Contacted Hoppe Tree Service, along with another company, for a quote on removing a large tree limb at our rental property that had fallen during a storm. They were able to get me a quote within about a week and I was happy to see that their quote was 1/3 of the price of the quote that I received from the other company! I was hoping that the tree limb could be taken care of immediately but was initially told they were booked out with work for another month. Once I approved the quote, I was happily surprised to receive a phonecall that they would be able to remove the tree limb that next week, which was great! They said it would be the second job of the day so they would be there between 8- 9:30ish. That day rolled around and I had my husband go out to the property to be there in case there were any issues. At about 11am, they still had not arrived so my husband called them and they said due to a storm the previous night, they had some emergency calls they had to handle first. So he ended up waiting another hour or two and then finally came home. I believe they actually came the next day and did about half of the work and then came back the following day to finish it. Meanwhile I never received a call updating me to the changing timeframe of when they would be there. Overall, I think they did a great job of getting me a timely quote with a very reasonable price, and were great at fitting me into their schedule earlier based on my request! My only recommendation for area of improvement would be a little more communication with the customer if there is going to be a change on when they are able to actually come perform the work. But as I indicated above, I would definitely use them again if we have any needs in the future.

They cut down the trees, removed all the wood, ground the stumps. They moved the bird bath, bird feeder and any thing else that they thought might get damaged. They were prompt, very friendly, and got the whole job done in about eight hours. If it weren't for the small amount of wood chips left over from when they ground the stumps, you wouldn't know they had even been here...except for the fact that we now have much more sunlight in our back yard. They are the tree service we have used for over thirteen years and they are the only one we will use in the future.

They removed every inch of debris and did so incredible quickly. Exceeded my expectations. They also were careful to replace our former cat's memorial garden statue while replacing the wood chips we had at the base of the bushes. I especially appreciated that they pulled onto the gravel road next to our property rather than pulling into our drive-way. They did this on their own so they would not have to worry about damaging my son's car parked in the driveway. Would definitely call them again anytime I had any bush, shrub or tree concerns.

The consultation was fine. The price stayed at the $40 Big Deal. He was just real nice. He was very patient and did not try to push anything. He gave me an estimate right before he left so that was nice. They were really good. I would definitely consider using them again in the future either for a consultation or tree service.

I had been talking with August about this project and I am glad I chose Hoppe Tree service! Jason from Hoppe tree service came out today and did a wonderful job! He was very professional, courteous quick and neat. Thanks for taking out the stump now we can move forward with our backyard makeover for our kids. We truly appreciate it you guys are the best!

Delivered the mulch very quickly - the next day actually - and placed it where I wanted it placed.

The initial contact was good. The quote was done promptly (September 2014). I wasn't expecting the work to get done for a couple of months (until roughly November) which was OK with me. However, I wasn't contacted until January 2015. The bushes were removed and the tree was cut down but none of the stumps were ground up and the yard was left very messy. One of my downspout extensions was flattened in the process. There was no contact from Hoppe regarding next steps. I waited a few days and then called to see what was going to happen. I was told that the job still needed to be completed and that a crew would come back promptly to finish the work. At least another week went by before the stumps were ground up and the yard was cleaned up. The downspout extension was replaced. I wasn't informed at all regarding when the trees would be planted. I had to call Hoppe again to find out the plan. When the trees were eventually planted (May), one was planted in the correct spot but the 2nd tree was planted in the backyard in the middle of my vegetable garden when it was supposed to be planted in the front yard near the front door of the house. It was very obvious that the crew doing the planting had no clue where it was supposed to go and instead of asking for assistance, they guessed. There was also no supervisory oversight for the crew. In mid-June, we had a storm with moderate winds. The winds blew one of the newly-planted trees over. Rather than try to replant it myself, I decided to call Hoppe since the tree had only been planted roughly a month earlier. I asked that the tree get staked. I was told someone would stop by the following day. If someone was not going to stop by the following day, I was supposed to receive a call. After two days and no call, no one had stopped by so I decided to place the tree in an upright position again but it fell over again about a day later. Finally, after one week, someone from Hoppe did stop by to replant the tree and stake it. In the end, all the work was completed successfully and the billing was correct. I was disappointed overall because of the slowness of the response, periods of incomplete work, lack of communication, and crews that were not able to complete the work successfully the first time. Despite the problems, John Wayne Farber (arborist) was excellent to work with and eventually followed up on what needed to be done.

