+ -1 moreTechnician was very thorough in his equipment check. He explained everything that he was doing and the results. He even wore "booties" when he came into our house. Our AC/Furnace is 15+ years old. Carew has come out annually (spring/fall) to do the cleaning. I feel that this has prolonged the life of our units.

+ 0 moreCarew installed new furnace, central air, and duct work about 5 years ago. I have had them do other work since then. During the initial install I had them refrain from some work because an area was still under construction. They said they would come back and install it when I was ready(I paid for the work on the initial contract).. 5 years later, I asked them to install the duct work and before I had a chance to remind them of the agreement they remembered and were there promptly and finished the work. They have always been honest, professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Would not hesitate to recommend them and I will continue to use them for routine maintenance or repair.

+ -1 moreIt was mid-winter (AC had been acting up previous summer) and they said the AC would need more freon than they could put in with the cold conditions. ( I forgot about the freon thing until the summer when the AC stopped working. I called, they were out within hours and charged the AC as they said they would when installed. Polite, well-spoken, great knowledge and reliable.
Description of Work: Replaced furnace and AC quickly and efficiently after furnace broke down.

Description of Work: Called on 6/24 to make an appointment to have my a/c compressor serviced as it was no longer turning on. Talked with the head guy mark and he said somebody could be out 6/25. I said that was great, dude showed up on time as promised, took a brief look at the compressor and said the problem was due to a blown capacitor and he had to replace it. He had the part in his truck, replaced it and the a/c was fixed and he was on his way. Now most companies would have never said they could do a simple repair for $182 and walk away. I was expecting to have to have the whole compressor replaced at a cost of $2000 to $3000 and they could've said it was old and needed to be replaced. The guys from Carew are very honest and very professional, and most importantly they SHOW UP ON TIME AND AS PROMISED! A+++

+ -1 moreHe arrived as promised. He went right to work, found the issue quickly & fixed it very quickly also. However, he did forget to turn on the furnace switch & left. He had to come back to turn everything back on. However, even when he came back, he arrived quickly & took care of the issue right away.
Description of Work: The service technician that came to repair the furnace was actually able to find the problem & fix it. I've been having trouble since November with it & had one other company out here to look at it. The repair man that was here originally in December was unable to find any issues. Not sure he was as knowledgeable as the technician from Carew. Haven't had a problem with it since he was here. Very happy with the service.

The owner said it would be a two day job, which it was. The workers worked straight on through when they were here. When I asked questions, they answered in Laymans terms.

Description of Work: Carew has a wonderful annual maintenance program. I pay $178.00/year for complete service on my furnace, a/c and humidifier. This includes spring and fall checks on the equipment. It also offers me a discount on parts, if they are needed, and it erases double-time charges on week-ends and holidays. I have done business with them for five years and wouldn't go anywhere else. My first call to Carew was on a Sunday in the summer....the a/c wasn't working. I expected an answering machine and had planned to leave a call-back message for Monday. The phone, however, was answered by the owner. I explained the problem, told him it was not an emergency, Monday would be fine. His response? He asked if anyone in the house had breathing or heart problems, if we were senior citizens, and if we would be home. Mark arrived 20 minutes later, saying that he was quite sure it was a common problem, and a quick fix. Sure enough....a bug had climbed into a contact on the unit, and that's why it wouldn't work. He removed the bug, made sure the system worked and offered to answer any questions we had. He was wonderful. And I hadn't even told him that my husband was a leukemia patient. It just wasn't that hot. Over the years, I've had other employees here to PM my equipment, and they are all polite, on-time (or they call), and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them to anyone. From the people who answer the phones to the repair personnel...they are an A+ in my book.

I went down after 30 minutes to ask TJ some questions regarding the furnace. He was able to not only explain what he did but also showed me. He took the time to explain what I needed and how I could save some money. The project lasted about an hour, including the questions I had. I take a lot of pride in my home and I feel comfortable having them come back.

Description of Work: My furnace and humidifier were cleaned, checked over and filters were changed. This company is amazing. I have used them since I moved to Watertown 3-1/2 years ago and have never been disappointed. They offer a preventive maintenance program for all HVAC units in my home and their prices are very reasonable and their service is amazing! They are EXTREMELY honest and won't do unnecessary work. The service people are prompt, courteous and very professional. I will continue to use them and would recommend them to anyone. They are wonderful!

They called the day before service to remind me of the appointment, the office staff is knowledgable and friendly and if the answer to a question is not known, they ALWAYS call back with an answer. The 2 gentlemen that cleaned my drier vent and heating vents were well-groomed, polite, pleasant and extremely patient. As a recent widow, there are many questions I had re: furnace maintenance and vents and they answered all questions politely and to my satisfaction. This was my second experience with this company. The first was on a Sunday with temps in the high 90s. I called the office, expecting to leave a voicemail message for Monday. To my surprise, the phone was answered by the owner. I explained that my air conditioner had quit working. His first questions were re: the respiratory and cardiac health of the occupants of the house. I was amazed! I told him Monday would be fine, but later that day the owner called and stopped by and fixed the problem in about 10 minutes. There was no up-charge for a Sunday call. I love these people!
