The Cleaning Authority - Brookfield

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!! Not fully sure what they did in 3.5 hours. I asked for a deep clean for new owners when selling my house. They sent over two cleaners. The house was empty of all furniture, so no dusting, etc. They did a general clean of the half bathroom upstairs. Never touched the inside of the cabinets had to clean those myself. Did not vacuum upstairs, had to do it myself. First floor did not go into any of the bedrooms, hallway, etc. Cleaned the bathroom on first floor again never touched the inside of the cabinet until I pointed it out during walkthrough. The front of the bathtub was never cleaned, the handle and spout in shower had to be re cleaned by myself. I had to redo the toilet as well as parts of the floor. Mirror, light shades never touched. They never cleaned a single window, the baseboards fortunately were already done in the living room by my son because they did not clean any of those. The kitchen sink and behind the sink still was dirty. I had to have them come back because they never cleaned out the refrigerator , stove, microwave and cabinets like I asked. I was charged $550 for a job that I had to go back and redo most of the work! On top of that I had to clean all the windows. I called to complain , was told to calm down by woman on phone and maybe she would be more apt to help me. I was told a manager would get back to me, have not received any contact. I thought I was hiring a professional cleaning business to provide a professional service. I do not expect perfection, but I was told during the initial consultation that cleaners were thorough in a deep clean. I was told they used things like toothbrushes around fixtures and that they prided themselves on details. I saw none of this!!!! Find a better cleaning service.

Cleaning was average not anything I couldn't have done. Not a big wow factor.

It was fine. They're a standard and large corporation of housecleaning company. They were fine.

Everything was spotless. No perfume like other cleaners.

Owner and staff were very polite & accommodating. They cleaned the house and do a great job every time. The kitchen and bathrooms are always done very well! I had some hard water stains and they took care of it. I have them out every 2 weeks and it makes life so much easier. I used to put off doing the house work and now I don't have to - they take care of it for me!

Seems like most services are the same. They did a great job at first but then start cutting corners to get done more quickly. Missed a lot of details. Never saw a supervisor after the first 6 months. "Deep cleaning" schedule was a joke. Wood work not wiped down, etc. Ceiling fans not cleaned after first few visits. A number of small items were broken and not brought to our attention. When we terminated service, they did not even ask why. I guess they must know. Would not recommend and would not use again.

They were responsive, prompt and professional. They did a great job cleaning and if there's any special request they'd attend it to. I've never had any issues or problems with the staffs that came out. I'm very happy with them having being toys with the house. The owner always gives attentive and there's a person that comes around every few months to check on the cleaners work unannounced. They were tenured people. They care about what they're doing and the satisfaction of their customers.

Pros: The owner and all the staff were very friendly and flexible - if I needed to change a day even with short notice they were always accomodating. I felt very comfortable with leaving the house in their hands. The price was very good. They always came back when asked to re-do work. Cons: We ended the service with them because they just weren't very thorough. For example, standard kitchen cleaning by their handout says that windowsills would be wiped each time, and deep cleaning included dusting the over-table lamps. I had to call them back twice to re-do these tasks, and began leaving notes saying "don't forget to wipe the windowsills". Deep cleaning of a room was supposed to include wiping baseboards, which was never done. I also called them back because they didn't vacuum whole areas of carpet one time. They were not very detail oriented - corners didn't get vacuumed and my vanity mirror often was missed. In the end although they were cheap for such a large house it wasn't worth the money.

They are on a weekly schedule meaning every week, they do different areas of the house. I do it every other week, so my house is not completely until two months. They have four rotations so every time they come, they may do the bathrooms or bedrooms or whatever. When they leave, the whole house has not been cleaned. One time they did not do the baths because it was not the right week. I like my whole house cleaned each time and not in rotations. They also broke the door of our microwave.

