ROBERTS TOPSOIL

I have bought well over 20 truck loads of dirt from his dad in the past 30 years that I have lived here. And never have had a problem. However, now that his dad is passed so has the quality of the product. Recently I had them deliver 8 yards of topsoil. But the topsoil quality was more of landfill than topsoil. The dirt was full of huge clay clumps that I actually had to take a pick to break up. I also found huge rocks , chunks of glass and even a nail and screws. When I called them to make him aware of this he became arrogant and tried to tell me I was lying. I told him to come look at him for himself. When he did come out he tried to tell me that is topsoil and I don't know my dirt. I showed him what I had found and even had rocks fall out of the pile as he was watching. I documented everything both with pictures and videos. It's ashame to see the company ruined like this. So buyer beware. You will not get the quality product like they use to offer. He did refund me $100.

We ordered topsoil that was supposed to be screened and pulverized. Well, they pulverized it but left the rocks, broken glass, and rusty metal objects in it. The topsoil that we got was very, very rocky, and we even pulled out a broken glass bottle piece that was nearly half the size of the bottle! For what we paid, we expected dirt. Not glass, mostly rocks, and trash. We are definitely NOT happy with the bad quality of the topsoil. It was fill grade, not any sort of quality of topsoil that they had promised. I do NOT recommend this place, I do not consider them an honest seller.

Deliveries were prompt. Dirt was dumped as requested. Both times the driver demanded a payment that exceeded the price shown on their website. Also, the volume of transported dirt seemed to lack formal quality control/technical measurement. Delivery tickets/receipts were hand scrawled on plain (unpreprinted) tablet paper. Volume of soil delivered proved to be about 67% of compacted in-place volume. In other words, their "36" cubic yard delivery ended up filling only 24 in-place cubic yards. So, ordering requires using a multiplier of 1.5X to accommodate their pulverization/air fluff/driver's loading standard.

From the initial phone call to the delivery took about 3 hours. They were very courteous and friendly. The price was very competitive and the quality was as described. Very good communication and prompt delivery. The website is also very good.
