 + -1 moreWe filed a civil suit in Dane County Small Claims Court in April 2013 in the amount of $1559 + costs. On March 7, 2014, we were awarded a judgement in the amount of $1820 against Ron Hellenbrand and Hellenbrand and Sons Lansccaping of Verona, Inc., but we have not received any payments to date! We now realize that this company is being sued for large amounts of back taxes, so we do not expect to be paid the court mandated judjment amount. We had used Angie's List and the good reviews before we decided to contract with Hellenbrand and Sons. The company continued to have an active website for many months after our problems began.
Description of Work: Ron Hellenbrand (Hellenbrand & Sons Lanscaping of Verona, Inc.) signed a contract with us to complete a pond upgrade project in July 2012. We agreed to pay 50% at the beginning of the project and the remainder upon completion. After cashing or deposit check, Hellenbrand Landscaping did not begin any work and failed to communicate with us. Finally, in August 2012, Ron Hellenbrand sent a letter indicating that the work would not be completed and sent us three refund checks, totalling $925 by October 2012. No further re3fund checks were received.

 + -1 moreThey did a fantastic job, even spliced some plastic edging that was coming up on our existing landscaping (they were not the folks that originally installed it). They also topped off some other areas for us that had gotten a bit out of control with weeds and such. I have a rain barrel in the area where they were putting down rocks. They moved it, put rocks under, rebuilt my brick platform, and reinstalled the barrel (and did a better job than I had). This was our second experience with Hellenbrand Landscaping. They cleared out old landscaping in front of our home about 7 years ago and put down rocks and plastic edging. That still looks great and we had such a good experience with them that we called them back for this job. They are my go-to company for landscaping.
Description of Work: We've just added a sunroom to our home. They matched the existing landscaping (rocks and plastic edging) around the new construction. I also had them put rocks and plastic edging around 4 of our trees.

Description of Work: They ground a large tree stump, regraded front yard and seeded it after it had been dug up to replace a sewer pipe. They also replaced the rock around the front, side and back of home and removed plantings around mailbox, side of garage and seeded. Plants in back were also removed but not seeded yet because we have dogs don't want it reseeded til front grass has grown in well.
