+ -1 moreThe inspection went very well. I wanted a Home Inspection performed on my home as a preemptive measure since we are considering the sale of our home. We felt that this would be a proactive step in helping to prevent any possible future delays in the eventual closing transaction on our real estate. Donn Anderson was punctual, professional, thorough, and very knowledgeable about construction and building codes. I am going to use the report to remedy all of the items found that could be issues to any potential buyer. The Property Condition Report and photos that Donn provided were very comprehensive and complete.

+ -1 moreBuying a home is a complicated activity. There are 1001 things that need to be coordinated, not the least of which is making sure you're getting what you pay for. Donn Anderson and the folks at Anderson consulting make this last task 100% easier. From the quick and friendly scheduling to the in depth inspection, Donn took the time to answer all my questions. He was able to help me differentiate between true problems that needed to be corrected and maintenance items. He provided an on the spot printed and PDF binder of not only my inspection but also suggested maintenance activities. He quickly followed up on any questions I had after the inspection. And he linked up with my Realtor to make sure she knew what needed to go to the seller. Without a doubt I would use this company again and would recommend them to my friends and family. And if you're lucky, his wife sends him out to the inspections with some of the best chocolate chip cookies ever!

His service was prompt, efficient, thorough, engaging, and he was completely knowledgeable in all matters pertaining to the two home inspections we had him perform (one for the home we were buying, and one for the home we were selling.) Donn's level of expertise is incredible. His inspection of our own home before we put it on the market saved us at least $2,000 by being able to bring in a structural engineer to evaluate and dismiss a questionable concern with the foundation of our home. Donn's keen eye caught the issue right away - and one of the experts he referred was able to put all of our concerns to rest. Can't speak highly enough of Donn's work ethic and breadth of experience. He has performed over 8,000 home inspections - from residential to commercial - and makes you feel that your inspection is the most important of all of them.

+ -1 moreOverall, I was very pleased with the inspection and Donn's attention to detail. He made sure to explain everything to me that might be a concern or issue. He took tons of photos and documented every single home inspection item using his PDA. I called on Monday and he was able to come see the new home on Wednesday. While the time estimate was about "2 hours", the process actually lasted over 3, due to the care he took to check everything out. He came prepared with all the tools (such as a laser leveler) to check out foundation issues and such. The report from the inspection was given to me right as the inspection was completed (he printed it right there in the kitchen). An email report WITH photos is to come soon as well. The report is very detailed, easy to read and issues of concern are highlighted. I would use him again in a minute, if I need anything else inspected. The price for his services was very fair.
Description of Work: As a buyer for a new home (haven't done this in 13 years), I had Donn Anderson come to inspect our new home as part of the purchase process. His company came recommended by my Realtor and I see why.

+ -1 moreDonn was fantastic. He was prompt, well-informed, and a funny guy. He made what could have been a grueling experience into an informative and enjoyable Saturday morning. This was our first experience with any home inspector, but were thoroughly pleased and would definitely hire Anderson again.
Description of Work: My wife and I just purchased our first home and our realtor gave us the names of several home inspectors. We chose Anderson because they were the only company that could accommodate our tight schedule. Donn arrived fifteen minutes early on a Saturday morning and proceeded to walk and talk us through the entire 2+ hour process. It was an educational experience and taught us a lot about home maintenance and our new home in particular. The company is also tech-savvy; they emailed confirmation of the appointment several days prior, and Donn uses a PDA throughout the inspection to enter in data about the house; when he was finished, he brought out a small printer and proceeded to print full inspection reports for us as well as the seller. The next day I received an email with photos from the inspection. Also provided was an informative binder with much useful info and home maintenance instructions.

+ -1 morePrice included a $100 fee for radon testing. I was told there is a discount for repeat customers. We ended up not buying the house he inspected but will use him again to evaluate any future homes we are considering! We called him on a Monday, he did the work on Thursday of that week. Since we were not able to be there for the inspection (Donn strongly recommends you be there), our realtor was and she said it was the most educational afternoon she had spent in a long time. He worked under adverse conditions (it was 140 degrees in the attic) and was totally professional. He obviously takes pride in his work and will back his opinion!
Description of Work: On the basis of Donn's work, we felt we were in a very good position to re-negotiate our bid when we were trying to buy a house. I had some areas of concern before Donn inspected the house and emailed him. He emailed me back within a few hours and commented on each area of concern (including one that said that he did not cover appliance efficacy). After the work was completed (it took him over 3 hours) we had our report emailed to us that evening and pictures emailed to us the next morning. Donn answered questions by email and phone for us for several days after that as we were clueless about some specifics (so he had done the work, already been paid but was still willing to clarify things). We are 1400 miles away and could only depend on his opinion but we are absolutely convinced he thoroughly evaluated the property, identified problems, prioritized problems, and gave suggestions on what needed to be fixed and what that would entail. He and his office manager are awesome!

+ -1 moreDon and Laura (his administrative assistant) were very easy to work with. Scheduling was simple and Anderson coordinated all preparation. Don showed up on time and conducted a very thorough and detailed inspection. I have a technical background and am confident he didn't miss anything. His report and radon test results were provided at completion of the test and an electronic copy with pictures were emailed the next day. The sellers realtor was familiar with Don's work and reputation and therefore didn't dispute his assessment of some foundation damage. I would use Don again in an instant and highly recommend his services. He's a pro that takes pride in his work and will not hesitate to educate the consumer if desired. HE DID A VERY COMPLETE EVALUATION AND HAD A PROFESSIONAL REPORT. HE DID ASK TWICE FOR A CHECK PRIOR TO COMPLETING THE PROJECT WHICH WAS A BIT ANNOYING, BUT PERHAPS THE COMPANY HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH PEOPLE PAYING IN THE PAST.
