Description of Work: The amount spent is "$00.00" as this was warranty work. A little background, Prairie Power Center had developed a very poor reputation for service, such that a good number of people would go quite a distance to purchase and service both lawn, snow removal and related equipment from an alternative locations. As I understand, Prairie Power Center was purchased by the owners or Middleton Power Center, and are now known collectively as Power Centers of Madison. It took them a little while to perform the classic turn around, but it appears the new owners have succeeded in providing the levels of service and support one would expect from the lines of equipment they represent. Specifically, I have a snow blower, purchased from a another dealer during the time of the previous ownership of Prairie Power Center, that broke down. I decided to call to Prairie Power Center to see if rumored--positive--changes had really taken place. The phone was answered promptly, by a knowledgable, professional gentleman. He patiently walked me through gathering some model and serial number information (which I should have gatherd before my call) and diagnosed what was the most likely mechanical issue. He also volunteered that it was likely a faulty unit from a sub-supplier, and that the company was standing fully behind the affected units. The snow blower is an Ariens, for which this experience just reinforces my impression of Ariens as a high quality product from an outstanding organization. My Ariens snow blower if the envy of the neighborhood. My snowblower was picked up by a pleasant, professional technician the next business day, and delivered back to my home two business days later. Please note, I am sure such quick turn arounds cannot be done at the first snowfall when their service department is slammed by high volumes of people who had not done their preventive maintenance in advance, nor in the spring when that first lawn mowing hits. We desperately need a high quality sales / service center for lawn and snow equipment in this area, and it appears the new owners of Prairie Power Center are now providing that level of service.
