Description of Work: I had my chimney cleaned. I was told that chimney needed extra cleaning with chains to remove creosote and that would cost an extra 200 dollars. I said I would do it next time. The 1-2 years later I made an appointment for another chimney cleaning. A day before the work was to be done they called me up and said they would not be able to clean my chimney because last time I used there service I did not have the more extensive cleaning done. I said go ahead and do it now. They still refused to come. I hired Zim's Chimney to come clean my chimney (did a good job) and was told that mortar was missing from top tiles and that I should not use fireplace until I had it inspected. They charged less than $200 for cleaning and only $25 for the chain cleaning (that Great American Chimney wanted $200). I called Great American Chimney to request an inspection and they never returned my call. I still don't know what was going on with this company. I suspect it had something to do with liability. But they would not be honest with me and tell me what was really going on. I would not use this company again.

Description of Work: This company advertises as "the fireplace folks", and deserves it. We had them tear down our failing fireplace and rebuild it completely from the ground up. The work was well done, on-time and as promised. We were so satisfied that they will soon install a gas-burning stove to heat our 3-season room. Can't recommend them highly enough!
