Northstar does the mold remediation for the floor, wall, and built in furniture themselves, and they do it very well. They have the tools to tell them which portions of the wall have been affected and which parts haven't. While doing the microbial removal and remediation they put up a plastic curtain and maintained negagtive pressure in the affected area of the room to make sure no mold escaped to go elsewhere. We discovered the problem on the night of July 24th and they were in the next day; we saw no reason to rush as the rain had stopped the day before and the problem wasn't getting worse. They removed the carpet and pad that day and determined the extent of the damage. My wife and I elected to move the furniture and books out of the room so that they could come back the next day and remove the built in bookcases and the portions of the sheet rock and insulation which revealed water damage. They then applied a microbial solution to the floor and exposed foundation and wall studs. We then went into a hold pattern for 3 weeks until a masonry contractor could be located. I do not hold this against them as I was trying hard to find a mason as well and they were just all busy. They succeeded in locating a masonry contractor and he did an excellent job in removing the window and installing glass block. A couple weeks ago, I also had them find a gutter contractor, because I wanted to explore the concept that perhaps there were gutter issues contributing to the surface water infiltration. Once the glass blocks were in place, the sent a plasterer out to install the installation and sheetrock removed during the cleaning and remediation process. The plasterer was completely successful in matching the plaster style on the new sheetrock to the style in the unaffected portions in the room. After waiting sufficient time to make sure the plaster was completely dry, they came in and painted the new plaster. My wife was pleased that the new paint was a match to the paint in the unaffected area. Finally, after allowing time for paint to dry and perhaps some extra days due to the crush of business that they were experiencing, Northstar completed the project by putting the built in bookcases back in place and putting in new floor trim. The two remaining portions of the project are the gutter work and the rug. While, Northstar located these contractors, we elected to deal with these contractors directly and their costs are not included in the cost, above. We also elected to work directly with the masonry contractor and his cost is also not included in the cost above.

Called last week for cleaning service. Got on schedule for this week. Cleaning of approx 1500sq took 2 hours. 2 people working and both were great.
