I completed an order online for a new garage door and opener. The next day, a guy came to measure for the new garage door. $1700+ was charged to my credit card. A week later, I hadn’t heard anything nor had I received a quote or contract. I called the store. I was put on hold for ten minutes and finally hung up. I emailed. No response. I sent a Facebook message. I received a response asking for the order number. I replied I didn’t have one, and hadn’t heard from anybody. No response. So I finally filled out a dispute for the charge. When completed, it said it would take 60-90 days. I guess they aren’t in a hurry to do anything except take my money.

From start to finish, this project went very smoothly. Updates to alert me to service were very helpful. Significant savings on my heating bill resulted from installation of new windows.

It's close to my house. They have a friendly staff. They are very helpful when you find something. It's a pretty large store. It's well-organized. It's a clean store. Overall, it's a nice store. I think they're reasonable. I don't think they're the least expensive. I use them because of convenience. They don't always have everything a small hardware store has.

I worked with Francis. She indicated they did not have the specific dryer I was looking for in the store, but they had it on line. She ordered it and gave us her full attention. She explained well what we would need and that it would be delivered and installed. It all worked perfectly. Francis was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I would go back again.

The store manager Brian Brooks and the 2 assistant managers, Amy and Matt were outstanding and worked so hard for us to get us the right product. The mistake was not their fault at all but they went above and beyond to help us. There is always someone available to answer any questions you have and they are so nice and polite. They gave us a discount on the final rug that we got and they didn't have to do that.

Everything looks beautiful, their clean-up was thorough and they were very professional.

The ordering process in the store went very well. Unlike some of my other visits to Home Depot, the employees in Millwork were very knowledgable and were very thorough in explaining the install process to me. There were a few hiccups in the pricing and order dates due to being a special order door, but I chalk that up more to computer error than human. As for the independent contractor who installed the door, although he did a good job installing the actual doors, I do have a few complaints about him. I don't think he did a very good job explaining to me what he was doing or what he was installing. He would ask me questions and use door terminology instead of just showing me. These installers have to remember that we are just average customers who may or may not know anything about the install. Mainly, that's the reason they're doing the install instead of me. However, my biggest complaint with this contractor and usually is with most installers, is cleanup. This is where the professional grade comes in. The install was for my front door that leads into my living room. There was so much dust from cutting the walls to fit the new door that it got all over my living room furniture, walls, and floor. He did his best to cleanup the area around the door, but it was by no means complete. I just don't understand why he couldn't have hung plastic up between the foyer where the door is located and the living room. That would have prevented the majority of dust from traveling. I would use this installer again, but I definitely would be more clear up front of my expectations.

Planning was good, really liked person we worked with but he left store in midst of our project. Things didn't fit correctly, multple delays, multiple subcontractors (plumber the WORST) who were incredibly unresponsive. Would NOT use them again. Look elsewhere!

Picked out flooring and asked HD to come out and measure for installation. Bill, the floor guy at HD was very helpful. It was after that it became apparent HD is very limited in what they will do, although they never tell you that. They said we need a sub-floor (we don't according to another company) and they simply would not do the job. I would have expected a price increase for a sub-floor, but that wasn't even an option. It took me 3 calls to the expeditor, Candy, to get any info. She never contacted me as promised. It took another 3 calls to recieve a $35 credit on the measurement fee because they pulled out of the deal, we didn't. It actually worked out well, because I found another company that I am very happy with.

Everything seemed to go well when they installed the doors. However, one of the doors seemed to snap shut and close very quickly I had a guest whose pant leg became trapped and ripped. The door tore out the screen, which I had to have repaired, and now the hinge is broken. When I called for customer service, my call was routed to India. They are mailing me a part that I am to install myself, but I will most likely need to call for assistance. The installation was just fine, but the use of the product itself is awkward. The doors looks good, but they are problematic you really need both hands on the door to hold it open wide enough without it slamming shut on you. If I had known, I would have gone another way with the doors.

I met with Home Depot on a Friday morning, with hopes to have our doors installed in 20 days or less, in order to meet our project time line. I sat in their door department for fifteen minutes waiting for someone to help-- after I'd already pushed the "help in this department button" several times. The door specialist finally came and helped me order the doors, for which I said I would like to have them install. I had a very specific need for a fire door, he did not correctly load the order, and tried to get me to sign it on "trusting him" that it was in fact a fire door. I insisted that I wasn't some idiot woman, he needed to show me manufacturing specs on the order which stated it was in fact a 20-min fire door. Once he went back in to check it, he realized his mistake and had to rebuild the order. It cost me $150 more than his original quote. He offered no discount. Next, he explained that the measuring team would have to come out and measure, and that would occur in the next three days. On the fourth day we got a call late in the afternoon that they needed to come by tonight to measure. We rearranged our schedule for them to do so. Two days later I called Home Depot to find out when my doors would be installed. They said "the contractor has not measured them yet?" I explained they had in fact been there on Tuesday night. They didn't make any attempt to right the situation-- they just defended their contractor to me (like it was my problem, not theirs) saying, "Our contractor has three business days to get us the measurements." Of course, to the customer, this is SEVEN business days since they took 4 days just to call us to schedule the measure. At this point, our doors weren't even ordered-- and that standard sized fire door was, according to Home Depot, a "special order" item. I explained the schedule would create problems for our tile installation team, and the assistant manager of the Home Depot told the door department guy to tell me "you shouldn't schedule any other work until you have product in hand." He wouldn't even talk to me himself. Later the door contractor told me that they did in fact fax the door measurements to the Home Depot store, twice, and that Home Depot had lost it. It took four days for the fax to make it to Home Depot, finally-- and by then it was Labor Day weekend, and no doors could be ordered until Tuesday. The Home Depot door guy called me to tell me that the door installation would cost us $500 more than the original quote, about 10 days behind. Two weeks later, I got a call from the installation contractor, who wanted to come out the very next day to install the doors. At this point, we had already done 1/2 of Home Depot's work for them, ripping out old door frame and threshold just so the tile team could do their work ahead of the door install. Home Depot's door installation guy told me I should think about rescheduling that tile guy. I was furious. We finally got the doors installed-- total time: 28 days.

