I hired this man to perform the above work. Unfortunately, a price was not put on paper. I thought I made myself clear that my benchmark was Home Depot's $5/ sq. ft. price for tile installation or about $225. The billed cost was $350 plus about $50 for mastic and grout, totaling nearly double my reference. The tile job was uncomplicated and straightforward requiring nothing but straight cuts. The work was good but the job did not require anything complex requiring premium pricing. The cost of installing the faucet was $50. I later disassembled the piece, properly seated the gasket to the sink, then reassembled the fixture. I did express my dissatisfaction at the billed price but as the price had not been specifically agreed upon prior to the work (he said he doesn't like to give precise estimates on older houses because something unforeseen so often arises), I paid him. I then discovered that the tile man had taken my personal Stanley tape measure and left his older battered one, the same model as mine but clearly in worse condition. I reported it but the tile man denied it and at this point I consider it theft of my personal property. In addition, there were smears of mastic on the molding and walls that were left for me to clean.
Description of Work: Tiled front entryway, installed kitchen sink faucet
