The sales person Abby came out on a weekday afternoon for an estimate. She was very knowledgeable, and after giving us a quote that was higher than some of the other ones we had received, matched the best offer we had received up to that point. Abby was a little pushy in her sales technique, and it almost cost them the job, but she seemed to know when to back off. The work was done by 2 main crews, 1 crew of two men did all the siding, and the windows with some help. Another crew did the gutters, soffits, and fascia. All the work was supervised by the owner Tim who stopped in from time to time. Overall the work was done very well; the two men that did the windows were very good and very professional. The work was done in good time with only a few delays, and whatever problems that occurred were dealt with promptly. However I felt the crew that did the gutters, while they did good work, were unprofessional. They often left a mess, including scraps and trash.

I e-mailed several companies originally about installing store-bought (Home Depot or Menards) windows in our home. Abby from A to Z called me and explained the problems with these windows, and we were quickly convinced that it would be better to make a larger investment and use their windows. We ended up having the windows professionally measured and ordered from the company that A to Z uses, which took about 6 weeks. Every time I contacted anyone at A to Z the response was quick and helpful. When we decided to go ahead Abby came and showed me the windows and looked over the house. Everyone we dealt with was on-time, courteous and helpful. Two men came to install them whose names I unfortunately do not recall because they were very nice, the work so far seems great, and they did not leave much of a mess at all. It took them a day and a half to complete the job, which I was very pleased with.
Description of Work: We had 15 double-hung replacement windows installed in our 1920's bungalow.

I AM GENERALLY VERY HAPPY WITH MY NEW WINDOWS FROM A TO Z. THEY FIT WELL AND MIKE (THE INSTALLER) EVEN ADDED EXTRA MOLDING WHERE IT WAS MISSING AND REBUILT TWO INTERIOR WINDOW SILLS WHICH I LIKE VERY MUCH. HE AND HIS HELPER INSTALLED THE WINDOWS VERY QUICKLY IN ONE DAY AND CLEANED UP VERY WELL AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY DID NOT TAKE GREAT CARE WITH MY PLANTS OUTSIDE, THOUGH. TIM (THE OWNER) AND ABBY (HIS DAUGHTER WHO DID THE SALES) WERE VERY ENTHUSIASTIC AND PROUD OF THEIR WORK. THEIR SALES TACTICS, HOWEVER, ALMOST FELT A LITTLE PUSHY. THE COMPANY DID NOT SEEM ALL THAT WELL ATTUNED TO THE NEEDS OF AN OLD 1890S HOUSE AND KEPT TRYING TO TALK ME INTO PUTTING SIDING OVER MY WOODEN CLAPBOARDS OUTSIDE. BUT THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND THE OUTCOME IS VERY GOOD SO FAR.
