Description of Work: had 2 new furnaces installed in my duplex. owner came out to give me an estimate, did not try to over sell me, actually suggested a lower cost option for one of my units. installers were punctual and professional. price was well below some other estimates that I received. only minor complaint is the installers didn't completely caulk the seam of the new duct work on one of the units. not a big deal though, I just sealed it up with some sheet metal tape. overall good experience.

+ -1 moreWe had just purchased our house in July and knew the furnace needed to be replaced. We decided to install central air conditioning (the house previously only had window units) at the same time as installing a new furnace. The price we were quoted for both furnace and A/C was lower than 2 other quotes we received, and Mike was courteous and even provided some electrical advice while he was here for the estimate. On the scheduled day for the furnace and A/C installation, they arrived within the 30-minute window we were given and finished a little earlier than expected. We were asked our preferences in location of the air conditioning unit as well as some wiring in the basement. When they were done they cleaned up and made sure everything was back in place, with the exception of some installation that was left out so the work could be inspected later by the city.
Description of Work: Replaced an old furnace with a new high-efficiency furnace and installed a new central air conditioning system.

+ -1 moreit went great. My mom had an air conditioner installed june 21, 2012. He made the process very easy and quick. Mark quickly gave us a estimate. It matched the online quote. It was done within the time allowed because my mother was going on vacation after the quote was done. It was done 2 days later after she got back. They were professional all the way. They cleaned up and went above and beyond. They said it would be done by 3pm. And it was. Dan and his partner explained how it worked. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: We had an air conditioner installed on june 21, 2012. Mark responded quickly for the estimate. It took less than 15 minutes. We scheduled the installation a week after my mother's vacation. 2 days later, It was installed. The Customer service was great. He said it would be done by 3pm. And it was. Dan & his partner went above & beyond. Made sure everything was put back together. He Explained everything very well. The quote done online matched the price i paid. I would definitely use them again.

+ 0 moreAllied was very easy to work with. They have an online cost quote application, which is unique among HVAC contractors in our area. We spoke with a few other contractors, and had one other contractor do an in-home estimate. Allied's quote came in at least $2,000 cheaper than the competition, for better equipment (higher efficiency unit, more services included, for less money). They are a no-BS kind of place. They will ask you straight up (but nicely) if you're really planning to buy, or just browsing for prices. They are a growing business and are hiring new technicians this year, and they do a ton of business in our area. We had to play phone tag back and forth a little in order to set up our in-home estimate, but Mark at Allied always called back in a timely fashion and was always readily familiar with us by name and our situation. Great service. They also made it easy to finance and easy to buy, taking care of all the paperwork. They were great! Update as of 7/30/12: rating B for and quot;professionalismand quot;, not because of Mark the main contact but on behalf of the techs. The first time out they forgot to ground the AC box, which was not dangerous but did not pass inspection by the city for closing the electrical permit. They had to return to correct this minor omission, and upon that visit forgot to flip the breaker for the AC back on. Minor issues but a little inconvenient.
Description of Work: Allied removed a 1960's forced air gas furnace and replaced it with a new 96% efficient, 60,000 BTU, multi-speed, 2 stage, forced air Bryant gas furnace. They also installed a new 2-ton Bryant air conditioner, where no AC had existed previously. They installed PVC piping for intake/venting of the new furnace, installed a chimney liner and adjusted the chimney cap to ensure proper venting for the gas water heater, and configured all electrical for the two units. All of this came out to a total of just over $5,000. We were able to negotiate one year of financing at 0%, with the financing fee waived, by putting down $2,500 upon installation.

+ -1 moreI found Allied Heating and AC on Angie’s list. Based on the reviews of other satisfied customers, I called to make an appointment. Mark, the owner/operator, came over at the agreed upon time to view the work I wanted done. Based on my input, he made recommendations for the most efficient and cost effective way to achieve my objectives. Since the work was to be performed on a rental/ investment property cost was a factor as was reliability and future maintenance. After having received four estimates, I decided to go with Allied Heating not because their bid was the lowest (although it was very comparable) but due to the local support and service I felt they would offer, if needed, in the future. On the agreed upon time a team of technicians showed up exactly on schedule and went right to work. In a little less than two days the job was completed. Mark charged the exact amount as quoted. He and his team of technicians were professional in every sense and left no mess of any sorts. I was extremely pleased with the quality of their work and would highly recommend Allied Heating to others. I felt Marks quoted price was fair for the work performed and the products provided. In summary Allied Heating added value to my property at a competive price.

