I contacted many companies and they were the only prompt ones to get back to me and show up to give me a quote. I even received my quote the day they were there. I'm still deciding on who to hire, but they definitely are very professional so far!

It went very well. They did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier with their work. It needed special care to get it down. They did a flawless job. I was actually in town and my wife was here. They get the highest rating. They worked well together. They had a very good teamwork. It took one day for the tree to be removed. I had other quotes that were much more expensive. They were, by far, the most reasonable than anybody I talked to. Their pricing was one of the best. They were very good in terms of responsiveness. They were really easy to call. Some of the contractors took quite a while for them to get out and look at it. It was about a month before they were able to get into it. Everybody I talked to was super busy. I would absolutely use them in the future.

My experience with Hoppe could have been a lot better. I contracted with Hoppe to treat our Ash trees in June. The man who came and did the treatment was friendly and thorough, which I appreciated. That said, I had a terrible time with scheduling the treatment. I had to call them multiple (4 I believe in total) times before the man came out to do the treatment. Each time I would call they'd tell me I was on the schedule for next week, and when the next week came, they didn't show up. Finally, after about 8 weeks, on August 21st they came to do the trees. All in all, the trees are treated and healthy and I don't have to do it again for another 2 years. That said, I would probably contact another provider first based on this experience.

My kid went to high school with one of the owners. They do what I ask. They are fine. They did it, and they cleaned up, you couldn't tell that they were there. They said they would call the week before they came, and they did. They were good, and they were responsive. There was a tree I asked about, and he knew what he was talking about. He was knowledgeable.

Arrived within 1/2 hour of time arranged. The firewood has been awesome! Burns very well.

Shopped extensively for a good price and Hoppe had the best price for a face cord. The wood was well seasoned and cut ti proper lengths. they dropped it exactly where i wanted it. I have burned it a few times and burns great. I will order from them again next year.

Great they came out approximately when they said because the tree needed to be going into winter mode. They were extremely neat no branches even pine cones were gone. Great crew!

I had somebody come out for tree services and it was Hoppe. They are very good but there is quite a wait time if you don't have anything that's urgent. For responsiveness, I didn't have any emergency so I guess it would be an 'A'. It was just the removal of our tree. My only comment is that there is quite a wait time if you don't have anything urgent happening.

They were prompt and had a reasonable quote. They were honest with what we did and did not need for the trees. They did the work earlier than anticipated.

I have used them in the past. They claim to be a christian organization. They seem to be pretty honest. I like that the owner comes out to evaluate the job. He is very knowledgeable.

They were very informative. Provided an estimate immediately after appointment.

They were awesome. Their communication was really good. They called to keep us in the loop regarding the time I had set for them to come and when they would come. They called real close to the time if it was convenient. They were in and out really fast and were super friendly. It worked out great and was a great deal. I'd absolutely highly recommend them. I got this service on a coupon from Angie's List.

It was great, they were very nice! They stacked it for an additional $15, and it was good quality wood.

The guy who did the gutters showed up a couple of days before the tree/bush trimming guys. I give him 5 stars as he did exactly what we paid them to do. He told me that he was a contractor and I'd suggest that they continue to use him as he did a great job. A couple days later, the 2 guys showed up to do the tree and bush trimming. Yes, they trimmed the trees that I told them to do. But, for some reason, they were reluctant to trim the bushes. Not sure what their problem was. The tree trimming involved more effort and we were happy with the job they did with that. But, I went out and said, we asked Fred to trim the Viburnum down by about 1/3 from the top. The lead guy says to me, "no, we were told to just trim the Viburnum away from the house." Well, dude, I'm paying the bill and the Viburnum were nowhere near growing toward the house you lazy bum". Next day we look, and sure enough, they barely trimmed the Viburnum from the top like I asked. Well, we aren't paying the bill so maybe you can wait for your paycheck you worthless bum as we customers pay the bill, not Fred. Needless to say, we are a bit ticked.

