 + -1 moreI've worked with a number of service firms/contractors over the years, and I have not worked with any firm that was as solid and reputable as Aspen Garage Door. Pat is phenomenal...honest, trustworthy, a man of his word, and focused on providing the highest level of service and quality that anyone could ever ask for. He had done a spring repair for me in June, and we talked about my need for a new garage door opener down the road. Pat did not try to hard sell me, and indicated I did not need one right away. Well now in October, I decided it was time to get a new one installed before winter set in, so I called Aspen and they were able to come in within 2 days, which was great timing, and provided me with a new WiFi capable opener. Pat answered all my questions, went over the instruction manual with me and insured I understood all the options the opener provided, along with how to use/access them. Pat did a great job, and I could not be any happier or pleased with the results. The opener is great, does everything I wanted it to do, and was very affordable. Pat and Aspen are what all companies should be, and I only wish they did other things outside of garage doors because I would use them for anything I needed help or repair with, as they are a pure pleasure to work with. If you have a garage door need and don't contact them, you are doing yourself a major disservice. They are the best of the best, and you won't be sorry!

 + -1 moreAspen Garage Door was super great. Called on a Friday, got an appointment for Monday morning. He actually called and was able to come early (awesome!). He let us know upfront that he could tear apart the unit for 200 or 300 or just replaced the old unit. We opted to replace it, WHICH HE RIGHT THEN! Replaced our broken door opener, added some safety equipment to our other door, replaced the opener on the wall and replaced the outside keypad. Great, quick service. Would 100% recommend. Thanks!

 + -1 moreWe got a bid and accepted the offer. In May of 2019, we called Aspen asking if the job was going to be completed. Aspen assured us that the job would be completed, but no confirmed start date. The May call was followed by three more calls throughout the summer each consisting of the same discussion and conclusion. From the last call, they assured us the job would be done before winter. In September, I wrote them one last time letting them know that I would have to write a negative Angie's List review if we did not hear back from them. It is now October 22, 2019. I am not sure why a company that has 100 "A" Angie's List ratings would choose not to complete this job or at least stay touch with a customer.

 + -1 moreCalled a number of garage door companies but the owner/operator of Aspen was the first to call back. He went over the likely cost and explained the overtime cost of coming on Saturday afternoon which we were comfortable with. He was here within 30 minutes (amazing) and the job was completed within an hour. This is an owner operated business and having worked with other garage door companies where a subcontractor or employee is sent out, you feel reassured when you meet him that you are going to be treated fairly and with respect.

It works beautifully and looks great (or will when we get the house repainted to go with the new garage door color choice). Pat Deppen was a pleasure to work with and if I have any troubles of any kind in the future involving my garage door or opener, his company will get the first call.

 + -1 moreI called Aspen to make an appointment and they talked me through the problem and then recommended I replace it myself as it would cost quite a bit more to have them do it and my family member was involved in repair work and had experience. They gave me a recommendation for brand and type and told me I could call them back during our install and ask any questions and they'd talk me through it. Incredible customer service for someone who wasn't even giving them any money! I'd hire them in an instant for any work I need done in the future. That was a very trustworthy thing to do. It shows that they value their reputation in the community.

 + -1 moreOur existing garage door was unexpectedly ruined on the night of Christmas Eve. We called the owner on Christmas Day and he spoke with my husband, telling him he could come early the next day (the 26th). He came exactly when he said he would and miraculously put our existing garage door back together so we at least had some security while we waited for our new door, which he ordered. (He got the old door in fair working condition; we had to open it, close it, and lock it manually.) He came back when he said he would and put the new garage door up. It is beautiful and, as far as we can tell, beautifully installed. We had one problem with the inside door hitting the track of the new overhead door, and he came out right away and fixed it. We had no problems at all, and we were grateful for his help.

