Description of Work: We had Dusty Hamland and his crew do a wheelchair ramp, sidewalk and steps, workshop slab floor, and a large patio. We used dusty 2 years to do this work. His crew of helpers were nothing more than the lowest paid common denominator. Is the work was okay until we got to the workshop slab and patio. The patio was the worst and should have been torn out and replaced but was not. He did patchwork after patch work after patch work until finally settling and paying $7,500 back to us for the patio. I would never use or recommend Hamland construction again.

Description of Work: Removed & replaced old, crumbling concrete front stoop, with new concrete 36" landing, 7 feet wide & 2 iron hand rails. Removed & replaced concrete sidewalk from front stoop to city walk, including 3 riser steps. Dumpster included. |Work started when promised, weather permitting. Dustin was a good person to deal with & professional. He has experience & knowledge with replacing concrete stairs involving older homes. After installation, Dustin found an issue with the riser steps, which I would not have noticed, and corrected the problem. He also saved costs by reinstalling railings that were in good condition, on riser steps. I was very satisfied with his work & would recommend Hamland Construction for concrete replacement services.

Description of Work: Dustin provided excellent service for our 1918 home in St. Paul that needed a fair amount of mortar tuck pointing. After the first round of work, we identified areas that still needed addressing. Dustin and an experienced mason came on-site two days later and took care of all the areas that concerned us. We're very happy to have no holes in the foundation for critters to explore!

+ -1 moreAlthough the estimate from Dustin Hamland was not the lowest, Dustin's explanation of just what he would do, how and when the work would be done, convinced both my wife and me that we should select him to do the job. Dustin and his crew worked hard and steadily to remove the old concrete, then to place the necessary forms, prepare well the base, and finally to pour and finish the concrete. On the day the concrete was poured, there were enough concrete finishers present to insure that the work would be done very expeditiously. Hamland Construction did our concrete job in a considerate and most-professional manner, from start to finish. I have already recommended them to several neighbors who are considering concrete work; and I am confident that whoever has work done by Hamland Construction will be very satisfied with the results.
Description of Work: Hamland Construction removed and replaced our concrete front stoop and all the walkways in the yard. Completion of the job included seeding (and covering with straw) some of the lawn disrupted by the work.

+ -1 moreIt went really well. They had to use a jackhammer because it was so thick. All debris was removed, no damage to lawn from hauling concrete around the house.
Description of Work: They removed two large concrete slabs that were pushing against my foundation wall in the backyard. Slabs were approximately 4' x 6' and at least 4" thick.

Description of Work: The old limestone portion of my foundation (inside and outside) was tuck-pointed and some holes filled in. The interior wall was sparged (grouted).

+ -1 moreWe were rebuilding our deck and the person that was suppose to dig and pour the footers backed out on us at the last minute. I contacted Hamland Construction and Dustin was able to fit us into his schedule on very short notice. He accomodated our schedule, working over the weekend to get the site ready for building inspector. He was pleasent to work with and we passed the building inspection with flying colors. I would definitely work with Hamland again!

+ -1 moreMinor delay (1 1/2 days) on start time due to backlog from weather. Simple job went as expected. It took a couple days and a phone call to have the various people pick up remaining tools and materials but they were responsive and very courteous. All in all I was very happy with the experience and wouldn't hesitate to use them again for similar work.
Description of Work: Removed pavers and poured 2 ft wide x 49ft long sidewalk in backyard on top of ~ 4 inch class five gravel base. Reseeded and sodded as needed.

Arrived when he said he would and the job took the amount of time quoted. Very professional. I will use him again when I'm ready to do the rest of the basement.
Description of Work: Scraped loose concrete from walls in half the basement. Patched all cracks and holes.
