Response from Hamland Construction Co
This project was declined prior to receiving the contract or down payment. We arrived on time to meet and review the project. The customer was looking to hire a contractor to remove and replace existing driveway. The customer expressed concern about the potential damage to an invisible dog fence that ran through his existing driveway. Due to the need to utilize heavy equipment to break up and remove the pre-existing driveway, the customer was informed that damage to the dog fence could not be avoided. The customer was provided a bid with the understanding that the fence system would be cut, removed, and replaced within the scope of this project. However, despite making it known that this work would require cutting and removing the invisible dog fence that ran through the driveway, the customer continued to request that the fence not be cut: "Just make very sure you do not cut the wire for my invisible dog fence." We strive to meet our customer's needs. Unfortunately, this customer's expectation to complete this project successfully and avoid any damage to the invisible fence was beyond our scope. As such, the project was declined prior to receiving the contract or a down payment. Best of luck to this homeowner as he continues his search for a contractor that can provide him with the services to complete the project.
