Desperately needed a dog run. Mike was extremely responsive. Spoke honestly about the protect and my expectations and the crew was AMAZING! From start to finish it was a quick seamless and highly successful fence install. I can promise my next fence project will be with Metropolitian Fence hands down.

I cannot speak highly enough about Metropolitan Fence. From start to finish, estimate through installation and follow up customer service Mike and his guys have earned really high marks. I always recommend Mike and he is my fence guy going forward. 5 STARS!!

We had a wood fence installed by Metropolitan Fence 10 years ago. Shortly after the warranty expired, one side of the fence started leaning and the 7 posts/concrete on that side broke apart and out of the ground. All seven posts on that side need to be replaced. The other three sides of the fence are completely fine. We contacted Metropolitan Fence for repair. They said they would do the repair at the cost of $225 per post (total $1575). We had multiple other fencing companies out to quote the repair and every single company stated that these posts were all coming out of the ground because the holes weren't dug deep enough upon installation. My husband contacted the owner, Mike, to express our dissatisfaction as this is directly due to faulty installation, but he was only willing to drop $25 per post ($175 off). We asked him if this was the quality of his fences after 10 years. Each post is almost an entire foot off from the level. This side of the fence is an eye sore and upsetting given the amount we spent on the original fence. This is a costly repair due to poor installation by Metropolitan Fence. The quality of their work is poor, unacceptable, and they don't stand behind their work. I would never recommend their company as a result.

Very well. Relatively speaking this was a small job for Mike but he treated it as if it were just as important as the $50K projects.

Absolutely perfect. The crew was amazing. The fence is of the highest quality and we love it. Mike, the owner was absolutely wonderful and professional. He came in lower then other estimates and the quality is top notch. I am beyond impressed with them!!

Amazing..... During the quote, Mike told me the fence would be beautiful. I assumed that was fence guy talk. I could not imagine that a fence would be beautiful, but it is! Team was great. My landscape was a bit challenging, but they worked around it and went the extra mile. I could not be happier with this work! It really is a stunning fence!

Metro Fence did a very nice job installing a chain link fence in our large back yard. They were professional and responsive. We tried getting an estimate from another company we found on Angie's list and were unable to get anyone to answer or return our calls after several attempts so we called Metro and got an answer right away - they were even able to have someone come out for an estimate the same day we called. The whole process went fairly smooth and was straightforward. We also got an estimate from Home Depot as well and Metro was approximately $300 cheaper and had a quicker turnaround time. The whole process from the time we called for an estimate to the time it was finished was about one month. Metro was ready to install our fence about a week earlier than we were, as we were waiting for our property survey to come back and to get the building permit. Once they actually came to install the fence, it took a couple of days. They came on a Friday to dig holes for the posts and then finished early the next week. We received our bill a few days after the project was completed and it was exactly what they quoted in the estimate. Overall they did a great job, our fence looks very nice and was worth every penny. Our neighbor was so impressed with their work that he is having his yard finished off by Metro now too.

They came right out when I called for a quote and gave me several options. I was told the lead time was about 6 weeks due to the timing, but they actually came out sooner. We also made some changes to the fence to avoid the problem that caused the need for replacement.. The incorporated the changes which involved having a gate custom made. They completed the work in a timely manner and at no additional cost to us. Very professional.

Everything went according to plan, didn't have to wait as long as I thought for the work to be done which was great. I mostly dealt with Andrew, my sales guy and he was great. Always answered my questions timely. My new fence is beautiful and I am really happy with the work.

I have worked with metropolitan fence before. What made me go back to them was Mike who is the owner, really nice guy and knows what he is doing. However this time, and the only reason why I decided to write this review is due to how things turned out when we did hit a problem. As I have worked with Mike before, the meeting was very informal basically trusting that I would stand by what I said at any given moment and expecting the same from him. My husband and I follow rules, and if a contractor needs something from us we simply do it, no questions asked. We are also those customers that pay on time and the contractor never has to worry if our check will bounce as we don't spend money we don't have. We met briefly with Mike, I gave him a down payment a then the fence was put up, sent him another check covering the full amount. A week after it was done we received a complaint from the city. A permit for the fence was never taken out and there was an issue about drainage which later sort of resolved itself by me saying it would be my responsibility if it created issues in the future. All I wanted was to resolve the issue. I don't go around getting a lawyer to sue or anything like that. I took out the permit, didn't want to make a big deal out of it as in the big picture the fence is beautiful and I didn't want any issues. I like Mike and his guys do an excellent job, however, the reason I will not recommend him or go back to him in the future is because of how he reacted when this problem came up, which now gives me a view of really how he handles things if he comes across an issue that could point to him. He assumes either that I am either not too bright or that I wouldn't ask around. On our last phone call, he still try to put on us about the permit, that it was our responsibility. Please!!! I had let the permit thing go but after I spoke to him that last time I was completely disappointed that he still would try to avoid responsibility when he brought up the plot of survey document that we supposedly did not provide for him. He could have taken that information from the city or called again to remind us that he couldn't put the fence without that document and we would have gladly done it (we just moved to this house and we showed him the documents we had so we assumed that was enough). He never called about that document before the fence was installed. I know that contractors deal often with customers that are aggressive when they hit an issue with a product, but we aren't that way. We can talk and come to a solution. All he needed to say was 'I am sorry about the trouble we caused you, and thanks for being understanding' or something like that and I would have never looked back and would have recommended him for having the integrity to back up his excellent work. Unfortunately that was not the case so this is the last time I will be doing any business with him.