The crew arrived as scheduled, on time, were professional, friendly and efficient. The next day two employees ground- ,out the three large stumps and roots that had surfaced with robotic grinder . On the third day they cleaned and removed the shavings. We WOOD be happy to use them again.

This is probably the worst service I've experienced in my 32 years on this earth. I booked the job in late April and they told me they wouldn't be able to get to it until May (it's their "busy season"). No biggie...except when I called at the end of May to confirm the exact date, they said the job was pushed out another 3 weeks until June 18th. Good thing I called, since nobody bothered to call and let me know that the date had changed. I called Hoppe 1 week prior to June 18th to confirm that appointment and they said that everything was set to go. Except they NEVER SHOWED UP! When my husband called to ask what happened, they said "well someone should have called you". The way they handled their mistakes was totally unacceptable. I would definitely not recommend them to any of my friends or family.

It was very poor service, I would not recommend them to anyone.

They were fabulous. They were really good. We even had a couple companies come in and say, oh we can't touch that one. That's on a hill, oh no, we don't do that. We had somebody come in and say, oh we could do that but we'd have to have somebody with a walkie talkie up on the roof and we'd have to do this and that. We had somebody else say, we'd have to have a truck come down your hill and it's going to destroy all of your grass. We had probably 6 quotes on our trees because, like I said, some said they wouldn't even touch it. They came in and said, oh yeah, we can do that. We're going to do this, this, and this, blah, blah, blah, blah,. They were absolutely fabulous. The price was good. The guys on the crew were all good. We had one stump that wasn't ground, they were supposed to grind both stumps. They realized their error and they had somebody come in right away and fix that. They were just fabulous. Really nice guys to work with. Their price was fair. They weren't the lowest but when we looked at all the quotes and all the stuff that they had to do here, I would give them 'A's across the board. I think that their experience far surpassed almost anyone that we had here. They came in and said it's not going to be an easy job but we can do it because the crew is that good. So, I think that these guys really know their stuff. They just came in here and they tackled it and they cleaned up after themselves. It was just fabulous. We did have someone quote us $2000 but I didn't feel like they knew what they were going to do. It was really important when they took the back tree down that they didn't hit the house. It was a weird thing and these guys know what they are doing. They really know what they are doing. They came in here and we watched them and it was amazing. That's their business and they do it well.

Very well, they responded quickly to my concern to avoid roof damage.

They came out and gave a quote of what we wanted done. They came on the day they said they would - did the work they said and did an amazing job cleaning the work area. Received the bill and it was only a few pennies of a difference on the estimate I was given. Can't wait to use them again!

I wish every business was run like this. They had enough people working for the job AND they also had enough people working to come on the day they said they would. There was no stupid music, no swearing; everyone was professional. My dates didn't get moved around or anything like that. Even when I scheduled the appointment I had a response in minutes. When they came out for the estimate they had the fairest quote too?. which was left that day. I didn't have to call and call to say "how much can I pay you to do this job?" I hate that when your wallet is open and you can't even get a guy to show up. I had a quote from a different company that was 3 times the amount and others a little bit more, but I could tell this company was going to be the best and easiest to work with. My husband has been saying "You're very Happy with them", which I am.

After viewing the project Fred ,the owner, assured me that they could do the project within the budget (very large, tall overhanging branches from the neighbor's yard) . Our patio is very small, with a pergola taking up a lot of space - however, his crew did a brilliant job ensuring that there was no damage to the plants, fence or pergola. The end result is well pruned trees, that still look pretty (a nice canopy) and I have no pine needles to sweep up! The team also left the patio spotless. I would recommend without hesitation.

The crew really knew what they were doing and I was impressed with the careful cleanup and stump removal.

The arborist was knowledgeable and offered suggestions for us to consider. We were never pressured during or after the visit to do any of the suggestions. We have committed to 2 of the suggestions and feel confident that they will deliver.

The service was good. The staff was good, and they work was completed promptly. They are reliable.

Very nice and neat , but hit my mailbox when going into driveway. They tried to fix it but it is still loose.

Everything went okay. I was pleased with the conversation I had with the consultant.

They were good. I will use them again for very large trees.