When contacted about the quality and quantity of the face cord, they came out the next day and delevired more. Happy with their resposiveness.

Wood was delivered the next day - contact was made within hours of the purchase. Wood quality is good - mostly dry hardwood. Sizes vary but we are using for bonfire so fine for us. Would definitely consider them in the future.

Do what they say they will do. Nice electronic invoicing and payment makes it easy.

Spent over an hour with me asking questions and looking at out trees and shrubs. We have many mature trees and need a plan to maintain them and eventually replace some of them. He was very knowledgeable and took his time. Detailed estimate and plan for work to be done was in my mailbox within a week.

Company was very prompt in responding to my purchase of the Angie's List Deal. They responded faster than required. Appointment was scheduled at time it was convenient for me - and was also very fast. Fred Hoppe was most informant and was very patient with all my questions. I was excited to learn that I would not lose a Poplar tree that I was worried about. We checked out a number of trees/bushes and Fred was educational (some things I knew, some things I didn't) and we agreed on treatment of my ASh trees and a few pieces of trim work/bush removal that should be completed in winter/spring. What I really appreciated was Fred gave advice to me regarding some smaller trees - and showed me work/trimming I could do myself (I did not feel like it was just a sales job). Company has subsequently come out (less than a week after the analysis appointment) and performed first ash tree treatment - a treatment to protect the trees until the most protective treatment can take place in June. All-in-all a very good experience. I won't hesitate at all to have them do the trimming and future ash treatment.

They did a great job and were here on time. They cleaned up and we were satisfied. The price was right.

The company rep arrived on time and went about his business in a professional, friendly manner. He explained what needed to be done and why with an aura of self confidence. I received a fair estimate and a time frame on the spot and a contract was sent to my email address within an hour. Perfect!

I was satisfied with the advisory service and Fred appeared knowledgeable. One large Elm tree was dead he informed me and provided a formal proposal quickly. I did not use Hoppe to cut down the tree since I had another tree service that I had used previously with a somewhat lower price.

I had a very contrasting experience. The work crew was great. The communication with the front office was not. They had the estimator out promptly and I was told they would set a work date in a few weeks. After a few weeks of silence, I contacted them and got a date, though the date was beyond the initial 4-6 weeks wait I was told to expect. The work was scheduled to be done on Friday August 29th. That morning I waited until approximately 10 a.m. before calling their office to find out when a crew would arrive. I was told that they had cancelled me out for that day and hadn't got around to calling me. I was unhappy, but since I had a previous good experience working with this firm (cutting back tree brances) I let it go and rescheduled the work for a week later. The crew showed up promptly that following Friday. Most of the cutting got done before their chipper broke. Roughly one third to one half of the grinding was completed that day. I was told that they would be back the following Tuesday, though a member of the cutting crew said he might be back the next day (Saturday). He did show up the next day and finished the cutting promptly. On Monday at 7:15 a.m. I was awakened by a call from the estimator who told me that they wanted another $600 (about half of the original estimate) to complete the stump grinding portion of the job because it was taking much longer than originally estimated. I was very angry and, after expressing my displeasure with the amount, the early hour, etc. I told him I would confer with my wife and call him back later. I called back and, after receiving apologies, agreed to pay an additional $300. I also suggested to the estimator that a good deal of the grinding could, as we had originally discussed, be replaced by cutting the many roughly 1-2" diameter stumps down to ground level rather than using the large grinding machine to make large holes in my lawn. I asked the estimator whether the work would still be completed the following day (Tuesday) or on some other day. He said that the office would call me and tell me what day. Without hearing back from them, the one man who had done the previous grinding showed up the next day. I asked him whether he had been told about cutting, rather than grinding, many of the remaining stumps. The answer was that he didn't even have a saw with him. However, he told me that the grinding machine he had that day was much easier to position, so it would go faster. This made me think that a poor equipment choice (or availability) on the first grinding day also contributed to the slower than estimated time for completion of the work. Now the job is done and I have to get dirt and fill alot of holes in my lawn at my expense.
