+ -1 moreNEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. If I didn't think better, I'd say he was casing the joint, and if not, he would have followed through on the work. How can someone like this stay in business????!!!
Description of Work: Tim, the owner, came and did an assessment and estimate more than two weeks ago for current project of three bookshelves and assessed future projects I had in mind. We agreed to a price and that the work would be done and he'd send me an email the following day to confirm and provide some additional referrals for other work. Price was an estimate.

+ 0 moreWe met with Tim, the owner, to plan out our new closet system for our master bedroom. He was so helpful--adding ideas and tweaking the components to customize the closet for our needs. He, also, suggested a lighting specialist who responded to our request and installed the lighting right before the closet was installed. The actual installer of the closet was punctual, courteous, neat, and professional. We are very pleased with the results! We would highly recommend Tailored Living.
Description of Work: Removed old shelving from our walk-in closet, patched holes, and installed a new closet organization system.

We liked that he prepared a design on the spot, and then worked with us to further refine it. The price was very reasonable. Our installer was punctual, neat, and skilled. We are very satisfied with our new closet.

Initial estimate was easy and Tim was very flexible with times and took the time to sit down with us and give us detailed estimates with different options and was able to show us what different configurations would look like. Price was very fair for the quality of work (paid what we would have expected to for professionally designed and installed closets). It took a few weeks from the time we ordered until the install date, but that didn't bother us and it was worth the wait. The installer was fantastic, on-time and also didn't mind our kids running around. Finished product looks great and our closets are now actually usable! I would definitely recommend him to family and friends.

Description of Work: They remodeled my lower cabinets in the kitchen with slide-out drawers, so now all the pots and pans are in the drawers, which make them more easily accessible.

+ 0 moreOverall, the experience was excellent. We had a few different sources and we were just very happy with the work that they did. We were impressed with their patience, and presentation. Tim Woollen worked well with us and was very professional. There were a few hold-ups from their suppliers, but Closet Tailors completed their work efficiently. They were flexible with changing the plans during the work. During the process, they also told us what they needed to know in terms of installing electrical outlets. Their price was comparable to the competitors. We'd use them again.
Description of Work: They installed a murphy bed wall-system (with integral shelving). They worked around an existing window. The room functions as a library/informal office, but now when we have guests, we don't have to move anything and it can be used as a guest bedroom. It works beautifully.

+ -1 moreFrom beginning to end, the process was exceptional. Working with the designer and carpenters was easy. Their knowledge of the process and execution of the plans were phenomenal. The work was completed in one day and I had no mess to clean up afterwards. I HIGHLY recommend Closet Tailors.
Description of Work: Had two closets reconfigured and built out due to losing space from newly installed ac ductwork. CT came out to look at the projects, gave an estamate and created a 3-D competerized version of what the finished work would look like. We then worked together to make the plans exactly what I envisioned.

+ -1 moreI spoke to Tim on a Friday and set up a time for him to come to our house on the following Tuesday. He was right on time. We stood in the pantry and I told him what worked and what didn't and shared my ideas. He provided some additional ideas that I hadn't thought of and that ended up being perfect for our needs. Usually he does a design on the spot on his laptop, but our pantry would involve some custom work so he took his measurements and left. He emailed me two design options and pricing the next day--and apologized for the delay(!). I also received a handwritten card in the mail thanking me for the meeting and saying how much he liked my dogs. He thought they could do the installation in about two weeks, but there was a week delay from the supplier. Then Tim's installer was supposed to do the installation on a Wednesday. We emptied out the pantry the night before in preparation. Tim called that morning to apologize and say that his installer was sick. He was very apologetic and offered to come on the weekend and do it himself. So Saturday morning he showed up exactly on time again and did all the work himself in less than 4 hours. I was amazed by the quick transformation! And as a bonus, he actually left the pantry CLEANER than it was when he started.
Description of Work: We have a small room off our kitchen that is half laundry room and half pantry. Our problem was with the pantry side. Half of it had very narrow shelves that were barely two cans of food deep--we had to stagger all but the smallest cans. If we tried to stock up too much, things ended up being balanced precariously. On the other half of the pantry there were 5 shallow drawers that were long and wide. The contents of the drawers ended up being a mess because they were just too big. Everything fell over and got mixed up. The drawers were made of heavy MDF and mounted poorly with plastic brackets attached to two-by-fours, with shims stuck behind the wood in a few places. In the 5 years we've lived in this house, the drawers repeatedly fell off or got stuck in their tracks. We tried fixing them ourselves but there were a couple drawers that we stopped pulling out because they were just too precarious. The shelves were painted white but were showing their age and the drawers were white. Closet Tailors came up with a design with much deeper shelves on the left. On the right we decided on 4 drawers, just as deep but much narrower, with more shelves taking up the remaining width. The shelves are MDF with a maple veneer, and the drawers are real maple--strong but lightweight. The 2x4's are gone! Everything is easier to find and to access, plus I was able to move more stuff into the pantry than we had in there before. We keep the pantry door open most of the time because the dog dishes are in there too, so it was important to me that it look good. And does it ever! Sometimes I just stand in there admiring the work.

+ -1 moreOur wall-mounted wire closet system collapsed, so we sought out designs and estimates from several vendors. Tim Woollen was, by far, the most knowledgeable and responsive. Tim's suggested design ideas were far better than our ideas, and far better than those suggested by his competition. Tim brought his computer to our home to create design alternatives, make suggestions and changes in real time and on site. Tim's drawings were the most dynamic, detailed and easy to understand of the vendors we contacted. A nice touch, Tim even provided a couple of portable wardrobes for us to hang our clothing on while the closet project was being done. We hired another person to fill the holes in the walls and repaint the closet prior to the install. Tim stayed in contact and kept us up to date as to the schedule of his receiving the materials, which arrived within the time frame he estimated. Tim and his installer arrived on the day scheduled and completed the job on the same day. They left the work area clean and neat. The installation appears to be done well and is more attractive and functional than we had even hoped. Tim is a closet design professional as his design provided more usable space, while actually making our closet feel more open and roomy when completed. There is way more to closet design than we had realized. We now have more storage and more open space than previous.