Went great. Scheduled a time and week when they would do the work and they completed it during the agreed upon timeframe. They went about their work efficiently and cleaned up afterwards. I was responsible for removing the soil that was removed when the post holes were dug--and that was no problem since I moved some of it and spread out the rest. I gave quality of work only a "B" rating because of the walk gates and double drive gates. The gates are large and there's a lot of wood that has to swing back and forth so I don't know how well the hinges will hold up over time. But for now, everything works perfectly. And the quality of the Clear Western Red Cedar is very nice.

The weather was a real challenge, but they got my fence in before it was too late. The team was very professional, always cleaning up as the work was done over several days due to weather. The ground in Sussex is rocky, but that didn't stop them. They made suggestions that improved the overall value of the fence. They had a fabrication problem with a gate or two from their vendor, but they never tried to pass off inferior work. Rather, they just told me it would be a bit longer as the gates were not built properly and they would had them done over. I'm very happy with Mike and his team.

They came the next day to do the quote. They were good. It was fine.

Great Job!!! Had two work crews and each one did an excellent job!! These guys were the best of teams and really worked together. First crew tore down old fence and predrilled new post holes and set the posts. Second crew re installed the fence and did the finishing work!! I would hire these gentlemen anytime and give them my utmost approval!!

This is the second time we've worked with Metropolitan Fence. We bought our materials from them in 2002 for a fence at our previous house, and the materials held up so well over 11 years (not a bit of rot or decay in the cedar posts or pickets) that we decided to go with them again to build a 6-foot privacy fence at our new home. I can't say enough about their company. They've been so helpful. All the supplies we needed were in stock, and when we said we were going to build the fence ourselves Eric gave us a step-by-step on how to put the fence together. He even suggested an upgrade (2x4s top rails cut to shed rain) that really improved our design and probably the longevity of our fence. Materials cost a little more here than going to a big-box store, but you can't beat the quality. The lumber is gorgeous, the pickets are knot-free, and we know from experience that lumber from Metropolitan lasts and lasts. When we moved from our previous house, the 11-year-old fence (which we stained twice in the 11 years) looked brand new. Thanks again for the great experience and all the help, Metropolitan Fence!

They did a very good job, they worked during the winter and it was impressive that they did it at that time. They came back a couple of times to check on the fence and to do any improvements that we requested them to do.

They are excellent. They did it without any trouble. They did the job quickly. It was what I wanted and it looked nice. I would use this provider again.

All went well from start to finish. No problems.

We scheduled the work to begin quickly. A team of workers installed wooden posts during one day. A few days later, a different team constructed the fence on site, finishing in one day. I originally planned to put in 230 feet of fence. But while drilling post-holes, a terrace on one side of my yard began to appear unstable. I stopped the work, discussed the problem with the diggers, and we quickly modified the plan for the fence to omit the unstable terraced portion. At that point, I asked the post-hole diggers not to use their mechanical auger and to instead dig post-holes with a manually operated post-hole digger in order to protect my wall and my flower beds. They had no problem with this request and the job went very smoothly after the initial glitch. Likewise, the team who built the fence were very careful not to trample my flower beds after I mentioned that I was anxious about the plants. The workers were professional, skilled and efficient. Their work has been much admired by my neighbors, and people stop in their cars to tell me what a beautiful fence it is.

We first talked with someone from Metropolitan Fence during the home show at State Fair Park. They were supposed to come out to our house around lunch time (I was going to run home from work) but instead Mike showed up in the morning after I had left for work. He called me and I walked him through where we wanted the fence. I wanted to be there, but it wasn't that big of a deal. When I took a look at the measurements they were a little closer to the alley than I had wanted. After I spoke with my neighbor about what our fence plans were I called Mike back. Mike made an adjustment to the price and I emailed them a scanned copy of the contract with my updated measurement and price on it. We had rainy weather in late April so the guys came to work when they could. One day guys came and installed the posts. Roughly nine days later the crew was back to finish up. My only complaint is I was never given a quick call, message, or email letting me know the guys would be there. It didn't end up mattering, but it would have been a nice gesture. We love having the fence in our yard so our dog can play off leash. It’s fun being able to toss a ball, Frisbee, or whatever back there. The quality of the workmanship is wonderful as well. There are no knots that I have noticed in the fence boards – and the red cedar is beautiful. It looks nicer than our neighbors fence to me that is riddled with knots (and only 6 months old too).
