Spahn-Manning Landscaping

This was the second time I hired Spahn-Manning, and again I was delighted with the results. Robb really listened to what I wanted and then designed and installed a beautiful and cost effective patio and walkways. Robb and his crew worked efficiently each day and cleaned up the area before they left each evening. The project was completed in a timely manner and really enhanced my property.

Rob and his crew were very friendly and work hard to build a beautiful wall!

I had to wait almost a month for them to actually come out to do the work. I had advised him that I didn't want the trees in a row that totally blocked me off from my neighbors, but rather spaced enough apart to just have a slight barrier. He pulled up to my home the day of our appointment, and the trees he brought were not the right type. I will admit to not knowing there were many different types of arborvitae, but I would expect any landscaper worth his salt would have advised me of that when placing my order. He said that the type he brought would fan out and form a barrier. I specifically told him that was NOT what I wanted. Not only that, but when he and his crew arrived, he exited the vehicle and addressed me as "the crazy lady", and referred to me as such with his crew. This was in reference to a t-shirt I had been wearing previously with a humorous statement about my being a "psychotic veteran", but I found it insulting.

I reached out to Robb Manning through Angie's List after my General Contractor (GC) who was doing a remodel on the interior of my home referred me to his landscape company that quoted me to remove my old deck and to replace it with a nice patio. The quote or bid from that landscape contractor was pretty high so I felt I needed to get a second opinion and quote. I contacted Robb Manning and three other companies I found on Angie's List. Robb was the only one of those three companies to call me back. Robb was incredibly professional, prompt and as it turned out in the end, did exactly what he said he was going to do and when he said he was going to do it. Robb came in 25% below the other landscape company referred to me by my GC, and I cannot believe any company out there could have done a better job or been easier to work with than Robb Manning. My patio job is now complete, and I could not be any happier!

Robb and his crew did an amazing job with my new patio! They worked quickly and professionally. The patio is really just gorgeous. They were clean and really left the place looking great. I'll hire them again to do more work in my yard.

It took two days. Rob and his two assistants worked to remove the concrete and dug out appropriately to have proper drainage and proper underlayment to the paving blocks which now make up this impressive front walk. As far as we are concerned these are the fairest, hardest working people you could hire. This is our second project that they have done for us and we are very pleased.

Owner and two assistants worked very hard and diligently and the block patio even turned out better then we expected. We hired them to replace our front walk. They will do that sometime in August.

FABULOUS. I had them out to look at the project back in April and they told me that they were very busy and would get to it in July. They came out and did a fabulous job. I highly recommend this company. Very professional staff.

It was a bit hard to get the job scheduled because of all the rain that occurred in our area, but Spahn-Manning showed up when they said they would, finished when they predicted it would be done, and the result was great! Spahn-Manning did exactly what I had envisioned and the price was highly competitive.

Everything looks great and survived the winter well. I believe the pricing was competitive. Robb is easy to communicate with although he is busy so it is mostly in the evenings or on email. He was on time for appointments. He has a small crew and they know what they are doing. I would hire again.

First off Robb is quick with responding to emails. On Tuesday March 24th I messaged Spahn-Manning Landscaping about getting some weed barrier and stones put around my pool. It is an odd shape so describing it over the phone was proving to be a bit tricky. Robb asked for my address so he could stop out on Wednesday the 25th and check out and get back to me with a quote for the project I wanted done. I told him I would spray paint the ground to show where I needed the work done. I did the spray painting and then I received nothing from Robb, no call, no written quote, no email, no nothing! I waited 2 days to email him back and low and behold he replies no problem. I told him I didn't need anything perfect because I am putting up a shed so I just wanted to get something done. Now the shed is ready and I heard nothing from Robb. Now I don't know if he doesn't want the job or if he really even came out and looked at it. But its not a good sign when I have to hunt you down just for a quote, I can only imagine what it would be like if I hired him.

