Jesse Myer was contracted to install a new roof on a commercial property. This included removing and disposing of existing roofing materials - shingles. I provided all of the new materials, Jesse was to provide labor and disposal only. The property is a business, with frequent traffic of customers, so the time-frame of the work was important. I was guaranteed the work would be started and completed within a 5 day period. I paid half down on a $14,000.00 agreement. After 3 days, I became concerned that only 25% of the project was complete, and I had not seen Jesse on the roof at all. The laborers were hispanics with very limited english, and difficult to communicate with. The 4th day, I called Jesse - and his phone was disconnected. I could not reach him at all, and the work was not at all on schedule. 3 days later, a man called me looking for Jesse. It was the supervisor of the roofing crew. Jesse had subcontracted them to do the work, had not paid them, and was unreachable. I was given the impression that the roof would be left unfinished if they were not paid. There was a dump trailer in the parking lot full of debris (shingles, nails, scraps, etc) , about 3,000 lbs., that needed to be hauled away and disposed of as well. During the night, someone came and dumped the debris from the trailer in a pile in the center of the parking lot, and took the trailer away. This was another contractor that Jesse Myers, or Environmental Edge, had rented the trailer from and not paid. I had to spend 3 hours in the cold and rain covering the debris with tarps, surrounding it with emergency cones and caution tape, and securing the area. This is the front parking lot of a business, and the debris is comprised of nails, sharp metal scraps, and other dangerous materials. I had to hire another crew to come in and dispose of the debris on an emergency basis, at a cost of $1,000.00. I had to pay the roof crew the remaining balance that Jesse hadn't received in advance in order for them to finish the roof. I had to contract a different crew to repair leaks in the following weeks, despite a "10 Year Workmanship Warranty" given by Jesse. I was, and still am unable to reach him. The work took 3 times longer than was agreed, was shoddy, and cost me an extra $3,000.00. The surprise appearance of a 6 foot high by 20 foot long pile of nails, sharp metal, shingles, and other debris in the parking lot of the business one weekday morning was the most horrible construction experience, as a business owner, that I could imagine.
Description of Work: Jesse Myer, Environmental Edge, was contracted to reroof a 22,000 square foot shingle roof on a business, with me supplying materials and him supplying installation labor and waste disposal. He subcontracted the work to a different crew after collecting $7,000.00 down. He abandoned the job halfway through, didn't pay his crew at all, didn't pay the contractor he rented the dump-trailers from (for debris), who then came in the night and dumped tons of roofing debris in the parking lot of the business (job-site) while taking their trailers away. The roof took 3 times longer than agreed upon, and leaked in several spots. Jesse vanished with the down-payment, and wouldn't support his workmanship warranty (he was unreachable, phone disconnected), causing me to hire another crew to repair the leaks. I was called dozens of times by angry hispanic roofers trying to reach Jesse, because he owed them $8,400.00 for their work, and was avoiding them. I had to pay these roofers in order for them to finish installing the roof. This con-man is as bad as they come, and is every homeowner's nightmare when hiring for construction or remodeling.

Jesse was very assessable and responsive. The price was very reasonable. We had a leak and he assured me that the roof would be complete in two days and it was. The weather cooperated at 45 degrees. I now have peace of mind, thanks Jesse.
Description of Work: Replaced shingles on roof of our entire house and two car attached garage.

Started out ok. At the time the basic roofing was near completion problems started. Myers convinced me to pay final amount, paid in full. He then vanished from the job sight. Had not completed shingling, had not installed two solar tubes ( he has them in his possession, paid for by me), did not install new perimeter edging or gutters as stated in proposal. Phone has been disconnected, no response to emails. I have retained an attorney, reported Myers to the DOA and notified Energy Star, who he has identified as a partner. Upon checking Circuit Court records there are many implications against this individual.
