Description of Work: Removed & replaced driveway, sidewalk & step up to our front door.

Description of Work: Replaced driveway and front walk. They were great to work with and talked through the entire project with us before starting. They addressed all our concerns. The bidding process was clear and there were no hidden costs.

Description of Work: We chose this contractor based on their lower price (they were low bid out of 5 local companies) and good reviews on Angie's List. They seemed to know their 'stuff' and we now have a beautiful new driveway and garage floor that has replaced the cracked, crumbly, and settled one we had before. That really is the most important thing. | |Their communication skills are a little weaker. We had to contact them to find out when they were planning to do the work (it was delayed 1.5 months due to other jobs they had) - they did not reach out to us - and at the end of the job they just packed-up and left without any follow-up communication. No phone call or walk-through. It turned out that our contract did not include filling in the trenches that were dug on either side of the driveway and sidewalk. That's okay; it was just unclear to us who was responsible. So I spent most of this past weekend hauling and tamping dirt and seeding around the project site. I also called and asked them how to maintain the driveway over the next few years, which they answered. But again, it was based on our needing to make follow-up calls rather than a standard project finalization process by them. | |BTW, comparing bids among the different contractors was a challenging process, as each one seemed to specify different things - include some items, not include others. How think should the concrete be poured, how far apart should the rebar be placed, does the cost include bringing in fill material, landscaping around the slabs afterwards, will fiber mesh be added to the concrete mix, etc. It took some investigating and talking to many people to determine which specs are critical and which ones are not.

Description of Work: Concrete walls and flat work

Description of Work: Removed existing narrow concrete driveway, sidewalk, front stoop, and attached brick planter. Regraded entire front of house as we had water problems in the basement(which is why this whole project started). Poured new front stoop, which without the huge 1950's planter, opened up the front of the house. Created a wider, more inviting sidewalk and we had the width of our driveway doubled. Plus, we had K& M excavate for a gravel parking pad along our one car garage.

Description of Work: Removed and disposed existing asphalt driveway. Poured new driveway.
