Mowers & Blowers

Pete (the owner) came on time (he was actually early) and checked my mower. He performed the needed maintenance to prepare it for the coming season. He cleaned it, replaced the filter and added new oil. He also sharpened the blade although he said it didn't need much sharpening. I asked if he replaced the spark plug and he said the plug was fine. All and all a quick and pleasant service call.

Andrew came on time and performed the needed maintenance. All total I think it took about 45 minutes tops.

Very pleased. Quick, convenient and no trying to fit the lawnmower in the trunk to haul it to a shop somewhere as we did before we found this company. Technician was polite, knowledgeable, and personable. The mower looks great and good as new.

Overall, it went very well. He was prompt, efficient and effective.

Pete is wonderful. I called on Christmas eve night and they were not there. They called back after the holiday and within 10 minutes he had the blower fixed. I appreciate that he drives to your house. I believe he is reasonably priced.

My snowblower wouldn't start after the year's first blizzard. Because of my heavy travel schedule, we weren't able to schedule an at-home appointment right away, but rather than wait, Pete offered to pick up the snowblower, work on it and store it at his shop until my return, and then deliver it back to my home. He didn't charge for pick-up and delivery even though this doubled his travel time for this job. He asked only for $60 plus tax, but I rounded it up to $85 because I was so delighted with his style of business. I am a repeat customer, and will continue with Pete as long as he is in this business.

Better than expected. Thought he'd have to pick up the snow blower and take it in but after he looked at it he just fixed it right at my home. I believe the man's name was Joe. He did an excellent job.

The truck pulls up and it's a repair shop on wheels, everything is in there and it is nice and tidy. He spoke to us about the problems we were having, then it took 10-15 minutes and it was all done and he was on his way. There is no waiting, no hauling a dirty, gassy, huge piece of equipment all over Milwaukee in my Honda Civic. It could not get any easier and the price is very good and the blower was not stored outside getting rained on for a few weeks until it was serviced or anything. We are totally happy and looking forward to less shoveling this winter! Thanks!

Pete always does a great job. He comes to the house and does the work on site, saving the cost of having to have the snow blower picked up and delivered. I had an appointment for 10 AM and Pete arrived at 9:30. 1/2 hour later I was set for snow.

Everything went just fine. I really appreciate his services. I would have no way to to transport a snow blower or lawn mower to a tune up shop.

The repair person came on the date we were told. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about snowblowers. Our two snowblowers are older but he knew just what to do. He explained everything about the blowers to my husband and showed my husband things he didn't know about the mowers that would make them work better. The oil needed changed and several things needed adjusting and/or replaced. We are extremely happy with the work done.

Very polite on the phone and appointment was set on Monday for appointment two days later. I had Andrew as my tech and he was very polite. He spent a little over an hour with the machine and included oil change, lubricated parts, tightened and inspected belts. He explained everything he did at the end of the call and wrote out a complete list of what he did on the invoice. This is the perfect service for people like me who are technically challenged and don't have the ability to drive equipment into a service center. I'll use them again in the spring when I need my mower tuned. Great job! Initially, I called the dealer who I bought the snow blower from and the first line I got from them was, "we charge $50 to pick up and drop off a snowblower." And the dealer didn't sound half as friendly as Blowers and Mowers.

He was prompt , professional , and treated my spouse with respect as she asked questions. He honored his Angies List coupon. This guy , Pete, was an upbeat business owner with a great attitude. Wish I had more equipment to service!

Back in the winter of 2007 my parents snowblower needed to be repaired. I found this company on the list and thought it was perfect because they come to your house and fix it right away. Otherwise, I would have had to find time to take their snowblower to a service shop and wait a few days or weeks until it was done. I emailed Pete and he responded quickly to set up a service call. My parents were happy with his service and price. My parents bought a lawn mower 6 or 7 years ago and after 4-5 years it wasn't working correctly. I had not yet joined Angie's list and didn't know where to take it. So instead, I purchased a new lawn mower for them. My parents kept the old mower. Now I need a new mower and my parents suggested that we repair their old one. I emailed Pete to request a service appointment and he again responded quickly and set up an appointment for 2 days later. Pete repaired the old mower and tuned up the new mower. We are very happy with this company. We have used another service shop in the past but they are overpriced and the quality of their work was disappointing. We will only use Mowers and Blowers in the future.

Everything went very well. He came early and finished quickly. This company saves us time and money by coming to the house to do the work. We use them every spring and fall to service our lawnmower and snowblower.

I contacted this company based on its Angie's List reputation. I was able to describe my problem and set up the appointment entirely by email, which was convenient for me. Pete was the one who serviced my mower. He arrived earlier than our appointment time, which worked out well. He drives what is essentially a medium-sized moving van in which he has an entire mobile shop with tools, parts.... He allowed me in the shop/truck while he worked so that I could see the work and ask questions. When he finished in the shop, he walked our mower around the yard a few times to expose it to its natural working environment -- we live on a steep incline. He then invited me to test drive the mower on my own. He made a recommendation for adjustment of the drive cable (that allows the user to engage/disengage the drive wheels) which was not in the owner's manual but which may help prevent the wheels from locking up in the future. All in all, a very good experience.

Very old snowblower, ran fine for the first two major snows.

The person that came out was great and I love the fact that he came up to the house and saved me from a lot of hassle. I probably paid a little extra for that service, but it was worth it. He was punctual, quick and got the job done.

Called to ask if he could come earlier than appt. Worked on it until found the problem.

He is very reliable and good and always comes when he says he is going to come. We are very happy with them.

They do a great job, and they fix it right on the spot as opposed to dropping off the equipment and waiting several weeks. They make house calls, and eliminate the charges of dropping off and picking up the pieces. I was very happy with them, and I will always use them.

During one of the Dec. 2008 snowstorms the left side of my snowblower stopped blowing snow. I found Mowers & Blowers at the top of the List with lots of great ratings, so I gave them a call. I had to leave a message, but Pete got back to me in short order while out on the road. After describing my problem, he told me that I likely broke a shear pin and also said that I could probably fix it myself...also said he'd call back after he's done with the day's jobs and see if I still needed to schedule an appointment. Well, with Pete's advice I was able to fix the first problem, but not too long after I was going again, a cable broke (yeah, this wasn't my day). Pete reached me shortly after I broke the cable. I told him both that I fixed the shear pin and that I broke the auger drive cable which I had just finished ordering express from another company. At this point, I could have said thanks for your help and walked away, but Pete did something that not everyone in his position would do: he told me how to fix my problem without paying him a dime. Obviously, it was very nice of him to do that, and since I knew I hadn't changed the oil in a couple winters, I asked that he stop out to tune up my snowblower. Boy, am I glad I did. First of all, while I got my new auger drive cable installed and it technically worked, it wasn't as good as before it broke. Pete took care of improving that as well as the main drive cable. He also checked and tuned a variety of things that I wouldn't have even thought to do, and again, he left me with more advice, this time on the best use of the snowblower. Bottom line: I feel like I've got a brand new snowblower even though this is Winter #6 for this one. Pete, thanks a bunch!

Great experience. Will now be only business I use to repair my outdoor equipment. The cost of all of his services was 35% less then the cost of a tune up with pick up and delivery for the Simplicity Zero Turn at the dealer. Plus the time I saved makes this a win-win company.
