Hoppe Tree Service

I knew they were one of the largest companies in the area. They gave me a good, prompt quote. It was a week after before they got back to me. They responded quickly on the phone call but took a week for the quote.

All aspects of our service were great - they were responsive, courteous, and did a great job on the tree - as well as the cleanup after. I love that we can pay our bill online too. We've been using them since 2013 for work on our tree. They do get busy so if you're calling them during peak season, they might be a bit booked up.

They were on time. They did a good job with little damage to yard.

They cut down some dead trees but did not clean up the branches around the yard. They did mulch the piles of branches but took them away. I had to call them to verify the fact that they were suppose to leave them. They brought the mulch back but dumped the mulch in the front of the yard. I called to complain. They will give me 1 more hour of service. I did not hire them by the hour. I hired them to complete a given job.

They did a fine job. I never met the guy. I have a duplex and needed some small trees taken down. They took care of everything. When I went back there it looked like they've done a real good job of cleaning up too. They just did a good job with no supervision. They didn't charge any more.

Inspect trees. Have now contacted for additional tree treatment.

Delivered before requested date but a quarter of the cord was junk wood scraps and sticks.

They did an excellent job. I was very happy with it. It was reasonable. They were the lowest bid, they came out with a bunch of people and took the whole day here. They cleaned up after themselves. What more can a person ask for. They deserve a pat on the back.

The team was awesome -- from the professional assessment and quote to the work that was performed. Great team. Great results. Would definitely hire again.

The initial consult was sufficiently civil. After discussing that we could do some of the work now and some next spring and then receiving a quote of approx. $1500 to prune three trees and three bushes/shrubs (which is a lot more expensive than we expected or that we can afford ATM), I tried contacting the company to do some of the less expensive jobs at least _three_ times and they _never_ responded. Why even bother sending me a quote? Very neglectful. I guess they only respond if you pay them BEFORE they do the job? (Perhaps some discrimination is at play as well.)

August was very helpful when evaluating what areas we needed help with. The Hoppe Crew was extremely attentive, very thorough and pleasant. They did the work completely and quickly. They cleaned up the area and did a fantastic job. I will definitely use them again to help maintain my landscaping.

We didn't choose them. They should make suggestions instead of just being order takers.

We were very pleased with their work. You can't tell the tree was ever there. Came when they said they would come, carefully moved items near (and under) the downed tree, cleaned up the yard, very smooth from start to finish.

The person who came to for the estimate was friendly, helpful and professional. The crew was on time , completed the job in a timely manner and did a great cleanup . I would use them again .

Hoppe does quite good work. Although, they are NOT inexpensive for their work. They book far out in advance, so you'll have to be mindful of this. They're quite structured this way with their scheduling. Maybe the winter months, they maybe be a bit slower. There were 4-5 workers here which had taken them less than two hours.

The removal went swimmingly. I called Hoppe for a quote and they were the cheapest (not by much, though). I confirmed that I wanted the work completed through their online system. About a week before the work was completed, I received a call with the date of the tree removal. This was great because I was able to talk to my neighbor beforehand since one of the trees extends into his yard and I wanted his permission to enter his yard if needed. Hoppe came out and performed the work and then ground down the stumps about a week to 10 days later. All in all, I am very pleased with their work. They did a good job of cleaning up and communicating with me.

Beyond expectations! What a fabulous company, so professional, their work crew were amazing! When I my husband came home he couldn't believe there was no mess at all and no damage to our yards from the machines they had to use to remove the trees! They showed up on time, worked very hard the entire time they were here and planted a beautiful new tree for us!

Got a call today that the service was completed at an exceptional level and I have a very happy relative. They cut back the branches, chopped and stacked what they could for outdoor fires and cleaned up completely when done. Although there was a series of issues with the initial appointment, Hoppe communicated early and were very accommodating with the reschedule. It was not an issue. That part of the yard now gets sun. Overall the team at Hoppe know what customer service means. We would recommend them highly.

August Hoppe came out the same day I called to look at the tree and give me an estimate. Although I know they were very busy after the holiday weekend and all their summer work, they came out the next day and promptly took care of the problem. I was at a doctor appt. when they called to say they were coming so I asked them to take pictures of my roof so I could see any damage that was done by the tree. This was no problem for them and they texted me the photos. They did their work efficiently and cleaned up afterwards. I have been using their service for a number of years to trim my large maple trees. They have always been professional, polite, and efficient. And they always have time to explain things to me.

Overall: My business didn't seem important to them, especially when dealing with Fred Hoppe. Their work was mediocre, price on the high side for quality of work and customer service. Maybe they're better if you're spending $5k+, but if you have smaller jobs, look elsewhere. The Bad: The grinding crew did not haul away as was in the work order AND missed several stumps which needed to be ground down. A TWO WEEK DELAY from scheduled date to when stumps are ground. Crew left an awful oil stain (approx 18") in my nice concrete driveway from their grinding equipment, and several oil smears down the driveway. I do not feel that the crew was not considerate of my property. Told me that they would give a courtesy call before the grinding crew arrived, but no such call given. Grinding crew left a tool in my front lawn. Have yet to pick it up. Communication is terrible, especially with Fred. Forget about responsiveness to questions. Do not expect a response, even if requesting additional business. Communication with Andrea is a much better bet if you want results. She's definitely the one you need to speak with. The Good: Tree removal and tree trimming crew was on-time and respectful. They performed the work quickly and courteously. Cleaned up the space before they left. No complaints there. Wish these guys were on the whole job.

I highly recommend Hoppe Tree Service for tree care. Their entire crew is extremely hardworking, pleasant, and very professional. There pricing is very fair when compared with other companies. August Hoppe is very efficient and professional in providing information and staying in contact about any questions. I am looking forward to working with Hoppe Tree Service for many years in the care of my trees.

Excellent work. The work completed was done on time and to the specifications listed in their proposal. This was a large, 100+ years old willow, so not an easy task. Work spanned multiple days and the crew kept us apprised and thoroughly cleaned up the grounds after the removal was done. Very easy and pleasant to deal with. Will be using them for future tree service work for sure.