I liked their work. Three people would come and leave the house spotless. I ended the relationship with them because I noticed they started missing areas. They were responsive and come back to clean it if I called. One time however, they were eating fruit outside and threw the peels in my yard, which had been clean before. I called and explained and the owner defended them. He said I didn't know that it was them or not. I didn't think it was a good way to treat a customer. There should be a trust relationship when you are letting people in your home while you are not there. I didn't trust them anymore because the owner had no interest in pleasing the customer. This was a small issue, but we didn't want to deal with any larger issues because I feel the owner wouldn't listen to me.

The two to three that come to my house are very nice and friendly. I am comfortable being around them or even leaving them alone in my home. They are friendly to my cats and have even helped my move my cat litter boxes the day before a party. They also sent an extra person to do extra cleaning before this party upon my request with no extra charge. They do a very good job and would definitely recommend them to others.

He spent most of the time telling me what services they DON'T offer! He said they clean all the flat surfaces, but not legs (tables, pianos, etc) they do not move furniture, or other things like toasters, or small appliances. Basically they only clean the exposed surfaces. They have employee dishonesty insurance which would help in case of theft. He said they will send two people out to clean, and not the same people every time, but they will clean around their schedule and not necessarily yours. I want to be in the house when they come to clean, so I wasn't very excited about that. He was very nice and came out and gave me his time, but I am looking for a little more in depth cleaning service.

First, I must say that the owner was very responsive, prompt when I called as far as coming out to give me an estimate in-person. He presented his company well in terms both verbally and with a nice folder of handouts. I must also add that I am very particular about cleaning. So, if you are not, this service may work for you, though there are certainly cheaper options available. We had a private cleaning lady in the past, and use a service occasional as necessity dictates. Personally, I prefer to do my own cleaning because then I know that it is done correctly. The cleaners were scheduled to arrive at 8 am or thereabouts, but did not arrive until 8:45. This was not a big deal, except that we were on a pretty tight timeline to get them out of the house by the time my son went down for a nap. The cleaners introduced them seves but were generally not very personable. We arrived home a little after 11 am and they were still there. I had been advised that with 2-3 cleaners they would be there for generally 1.5 to 2 hours. No big deal, I put my kids at the kitchen table to eat their lunch, then parked my daughter on the sofa out of the way. However, both of the cleaners were quite irritated that we were home. The quality manager also stopped by but was not very personable either. I certainly don't expect my housecleaners to engage in conversation, but if my daughter says hello I expect them to smile and say hello back... After they left I noted that quite a few details had been missed. In the kitchen, one of the fan covers had been removed and not replaced. The area behind the sink and one entire counter had not been cleaned. The grates of the stove and the inside of the oven were not cleaned at all. There were still spots on the outside of the oven and the toaster oven. The entertainment center in the family room had not been dusted, nor had the railing leading upstairs. The patio door had not been cleaned of fingerprints at all. The cleaners also just ran a wet mop over the floor in the kitchen, dining area and entry hall without sweeping first. As a result, the dirt was simply shoved into the corners. I ended up recleaning many things. Overall, I would recommend going with a good private cleaning lady or doing the cleaning oneself, over using this service. It is definitely not worth the money they charge.

I feel their service has continually improved. A couple times back in December I had concerns but they addressed those and it's been wonderful.

They are reliable, and they do a reasonably good job. I don't expect the cleaning services I've used over the years to get the details that I would do myself, if I had time. Things look good. Every time the come, they focus on one area, and do an extra good job there. I like that. I don't like that they rush a little too much, and things have been broken over the years, because they are rushing, and not thinking about what they are doing. I will keep using them for now.

They are very good. If you want something done in more detail they will make sure it gets done.

They have cleaned a couple of times. The manager, Jeff, is very nice and cooperative. I called for an emergency cleaning and their cleaners showed up the next day and did a very good job. The workers I have had this year are friendly and cooperative, go about their job and do a good job. They are not deep cleaners; if you are expecting a mop and a bucket they are not that type of company. They do vacuuming, dusting and rotate what they are cleaning. They will wipe down cabinets and countertops but not wipe down walls and mop floors. They sent a surprise quality control inspector the last time they cleaned to check their work. They seem above board,honest and I will use them again in the future.