Not only did they give me a great deal and expert installation on my original purchase and ndash; they have had great follow up service and customer support. In a time when many businesses turn their back on you after your purchase, Mark, the owner of Allied, has personally contacted me to make sure I am happy with my furnace and that it is working properly. After his last contact I set up an appointment for a service check and tune up. They were able to set up an appointment around my schedule and they arrived exactly on time. The service tech inspected, tweaked, cleaned and tuned up my furnaces to maintain its high efficiency. Again, at an unbeatable price. I have owned a number of homes, and dealt with many heating contractors, but none of them could match the great pricing and exceptional customer service of Mark and Allied. I only wish I had found them sooner.

I was skeptical if this was a "bait and switch" tactic to get in the door, and then they'd start adding in the extras, but no, the price quoted was the final price of the full installation. I wanted a particular thermostat that was non-standard, they provided it at the same price as an online source, and installed it with the furnace at no extra charge. Very neat installation.

They were prompt, professional and courteous. They even walked me throught the government rebate process which saved me a lot of time, trouble and money. They have had great follow up to make sure my furnace is running properly. I have not had even the slightest problem with my furnace since it was installed. I have recommended them to all my friends and family who need heating or cooling.
Description of Work: I had Allied replace my furnace with a new 95 effecient furnace. They gave me a great price and were very friendly and helpful when it came to making the proper choice for my heating needs.

Description of Work: To repair my boiler under a new buyers home warranty from Shorewest Realtors. the day after I closed on my home. The day after I closed at 9 pm , the following day I went to the house in the morning to prepare for cleaning and what not and had no heat. It was single digit weather. I called them as Shorewest said I should (they are on one on their list. ) . I called about 10 am. They did not show up til the early afternoon, around 2pm. and he found a bad switch and said he would go to the shop to find one if they maybe had one. At that time I wrote him a $75.00 check which was my deductible on the home warranty. I went back to my old home because I was tired of trying to stay warm in my car. They called me at about 4:30 pm and said that I was not covered under the home warranty because the the furnace had not been properly cleaned/maintained etc... and would not be returning, Mark the owner said I needed a new pump in addition to the switch and I was not covered. He said they had other regulars to take care of. They left me hanging with no heat with a new home to me and walked away with $75.00. never to return. I was devastated. I had just purchased this nice home. So I called the old owner and he said he had kept up the cleaning of the boiler and had records and did not understand how this could be so. he had records and everything and the home passed the inspection with flying colors. They left me high and dry with no heat in freezing temps and could have cared less. So I alone set out to find space heaters and set them around the house for the evening. The following day I got another HVAC pro over to my new home and he replaced the switch he purchased from a local vender for $80.00 and NO new pump and I have been good ever since. The new guy said the furnace was not neglected as Allied stated. I stopped payment on the check I wrote them. After that Allied sent me a bill for $179.50 and threatened to file a lien on my property. I called them when I got the letter and he still insisted that I needed a new pump even tho it has been working fine. I told him to take me to court. Have not a word from him since. Maybe because I am a single woman he thought he get one over. But what a horrible experience that was.

+ -1 moreTotal price could not be beat by the other two bidders. One bidder, a very respectable firm, could not believe the price. Installed days earlier than promised during heat wave. Kyle and Dan, the installers were punctual, efficient and friendly, work all done in less than than one day. Dan even helped quickly solve an unrelated electrical problem. The owner, Mark, was down to earth, honest, and wanted the business.The only negative was some confusion at the end of the install about who was to warrantly register the A/C unit with Lennox online, resolved later that day. Would recommend to anyone wanting great value, service, and a respectful company.

+ -1 moreThe service man was on time and professional in his manner. He also answered a few questions I had about how to improve our heating and cooling efficiency. I gave an "A" for price, although I have no idea if their fee was expensive. It consisted of a $60 service call, and $60 to fill the system and check hoses. I was very satisfied with the experience, and will call them again as the need arises.
Description of Work: AC went out. The unit was running, but not blowing cold air. We ended needing to have our freon stores replaced. Allied also checked hoses for leaks and an overall inspection of the system.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with their service from the start/estimate to the finish. Mark, the owner, went the extra mile when he came to do the estimate for the new units. We described the issues, as well as indicating that this home would be put on the market soon. He came up with a reasonable package to replace the 55 year old furnace with a more efficient (80%) and cost effective Lennox. Included in this package was a new Lennox A/C as the old one no longer cooled the house. The employees who came to do the install, Dave and Kyle, were friendly, knowledgable and very professional in their work. They completed the complete job in one day. I was amazed how well they cleaned up as well removed the old units with no difficulty. Kyle went over the operation, registration and warranties prior to leaving. Overall I was very pleased with the service I received, even with the slight delay in arrival. I am glad I found this company using Angie's List.
Description of Work: Replaced both the furnace and air conditioner. Modified the electric service to move the furnace from a shared to a completely separate breaker. Also corrected a code violation found with the old furnace. Added new vent opening in chimney stack.

