Wil-Kil Pest Control

After a delay of a couple weeks, we received a quote for a “mouse prevention program”. Basically- seal the entrance points, place traps and then guarantee for two years. It looked good so we signed and sent back the contract and the appointment at 10:00. The technician called me at 9:30 and said he was running late. Then the sales man just called me an hour after the technician said he would be there that corporate just notified him that the contract THAT THEY QUOTED, WE SIGNED AND SENT BACK AND THEY THEN SCHEDULED THE SERVICE did not meet their standards. And they could not do the second year renewal and there would be no price reduction. I said tough” you took my contract” and he said they could not honor it. This is quite possibly the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with.

Well. Ants gone and guaranteed their work.

They come here every few months and they also go to our commercial building. My wife pays that monthly and the price is reasonable. He did a good job. As long as it works it is good quality. He is responsive. We use him every couple of months.

We have been using them for quite a while. We had rodent problems so they took care of that so they just come by every few months and check the traps to make sure everything is good.

They were able to take my call on Wednesday and the technician called me on Friday and was able to come on Sunday. He treated the house inside and out and provided us within more information on the maintenance plan. Very reasonable, I called around. Best price and service so far!

The lady came out as scheduled. It didn’t take care of the problem immediately, and I had to call her back because we saw more ants. She did come back every time that she told me she would, and I haven’t seen any more ants. We had to repeatedly contact her for a while and she was not available for a few days due to something she had to do. She was always on time when she came. She did tell me to make sure that I call her if I saw any more. It looks like it has been taken care of inside the house. Their pricing is actually in the range, and a little bit lower than the other guys that I called, but I still thought it was high. She did a good job.

This is an update to my original review. Today is 9/6/2012. My next service is due in September. I have called twice since 8/28 to get a hold of my technician to schedule the next appointment and have yet to hear back from anyone. I feel that over a week for a response really isn't acceptable. Therefore I've changed the score on Responsiveness to a D. When I first spoke to the Salesperson, she was very helpful and gave me a quote. I ended up calling back and requesting to move forward with the Home Protection Plan and was informed that a technician would be calling to set up the first appointment. The technician called during the week and wanted to set up to come the next day. Normally promptness like that would be great, but with my husband and I both working M-F it wasn't possible. I asked him about weekends because weekedays don't really work well for us and the technician told me that next weekend was out, so we scheduled for the following week on a Thursday. I thought my husband was off that day. Unfortunately I was wrong and so I called back as soon as I found out to see if that Tuesday would work as that was the day he actually had off. When the technician returned my call, he unfortunately wasn't availlable due to another job. He again tried to get other weekdays and seemed put off when I said that weekdays don't work for us because of our jobs. At this point we were looking at least 3 weeks out. At this point I said I might have to find another company, because his availability wasn't going to work for us. He at first said OK, then he said he would see if there was another guy that could do that next weekend. He was able to set someone up to come in and that technician called and we scheduled the appointment for 6/30/2012 at 9am. I told him over the phone that it was a first visit for the Home Protection Plan. The day of the appointment, the technician ran late, but he did call us and let us know which was great. When he arrived he was going to just spray the outside of the house. We requested that he also spray the basement and he was very willing to do it. We never did get the 20-point inspection, but I also haven't followed up with the company regarding that. Finally, the technician started quoting us a price that was $25 more than what was quoted on the phone. When I told him, he changed the price with no question which was wonderful. However, I think the company should be sharing what is quoted with the technicians so that doesn't happen. He could have easily refused to change the price as I had nothing in writing from them other than my notes from the phone conversation. As for bugs, I've still had to battle the occasional earwig, but he did say it could take a few weeks to finally be bug free, so we'll see how things look after next week. Overall, the people I spoke to at Wil-Kil the first time as well as the technician that came to our house were very personable, friendly, and accomodating. I will hope our regular technician will be the same and hopefully our original communication was just a fluke.

I like that they come and get the job done. I can call anytime and they will come right out. We have trouble with bees nests and there is no extra charge for them to come out as needed between treatments.