We have used them for probably 5 or 6 years now. They are just honest and reliable. They show up every week and they do a good job of cleaning. Their price has always been very good. They are very good on responsiveness. The owner is very good.

Pretty consistent, but some teams are very quiet. Not rude, just not great stewards of the company.The supervisr, who ocasionallyvisits never tells us what her imporession is of the service we received. Seems sort of dd that she would not communicate with us. I'd hire them again, though. They are better than a lot of the franchises.

For the most part, I'm very happy with the Cleaning Authority. They bill my credit card so I don't have to leave money each time. The same two women come each time and they always arrive on time. I like having the same women each time and having two means they're only at my home for an hour. They bring all of their own cleaning supplies so I don't have to provide anything. Whenever I call the company, they are always there and always responsive. I gave them a "B" instead of an "A" as I don't think the deep cleaning is always as thorough as I would like.

I think they are fantastic. They are very reliable and consistent. They did a very thorough job of cleaning. I've never been disappointed. They were always very timely.

I'm a little frustrated with the deep cleaning portion of this. First, I don't need a deep clean of the loft and/or great room. They don't have much to them and I never feel they really get good attention either. For example vacuuming under furniture or dusting. I just went through this rotation and there was big fur balls under the china cabinet and the TV was covered in dust. It was obvious it was touched because there were lines left. It's was just 1/2 a$$ed. My teenage son does a better job. My biggest complaint though is always when it is kitchen detailed. They never do it any different. So that lead to my main point about this company. They do the work, just the quality is lacking. I also hate that a new crew comes in nearly every time. I don't know if they have difficulties with staff or what. But it's awkward every week trying to re-explain all my concerns (they don't change). My other issue with the crews is that I think there are often language problems. I don't speak Spanish and sometimes the crew doesn't speak English well enough. I feel ridiculous trying to explain my concerns directly. And trying to speak to the owner takes days. By the time you get a response, the concern is no longer there. For example the trash has not been emptied several times in the bedrooms and loft. Well, by the time I get a response, I've already taken care of it.... Not a bad company. It's just so-so. The price is average, but the quality of work is too. It helps in the keeping up with housework, but doesn't save any time on the deep cleaning which is really why I hired a cleaning service.

Not so good. First clean, poked hole in bathroom door. I didn't complain about that because I didn't notice it right away. Second clean, they ruined the finish on the piano by dropping a Dobie on it. Odd, since they were told no liquids in the living room and not to touch the piano. They did bring in a piano repair man and it was repaired to our satisfaction. (My husband did have to spend the day at home to oversee the repairs-his piano.) Cleaning-not so good. I took pictures to send to them when I canceled our cleaning. The sinks were dirtier when I got home than when I left. Had one sink in my bathroom that I don't use, and periodically clean with vinegar water between cleanings-was greasy when I got home after they cleaned. I think they used one rag on the entire house and wiped stuff all over even though I was supplying them with microfiber cloths to use. Vacuuming-many times missed an entire room, never wiped the window sills. Didn't move things (waste basket) when washing floors, and many times a stain on the floor was still there after they left-I cleaned after the cleaners. Broke just a few things compared to other cleaning groups we have used. I was told they had a person to check on cleaning to "inspire" workers to keep up the good work, had two reports in the entire time we were with them-approximately a year. I now have an independent cleaner-not an organization. Same person every time.

A team of 2 people came out; we only had the same crew twice. Each time, something was missed...ie: lamps not dusted, dirt left on floors, all lights left on, trash bags left outside rear door (instead of going another 5 feet to garbage container). Just not worth the money. Nothing was ever put back where it was originally, which is very annoying. The last straw was coming home to find the shower door broken (off track) and the microwave left unplugged (guess they couldn't find another outlet -- HA - there are 4 of them in the kitchen). It's not worth it. I kept them for 2 months, thinking they would improve. Nope.

They're not bad, they clean okay, but they don't move furniture to clean under it. They missed a lot of spots with a duster. I finally gave them a duster of my own to do the cleaning. The workers are kind of negative about the owner. They didn't even clean my toilet without me pointing it out to them.
