Update on previous report concerning some exterior painting done in October 2011.
When I last wrote a report, the paint was again peeling on the garage door after a second attempt had been made by Terry Travis to paint the door.  I called him last fall and left a message informing him of the situation.  I called again when the weather was suitable for painting and again left a message.  At this point I don't even want him to paint it again.  I want him to come and sand the peeling paint off the door and make it somewhat presentable.  I haven't asked for my money back, nor have I taken him to court---yet.  I don't think it's too much to ask for him to get rid of the peeling paint.  Again there was no response to  my phone messages.  I strongly recommend you look elsewhere than Travis Brothers Painting if you want a job well done and integrity in the man performing it.

In October 2011, I contacted Terry Travis of Travis Bros Painting to do some exterior painting of shutters, trim and doors.  He did the work within the week.  The work was done quickly and I didn't see much prep work.  I spotted some missed areas of trim, which he fixed.  Then, a month later the paint on the metal garage door  began to peel.  By then it was too cold to paint, but I informed Mr. Travis of the situation and he said to call in the spring and he would redo it.  I then spent from April to August 2012 trying to get him to keep his word and stand behind his work.  Sometimes he denied doing the work.  Other times he would promise to come out the next day; I would rearrange my schedule only to realize he never intended to come from the beginning.  He was an accomplished liar. I couldn't believe he would choose this tactic and not make it right.  A good reputation didn't seem important to him.   If he thought I was just going to go away, he was mistaken.  I looked at that peeling door every day!   It wasn't until I reported him to Angie's List and the Better Business Bureau that he finally came out early one morning so he wouldn't have to face me and repainted the door.  I was relieved to have it over, however the morning he came the temperature was quite cool and I was afraid the same thing would happen again.  Sure enough.  About 3 weeks ago, I realized the paint was peeling again!  I don't understand why this should be happening to work done by a professional.  The ironic thing is that the garage door was done at his suggestion-it wasn't on my list.  I don't know if the paint he uses is inferior, or if he just doesn't know what he's doing.  I have left a message on his answering machine and we'll see what the spring brings...
