DRIVEWAY MAINTENANCE

We hired Dave and his team to grade, seed, and plant two trees. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We watched Dave push his employees in our backyard, our grass (if you can call it that) came in very very yellow and the grading was causing puddles in several areas in our yard. We called Dave at least 10 times and left messages with our concerns. No call back, ever. We had two different companies come out to talk us through options and both said we absolutely got taken advantage of. We saved $500 but had to get our entire lawn redone. The way they had our water draining was horrible and when the new landscapers dug everything up to regrade and drain correctly one of the pipes was already disconnected underground and one literally had duct tape around it. A year later and one of The two trees died. This was a horrible company to work with and I hope nobody has to go through the expense and experience that we did.

Dave removed old driveway. I asked about base and he said it was fine. I questioned him several times about the base and he kept reassuring me it was OK and no gravel was added. While I wasn't comfortable with this I had to believe what Dave was telling me. When replacing driveway at previous home contractor removed old base and installed new base. Dave and his subcontractor Pro-Seal Asphalt showed up around 6PM on 07/10/14 to put in new driveway.. I wasn't happy with results and I don't think they rolled the driveway as much as they should have. Dave said they would go over the driveway with the roller a lot more than they actually did. I didn't like the way it looked and there were low spots where the water they sprayed on the driveway puddled. One was especially bad and they used a large propane torch to soften the asphalt so they could add more asphalt. When they were done it looked terrible. It looked like the driveway had been patched and this was new driveway! By this time it was dark and I asked Dave to come back the next day so we could look at driveway in daylight and that I would pay him. Dave came over and I showed him the areas I was concerned about. He just kept saying he thought it was fine. I told him he shouldn't be satisfied until his customer was. He gave me two options, a small amount off the work done or he would sealcoat the driveway at no charge the next summer. I opted for the sealcoating. On June 15th, 2015 Dave seal coated the driveway as agreed. I mentioned I still wasn't happy with appearance of drive and he said, "this wasn't one of my best jobs". On July 10th, 2015, one year after install, I noticed cracking and settling in the same area where my old driveway had settled and cracked. All I could think was Dave should have removed existing base and installed new base and compact when driveway was installed. That's what was done at my last home, totally new base. I watched cracking for about a month and it was getting worse so on August 6th, 2015, I called Dave and he said it was hot out and asphalt could crack. He stated the warranty was 12 months. I said, "it's been 12 months and 3 weeks". He sounded like he didn't want to come out and said he had already been at my house twice. I asked how do you figure? He stated once to seal coat and now to look at cracking. Dave then said he would be out in the next two weeks. It's now August 28, 2015 and Dave hasn't called or come out. I called on September 9th and 11th. Dave called later on the 11th. Said he was sending his guy over and I asked that the come over and he said, "I don't need to see it, I have seen plenty of cracks". I said fine and then he asked me to write a good Angie's List review. I told him I was undecided about doing a good review. Dave said, "I don't need to come out at all since it's over a year". I said fine, don't come out, I will hire someone else to repair the cracks. Dave hung up on me. Not very professional!

Driveway Maintenance does a good job at snow plowing and always shows up. I highly recommend Driveway Maintenance for snow plowing, and would trust them with other driveway related maintenance.

Driveway Maintenance is prompt and does a good job at snow removal, using equipment that seems to be in excellent condition. I would also say that the snow plowing service is very reasonably priced.

We have used this service before and we were pleased with the service we experianced this time. Dave responded to our call for a estimate quickly and had his crew out on the day promised and completed the job. The work done, filling cracks and sealing the driveway, as advertised. We will use this service again.

When I asked them to come and see the driveway and see how bad it looked He refused. When I told him I was going to report him to Angie's List and Better Bureau.

I was never called back. They did not even have the courtesy to call and let me know if they were too booked up.

Requested a bid and they responded very promptly and submitted a bid ($320.00) within 2 days. He followed up to request getting to get the job. I informed him, we had awarded it to another company. He asked why, and I advised the decision was made on price. He proceeded to talk about how the other companies out there should be closely reviewed because they were suspect, indicating they may have criminal backgrounds or they water down the sealant, or that there equipment or location was less than suitable for the work. I was very turned off by this negative talk. Unfortunately this impacted my opinion of this contractor, which I would have happily considered for future work. Now I will look to others first.

Dave came out when we weren't here and did the estimate. We would like to have been here to discuss the problem areas with him. We, however, were able to discuss the estimate on the phone and added additional work that was needed and they came out in a timely manner. They were very thorough with the cleaning and patching and the sealing was done beautifully. We are very pleased with the work.

He came out there on the same day that I called he came out there. They called me when they were able to come out in do the work. When I called them it was to cold for them to do the work.

Excellent experience; arrived at promised time, great driveway finish, great price for our size drive. This is the second time we have used Dave's services. Strongly recommend Dave and his staff.

He did an excellent job, on time, free estimate and punctual.

Dave came within a few days of my call to give me an estimate. He was very polite, and seemed very capable. We signed the proposal that week, and within the next week he called for an appointment to do the work. He said they would be there on June 8, 2006 around noon, they were in my drive getting the work done by noon! The job he did is exceptional. The driveway which is 15 years old looks new, and his crew was very professional, and polite, and just as nice as Dave! Bottom line the work was completed on time and as agreed to.

They did some work and then took the money we paid them up front and never showed again. We are currently in litigation.

Dave came out to perform the estimate for this job as well as discuss some other ideas I had. He stayed as long as it took to discuss the job and my other ideas thoroughly. He presented a few options for me to consider, including some ways to save money on work he would do. Very professional and competent.

THE WORK WAS METICULOUS. THE CREW WAS HERE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HERE. MY PHONE CALLS WERE RETURNED THE SAME DAY.

OUTSTANDING WORK! THEY ARRIVED EXACTLY AS PROMISED. THEY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB PREPARING THE SURFACE AND TRIMMING THE GRASS ALONG THE DRIVE EDGE. THEY DID A MANUAL APPLICATION OF HOT ASPHALT. THE MANUAL APPLICATION RESULTS IN A CLEANER APPLICATION AND BETTER TRACTION IN WINTER. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

THEY WERE PROMPT AND POLITE, THEY DID GET A LITTLE TAR ON MY WHITE BRICK HOUSE WHERE THE HOUSE MEETS THE DRIVEWAY, BUT YOU CAN BARELY SEE IT. THEY SAID THAT THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE FINE CRACKS WHICH I WAS TOLD ABOUT AHEAD OF TIME. ANOTHER COMPANY HAD TOLD ME THE SAME THING. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THIS COMPANY AND THE WORK LOOKS GOOD.

THEY DO ALL THE PARKING LOTS FOR A NEARBY SCHOOL DISTRICT. I THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD INDICATION OF QUALITY AND VALUE. ANOTHER COMPANY QUOTED US $250.

THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THEIR WORK. I LIKE THAT THEY SEND OUT A REMINDER CARD AFTER 2-3 YEARS HAVE GONE BY SINCE THE LAST TIME THE WORK WAS DONE.
