B & B Movers

Initial discussion and agreement were fine. They kept promising to arrive but never did. Will not return phone calls will not explain. They agreed to move my 80 year old mother that had just recently widowed. Calls were made early the day that service was to be provided to confirm time and they promised to arrive between 1-1:30. At 2:00 another call was made, they promised to be there within 1 hour. 2 hours later they still had not arrived and another call was made. The owner Steve Crooks assured us they would be there within 45 minutes. An hour later they still had not arrived and stopped answering their phone. Repeated calls and messages were left with NO response from them. They abandoned an 80 year old widow with no alternatives. They have never called back to explain or apologize. They shouldn't be allowed to operate a business. Nobody should ever do business with them again for anything. They are despicable!

Steve, owner of B & B Movers, asked for full payment of $3800 for services before delivery of my household goods to NC. He gave me his word that his truck would deliver my things on time. He called to tell me his truck had broken down in Indiana and was going to have to wait for parts before continuing on to NC. Days and weeks went by where I had to continue calling him for updates on the repair. He gave me no hope of when I could expect my things. I had paid for a storage unit in NC which was now sitting empty and no refunds were given on that unit. After I had made numerous calls to B & B, he finally said that he was going to have my things transferred to a different truck in Indiana and continue driving to NC. My things were finally delivered on June 13th, a month after leaving Wausau!! Steve did not call me to ask if things were delivered safely. I had to call him to tell him that I had water and mold damage to items due to his first truck leaking when it was sitting in Indiana in the rain. Other things were damaged in the process of transferring from one truck to another, and while unloading the truck in NC. Steve has shown NO concern for this situation or for the inconvenience to me in not having my things delivered on time. It has held up the process of purchasing my home because filing records I needed were not delivered when promised.......Steve only continued to say that it wasn't easy for him!! I asked him for a reimbursement of $1000 given the damaged items and the empty storage unit I had paid for, plus the untimely delivery of my goods. He agreed to send me a check for that amount. It NEVER came. He continued to tell me "It's in the mail." I finally traveled back up to Wisconsin to talk to him face to face. I entered a lot full of deep pot holes and a building filled with so much smoke that one needs a gas mask in order to breathe. He tried to put me off again. He finally gave me a personal check....which I found out later was a bad check. I went back to him the same day and told him I would be happy to follow him to his bank to get a cash reimbursement or a cashier check. He was still trying to get me to go away, asking me to come back to his office later that day. I said I would just wait for him in his lot until he decided to go to his bank. I waited 10 minutes until he came out of his building. He said he wanted me to again wait for him. I told him I would follow him to his bank. I followed him into his bank (a different bank than the one his bad check was written on). I watched him give the teller a credit card where she then gave him $1000 in cash. He turned around to see me standing behind him where he had no more excuses to tell me, and handed me the money he had promised. He never mentioned filing an insurance claim for my damaged goods. I would not trust this man or his company to move a paper plate, let alone one's precious possessions!