They did an excellent job. They came when they said they would. I had a lot of flowers around the house and they did a good job of protecting them. They went around with a magnet to pick up nails. There was one small thing that my son noticed and they came right back and took care of it. I was very pleased with them.

A home depot contractor came and gave us a quote some $3000 beyond what any other roofing contractor told us we would have to pay.

I thought they were a little too pricey for what we were looking for. We decided against them as we feel we can find a better price elsewhere.

Installation of these doors was very unsatisfactory. The doors that were ordered were the incorrect size after the installing company measured them incorrectly. The doors took 3 days to install, and still weren't completed. It took 13 days for the installer to return (and he was 1.5 hours late), but he was only here a few hours and the doors still need work. One door sticks horribly. One door knob was broken, and we had to replace it ourselves. Several door knobs have parts missing and Home Depot was going to see if they could order the parts, but we have heard nothing from them. Overall, a very bad experience.

My experience with Ken Johnson from Home Depot was outstanding. When I went to H.D. to look at ranges, I had a particular price range and color in mind. However, the price range I wanted did not have the color. Ken informed me that a sale would be coming up that weekend and that with the sale price, he would give me the next appliance up in quality for the price I was looking for which came in the color I wanted. I ended up with a better deal, (rebate for free installation / free haul away), great price and excellent service from installation crew. The range was available for delivery in a somewhat reasonable time, (1 1/2 weeks). The delivery crew was very prompt, friendly and professional. I would definitely work with Home Depot for appliance purchases and installation again.

This was our first experience with a big box service installation. I'm pleased to say that it went very well. We were drawn in by the pricing. We were only looking to replace the carpet in one bedroom (we have hardwood floors and tile in most of the rest of the house) but didn't want to have to pay a lot. Home Depot actually had several different styles and options and the sales person there was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain all of the different options and ask us questions on what we wanted in style, color, traffic patterns, etc. The installation went very smoothly however, it did take several weeks before it could be completed. The 2 guys that came out were very quick, did a great job and the room looks great. Just be prepared to wait awhile (5-6 weeks) between the time of purchase and the install. Not a problem for us as we were also waiting on new furniture to be delivered, but I could see how it might be an issue for others.

I FOUND THE SALES STAFF TO BE FRIENDLY AT HOME DEPOT. MY PROBLEM OCCURRED AFTER I HAD PLACED THE ORDER. LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER I ORDERED MY APPLIANCES, AND PRIOR TO THEM BEING DELIVERED, I SAW THE SAME STOVE ADVERTISED BY A COMPETITOR AT A LOWER PRICE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER REFUSED TO GIVE ME A PRICE ADJUSTMENT. ALSO, THEY WERE OFFERING A STORE CREDIT BASED ON THE DOLLAR AMOUNT SPENT ON APPLIANCES-THIS SPECIAL WAS ALSO ANNOUNCED WHEN THE OTHER STORE BEGAN SELLING THE SAME STOVE FOR LESS MONEY. I ASKED THE MANAGER TO GIVE ME THE CREDIT, AND HER RESPONSE WAS "NO WAY, ABSOLUTELY NOT, NO, YOU WOULD HAVE TO CALL CORPORATE BUT THEY ARE JUST GOING TO TELL YOU NO ANYWAY SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT BOTHER." I MENTIONED TO HER THAT I HAD JUST PURCHASED MY FIRST HOUSE, AND THE $3000 I HAD JUST SPENT AT HD WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF WHAT I NEEDED TO SPEND AT A HARDWARE STORE, AND SHE STILL DID NOT CARE. IT WAS HER EXTREME RUDENESS THAT WAS REMARKABLE, ESP. SINCE SHE WAS THE MANAGER.

WE WERE A LITTLE NERVOUS TO UNDERTAKE SUCH A BIG TASK AS REFINISHING HARDWOOD FLOORS. THE RENTAL DEPARTMENT WAS VERY HELPFUL IN PROVIDING US TIPS AND INFORMATION. THEY RECOMMENDED A DIFFERENT SANDER THAN WE CHOSE BUT THEY STILL HELPED ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS WHEN THINGS WEREN'T GOING AS SMOOTHLY AS WE HAD HOPED.
