I had 5 of my 8 foot fence posts fall over in a wind storm. Jim and his crew came out within hours and propped up the fence so my dogs could be outside. They came over the next morning..( a Sunday AND a snowy March day) and repaired the fence. They even put all of my chairs back that we used to help prop up the fence. Great customer service! Ill totally use them again!

Jim from Finished Looks Construction was selected to me by Angi's app. I checked Jim's reviews and profile and all gave me the illusion that he was capable of completing my door installation. Jim also assured me that he has installed exterior doors many times and was experienced. On February 28th, 2025 Jim arrived late and unprepared. He asked me for a vacuum as he forgot his to clean up along the way his mess. Prior to installing the door I asked Jim to inspect the door and let me know if he finds any issues with the door so that I immediately return the door and reschedule the installation. Jim installed the door and never reported any issues with the door. Jim requested to pay him $400 for the door in cash. I went to the bank to withdraw the $400. When I returned Jim was waiting for me to pay him in the front street ready to go because he said he had to leave and rushed me. I asked Jim if he completed the door installation, he said yes. I paid Jim the $400 cash as he requested. I came in only to find issues with the door. The door does not glide open, I have to pull really hard on the hardware to get the door to open and i use this door multiple times a day to let my dogs out to potty. Also the threshold on the floor sinks down, bends down when I step on it, this never happened before. Additionally, the exterior door is cracked in the center. I asked Jim why he didn't inform me about the cracked door, he said it was already like that to take it back to the store. Jim does not want to resolve my issues with the terrible service he provided. This crack is not repairable on a fiberglass door, it would only worsen over time as we get hot summers and extremely cold winters. Jim damaged my prepurchased door by cracking it. This door was inspected thoroughly by the store and my husband before releasing to it to Jim. The prepurchased exterior door cost $1538.00. Jim damaged my material door and now I have to replace this door as it is not fixable and hire another installer for the new door.

This project took 1 hour. Very professional and on time. Great communication with quotes and what needed to be done.

Jim was very professional and we discussed a few different options. When we agreed to a plan he kept me informed as items arrived and this made it easy to schedule the work with him. On the day of the installation of the patio door he was very conscientious and thorough with his work. I would definitely hire him again for a similar job.

Jim and his son, were very professional. They fixed our squeaking floor joyces in our Lake in the Hills home. It was a challenging job to begin with, because there were several squeaks! Their work was very professional, clean and it was done promptly. Most likely will use him for future projects!

My dryer vent which goes to the roof was leaking down to the ceiling of the laundry room. James replaced the vent cap on the roof and the aluminum extension down to the ceiling. He never showed up to patch the ceiling and told him it didn’t need to be patched because its insulated. Now months later I reached out to him because I additional moisture progression on the ceiling. He never showed up again and now ignores my calls and texts

We were extremely happy with the work that was done.

Jim came to install acrylic panels I had purchased above a shower. He wasn’t upset when I added changing out the shower arm and head and shower controller. While he was working we discovered the door didn’t open well over the new carpet being installed at the same time so he was able to cut the door bottom to fit the new carpet too. Everything was done good and his charge was very fair. I will use him again in the future.
