Our front sidewalk was sinking again & we were going to have to replace it for the 3rd time. We contacted Dale Schultz Masonry who came out to give us a quote. He was concerned about WHY the sidewalk kept sinking & recommended Dave Schreiner to excavate & determine what was underneath the sidewalk. Additional fill would also need to be brought in to correct the grade. After Dave Schreiner removed the existing sidewalk & started digging, he showed us why our sidewalks had continued to sink. The soil was a jiggly wet rock filled clay & when he would lift up a scoop, it wiggled like "jell-o". The more he removed, the more collapsed in & had to be removed. He had anticipated a small job & wound up with a huge job. Even though he was very busy with larger commercial jobs, he and his son Kevin would come & work on our project into the evenings. They were always pleasant to have around and made what could have been a nightmare a fun time. They prepared the site for the concrete and after that part of the job was done, they came back & finished. We now have a beautiful front walk & patio that we will enjoy for years to come without any fear of its sinking again. Dave & Kevin Schreiner were so nice they felt like family. If we ever have another project that requires excavating, we would want Schreiner Construction on the job!
