custom cabinets
+ -1 moreWe signed a contract on 4/5/11 and submitted a $2500 down payment. For the next six months, we dealt patiently with excuses, lies and weeks of no communication at all. He stopped answering our phone calls and only sporadically responded to e-mails. We finally realized in September that we were never going to get our cabinets, so we began to ask that our down payment be returned. Unfortunately for us, he "doesn't have it." He admits that he owes us the money, but for two months now he has not made any effort to return one penny. The icing on the cake is the time and gas wasted to drive to the county courthouse to file a complaint against this business and to find a process server. We even advised this individual several times that we were going to pursue this via the court system, and still he did not return our money. Tomorrow we will have our day in court, and will hopefully get our money back. Quite a learning experience, all in all.
Description of Work: Individual agreed to build, finish and install kitchen cabinets for a price that really was too good to be true. Initial time frame for completion of this project was May, then June, then September 13.