The contactor stopped over to discuss the project that we had in mind. A great deal of useful information was provided. After which, we decided to sign a contact. The project was scheduled but dependent upon the weather. All excess material was removed from the yard and there was no cleanup needed by us. A good choice of paver stones made the decision a little difficult. Everything looks great.

Excellent job. One section sank a little and they regarded that section a few months later no charge.

They gave me an estimate of the time frame they would be able to get the job done and it was accurate. The job was completed in the time promised and looks great.

My husband and I had ripped out an old deck and were left with an area of dirt. We talked about ripping out our old concrete patio because there were cracks and it was uneven. We decided that it would be too big of a job for "weekend warriors". We received 4 separate quotes. Sphan-Manning by far was the easiest to work with. Robb returned my phone call and set up an estimate appointment the quickest. Also what I really liked about Robb is he's the owner of the company so the night of the estimate appointment I knew how much it would cost if I went with him. I really enjoyed that. Other companies I had to call multiple times and estimates took 2-3 weeks to get after the initial estimate appointment. Of course we decided to start this project in the middle of summer so we understood that it would probably be about 6 weeks before they could get to our job. Also what I liked about Robb is he was really easy to talk to and very patient!!! We thought we had settled on a certain paver but then when I had samples (delivered by Robb) sitting in my back yard, I ended up deciding I didn't like it at all!! Robb was really great about it and brought me additional samples until I found exactly the look I was going for!! Once the installation began it took about a week from start to finish. Sphan-Manning removed our old concrete patio (~500 square feet). I was so impressed with the concrete patio removal-our backyard has limited access and existing flower beds that were around the old concrete patio and deck that we wanted to keep so they busted the concrete apart by hand and hauled it out in wheelbarrows!!! 8 inches of crushed rock, a few inches of sand, and pavers were brought into our backyard via wheelbarrow as well! Robb and his guys are such hard workers!! As the patio went down I was getting more and more excited and knew I had picked the right company!! Overall our project went great and we can't wait to use Robb and his guys again!!!

Everything was done very well. They left the place clean.

Rob and his staff did a great job with our yard. We had three estimates done. I can't recall the final cost but Rob was by far the most reasonable. Overall, the quality of the work was excellent. Our only issue was that we expected that the fire pit area would have a thicker layer of crushed rock than what was installed. We will definitely use Spahn-Manning with any future outdoor needs!

Exceptional work from the beginning of the job until the end. Robb came to the house to provide an estimate and submitted a written proposal to me very punctually. His communication was consistent before and during the project to inform me of project dates and progress made each day. The completed job exceeded my expectations! We have had so many complements on the work. I would highly recommend Spahn-Manning Landscaping!

Robb Manning was great to work with, very professional and did a great job. He was always personally on the job site which I appreciated. I would highly recommend.

I used them because it was just recommendations from others and just had a good feeling about the quote and everything.

Provider called back and when I mentioned the lawn installation was for a new construction home, he sounded disinterested. He said he is just interested in doing hardscaping now. I felt a little like he just didn't want my business, which was annoying because I saw that his Angie's List profile says he does lawn installation.

From start to finish, the job was great. Robb was extremely professional, fast and informative. We scheduled our installation and he fit it in during early November, before winter really got started. His guys were in and out in less than 2 days. We had our front walkway and stoop re-done with brussels block pavers.

They got the job done amazingly quick and it looks great! Very happy with the work and the guys that were out here doing the job. Nice crew! Can't wait to use the patio this summer. Would definitely use them again.

I called quite a few landscaping companies to come out and do an estimate to install pavers and Robb was one of the few who actually responded and came out to give me an estimate. He gave me an estimate right on the spot and I ended up deciding to go with him. I realized that with the few estimates that I got that is was a very busy time for landscapers so I understood that it would take awhile to get the project completed. I was very happy when the project was completed. It looks great and they finished it all in one day. This was an excellent experience and I will absolutely recommend Spahn-Manning to others in the future.

They put in a Brussel block sidewalk and soldiers trim around 2 garden areas. It looks great and it gave are front yard a face lift.
