined that some of the trees were too far gone to be able to save, however, the 1 tree we were most interested in saving; they were able to start treatment in hopes of saving it. They were punctual and professional. They were so booked up but after hearing our situation they did their best to accommodate us ASAP. The pricing was reasonable and the product lasts longer so we don't have to get it treated again for another 2-3 years; which is great news!
