We were really happy with the work, they turned out beautifully. We have done a fair amount of wood refinishing ourselves, DIY, and we could never have done this work as well on our own. There were a lot of fine details, doorways, curved parts of the stairs, some gaps in the stair treads, some new door thresholds that had to fit around existing moldings. It was all very professionally done. We also relied on Tom to help select colors that fit the period of the house and matched the existing woodwork and floors. Really knocked it out of the park.

I received a prompt response to my request for an estimate, his schedule for doing the estimate was extremely flexible, and he showed up on time! Tom was very informative about the type of wood floors we had (maple) and the fact that they don't stain well, as well as giving us an idea of what to expect (how long it will take, how soon you can put things back, etc.) He also gave a thorough explanation of types of sealant. I almost didn't need to have done any research before hand. And the estimate itself was extremely reasonable. On to the actual work: Once again, he showed up on time and kept us in the loop on what would happen, when and how long it would take. He's been very respectful and except for the sanding noise I've barely been aware that they're here. I've been able to work from home in the next room without feeling distracted. As for the end result, we keep opening the doors to gawk and say "THIS is our floor? Carpet schmarpet!" We chose to skip staining and went with the water-based sealant which doesn't amber as much as the oil-based, and the satin (non-shiny) finish. We couldn't be happier with our choice of Bodanske Wood Flooring, and when the time came to do two more rooms, I never considered hiring anyone else.