They removed the nests and sprayed the back side of the house. This treatment will be good for the duration of the year. If we would have had any more issues, they would have come back out to take care of it. We have not had a reoccurence, so there has not been a need to have them return.

I easily made arrangements with the company and an exterminator arrived 2 days later, prompt and polite. He answered my questions and took care of the problem using a dry powder blown into the crack. I was very pleased to discover that he wouldn't have to remove siding or widen the hole since the crack had seemed so small and narrow to me. The exterminator thought it might be several days for all the hornets to die but I never saw another one after that initial spraying. I had used this vendor quite a few years ago to remove a bumble bee's nest. They had charged me $75.00 then which is the same price I paid now. They stated to me that this initial $75.00 guarantees the destruction of that particular nest even if they need to return numerous times. I

Called and left message over holiday weekend requesting service to exterminate ground wasp nest in back yard. Left message and got return call within 24 hours. Person who answered the phone had not heard of Angie's list or the company coupon on the website. The representative said she hadn't heard of it and didn't have an account for Angie's list to view / print the coupon herself. This was frustrating and her unwillingness to ask someone at the company for help was frustrating. After I logged into Angie's list while I was on the phone with her, I read it to her and she was able to determine it did not apply to the service I was requesting. Not a problem, but it was frustrating that they didn't know about their own coupon. Service was scheduled within 24 hours and arrived promptly. The exterminator was there for approximately 45 minutes and it was apparent from watching him work that he killed as many wasps as appeared- there were lots and there was no movement from the nest when he was finished. He sprayed thoroughly and guaranteed the wasps would not be back. He told me that if they reappeared, Wil Kill would return and spray again but that it was doubtful it there were any left. He had applied a powder which would kill any returning wasps after he left. Exterminator was friendly, helpful and did a great job. I have not had any problems with wasps since. I would definitely use Wil Kill again.

We had carpenter ants crawling inside our dishwasher. Wil-Kil had somebody here within 24 hours. He sprayed around the dishwasher and all the baseboards in the basement, all the bathrooms, and the laundry room. He also sprayed the perimeter of the house and the nest, which he found outside the kitchen window. We haven't seen an ant in the house since. We were impressed enough to sign a year long contract with them.

They did not provide any service for me. They were just not what I was looking for. They were more for spraying the outside rather than the inside. I wanted someone who would spray inside the house. They were professional when they talked to me. I will not use them in the future because that is not what I am looking for.

They were very thorough and they did a great job. I think that their price was very fair. They came out right away and were real fast with their work. I would use them in the future.

I telephone Wil Kill on a Monday. Someone telephoned me that same day to discuss what I wanted, share the potential associated costs, and make an appointment. The person even alerted me to the coupon available on Angie's list! Someone came the very next day to do the work. The professionalism of every person I worked with made it a pleasure doing business with this company. My only shudder is with the name!

The service was prompt. I was disappointed with the initial 20 point check, so I called the company. The same day, a tech and the director of operations returned and thoroughly checked. They provided excellent tutorial information, a list of approaches, some of which we could complete or hire them. Since I was not happy with the original 20 point check, they provided me with a free carpenter ant treatment because carpenter ants were identified through some of the ants I had saved from inside the house and observed in large amounts on my sunroom and running along the fence near it. I felt they really stood behind their work and were very gracious because they took the time to show me everything they saw and teach me as the went.

This was set up by my Realtor but, they came out quickly and did the job properly. They supplied an easy to read report.

I called in the morning and I was contacted by the technician within a few hours. He came out that afternoon to take care of the hive which was in a small tree at eye level. Because he didn't have to use a ladder, the charge was $75, which was more reasonable than another place I called. I appreciated the prompt service and the bees were gone by the next day.

It was quick, he was friendly and helpful. I appreciated his discresion when he arrived he parked in the back of the house and although there was a logo on the side of the truck it wasn't loudly marked as pest control.

I called on Monday and he came right out early the next day. He arrived precisely at the time he quoted. He introduced himself and I showed him what we needed done and where. When he finished, he took time to answer some questions, such as when it would be safe for us to be in the area and trim the bush. He was very polite and professional and if I needed more work to be done at another time, I would certainly call them.