 + -1 moreMy new door came yesterday. It is beautiful. Pat and his partner's son did an amazing job. Pat made sure my garage door opener was working properly with the new door. It is amazing to find a company that is ethical and caring.
Description of Work: Pat Deppen of Aspen Garage Doors is my hero. My garage door saga started 4 months prior when my garage door broke and I unfortunately called a different company to repair it. That different company replaced cables and put on a new spring. Two months later my garage door opener broke. I bought a new one and had that installed. My installer couldn't get the wall mount opener to work. He thought it was defective, so I had to call the company and had a new one shipped. When my new one came it still wouldn't open the door. Crazy thing was the remotes worked. I was going round and round with the garage door opener company and my installer. Then on a very cold morning at 430 am my garage door broke again. The track was twisted, the rollers came out and the panels were all wonky. I called the original company that repaired my door 3 months prior. They came out to look at it. They said the door was beyond repair. I asked if I could get a discount on a new door because I just paid $600 three months prior. The answer was a big fat no. Fortunately this is when I found Aspen Garage Doors. Pat could hear the frustration and desperation in my voice. He came to my house at 4:00 that night. He walked into my garage and found the problem withing 30 seconds. The first company had put on a too heavy of spring. That is why my door failed the second time and that is what stressed my aging garage door opener to fail. Pat worked on my door for 2 hours to just provide a temporary fix until I could get a new door place. He also worked on my garage door opener. When he left, I was able to open the door and park my car inside. Guess what was wrong with the wall mount... The over-size spring was putting so much tension on the door that the opener couldn't work properly.

He came by the house the day that I called to give me an estimate and was back the next day to do the work, even calling me in the morning to let me know that he would be half an hour late. Once here, he worked quickly and left no mess behind. In addition, Pat not only explained to me how the new system works, but he also identified issues that might crop in the future since my garage door is well over 20 years old. I would definitely call on him again and recommend his services to others.

 + -1 moreThe spring on our garage door failed Thanksgiving Day. With no backup spring we weren't able to lift the door manually to get our cars out of the garage (too heavy). We called every garage door service we could find on Angie's List and left messages. Aspen was the first to respond on Thanksgiving Day. They gave us the option to have the door repaired that day (for a higher fee) or wait until the next day. We opted to wait. The tech showed up right on time at 8:00am. It took him about an hour to repair (and this time he installed 2 springs, so if one breaks we'll be able to lift the door manually). He also installed a key pad and gave us an estimate (at our request) for a new garage lift. It was a very pleasant experience. And because he was able to come out early that morning we were able to get on the road and enjoy the rest of Thanksgiving holiday out of town as we had planned. THANK YOU ASPEN!!

 + -1 moreA cable on my garage door broke and I ended up with a garage door 3/4 of the way down and bent tracks on a Saturday night. I called Aspen on Sunday morning and left a message, expecting a return call the following week. Within 2 hours Phil from Aspen returned my call, saying he could be there on Monday. I asked if he could just let himself into the partially open garage and he was good with that. I explained what the situation was and Phil quoted me a price and assured me he would call if the price would be more than that. When I arrived home Monday afternoon the garage door was fixed and actually runs smoother than before. The price was as quoted. A job well done and the prompt service was much appreciated. I will recommend and use this service provider for any future needs.

Description of Work: We had problems with the door not closing right. Gave Aspen a call and Patrick came out later that very same day. We needed to have the sensors replaced. He put new sensors on, checked the door for proper operation and lubed all the rollers. He also helped me program a new door key pad; which was a last minute request.

The first time a spring broke and i couldn't even open the garage door manually. Patrick was kind enough to come over after hours and fix the door so that I would be able to get my car out for work the next day. The next two times that I called for service they were over that same day to redo the wiring. They are very professional, competent and now have a lifetime customer. Great service and great business.

 + -1 moreI called Aspen on Thursday afternoon and they were here at 9 am the following morning. Arranging the service call on the phone was very easy and the service call was great. They are very personable and knowledgeable. I had a number of questions about my garage door and they clearly answered all of them with good information. This is the second time that we have used Aspen Garage Door and both times they were great. I give them my highest rating and would not hesitate to use them for any future garage door or opener issues.
Description of Work: One of the springs broke on our double garage door and the door crashed down from about 2 feet up. The door weighs about 300 lbs we were told. Aspen Garage Door replaced BOTH springs, and readjusted the garage door opener, and checked out all the components of the door and garage door opener.