+ -1 moreDuring our record-breaking mini heat wave in June, my central air stopped working. As I have a very low tolerance for heat, this constituted an emergency situation for me and I needed to get it repaired as soon as possible. The company I usually use for my furnace and A/C maintenance was unable to find an appointment time for me until the following week, so I called Allied. They too were swamped with calls; however, they really worked to squeeze me into their schedule the following day. Mark, the owner, was very responsive to my needs and ended up giving me an excellent price for the work performed, even though it was after hours and considered "emergency" service. And Tim, the technician who did the repairs, was absolutely wonderful. Not only did he quickly diagnose and fix the problem but he also answered several questions I had about my A/C and furnace. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I plan to use Allied for all future maintenance and repairs.

Description of Work: From beginning to the end of the process of purchasing a new furnace and air conditioning unit, Allied was exceptional. Not only were they professional, and thorough but down to earth, with no high sales pitch agenda. Mark showed outstanding knowledge of his products and the price and installation were exactly as promised. The installation men arrived promptly. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and their cleanup was terrific. They explained everything to me in a way that I could understand, especially how to work the programmable thermostat. This company and it's staff are A++; I would highly recommend them to anyone for the HVAC needs.

He explained that he did not have the part and that he would need to reschedule an appointment after the part was received (this was an old boiler). The representative was very helpful and I would be happy to work with the company in the future. We wound up using a company recommended by neighbors and friends, but would certainly refer others to this company in the future based on their punctuality and responsiveness.

When that didn't work he had a man come out and take care of us. He was the first to put shoe covers on so he didn't track the floor. I thought that was very nice. He got us heat again.I felt that the repair cost was very fair. Thank you very much.
Description of Work: My furnace wasn't working so I called Allied. They came out and repaired my furnace. It was getting cold very quickly inside my house. My wife and I are, lets just say not as young as we used to be, so the cold affects us more. As usual the man that came out made the repair in a timely manor. I was happy with the charges and was relieved that I didn't need a new furnace. Thank you.

His man called me when he was on his way and was there when he said. He found the problem very quickly and had us up and running in no time. I will always use Allied for all my heating and air conditioning needs. Thanks again from us to all at Allied.
Description of Work: My air conditioner broke down, I was refered to Allied by someone else that used them. They came out very quickly and made the repair on the first visit. My wife has breathing problems and they took that very seriously to get us up and running again. It was a electrical component in the outside unit that was the problem. The man that came out was awsome. I couldn't be more satisfied with the service I got. The price was right too. They could have charged me anything and I would have paid it because of our dire situation, they were very reasonable on the cost as well. Thank you very much from both of us.

The whole process was held up by the warranty, but it was not their doing. The price was reasonable and they were very punctual.

+ -1 moreFirst, I'm apparently a harsh consumer because I believe when a firm does the job you paid them to do it it warrants perhaps a C or B grade. I expect them to perform the job so doing the job does not warrant an excellent rating - simply good or average. You'd expect anyone hired to do the job they are being paid for so that alone doesn't up the grade. Second, I loathe home warranty companies. I was extremely pleased with Allied and I would use them again outside of the warranty. They were easily contacted and willing to work out a very convenient time. They arrived on time, were very professional and thorough and did the work with extra care. They took the time to explain things and I believe put in the extra effort or extra something that gives them grades up. The service call went quickly and without issue and all is running well. I entered $0 for the price because it was through the warranty company. Price - I can't really comment since this was through the warranty company. Quality - It seemed to me they took extra care and effort in doing the job right and making sure everything was working. Responsiveness - Easy to contact. Home warranty company has the supplier contact you and they did so immediately when the warranty company opened the case. Punctuality - they arrived on the dot, ready to get the job done Professionalism - the worker was great, completely personable, taking time to explain, etc Overall - I've only done a few reviews and this is the first I've given several A's to. Like I said, for me, there has to be something more than just doing the job and sometimes that's intangible, but I feel Allied deserves it as they did the job with extra care. I was not familiar with the company prior to this, but would contact them for services outside of the warranty in the future.
