Had to wait a couple weeks due to cold weather, but, workers were prompt, very nice, not-intrusive, as much as possible, and did a very good job of cleanup.

The guys from FoamTech just left our house after finishing an insulation project on the coldest day so far this winter and am I thankful for the job they did! When we originally contacted them it was believed the job would be finished in September, but they had a very large project weigh them down until now. That was rather disappointing, but now that the project is done we'll just forget about the delay. The guys who installed the insulation were very polite. They answered my questions, cleaned up after themselves, and even shoveled some snow for me! The holes they cut in the walls were nice, uniform, and clean. The foam plugs look like they won't be too hard to plaster over. The best part was watching over their shoulders as they used the "gun" to check the wall temperatures after they finished putting in the insulation. It was amazing to see wall temps in the upper 50's on walls that had just been insulated in an area of the house that receives little heat. Downstairs where we have good heat the walls were up to 70 degrees. I did a lot of prepping, moving furniture, taking down pictures, rolling up rugs, and covered with plastic and drop clothes. They guys hung plastic from ceiling to floor in order to keep the dust more localized and vacuumed before they left each day. Even so, I'm going to be dusting/vacuuming up dust for quite some time to come. Just be aware that that is coming! Overall very pleased with the work they did and appreciate all their patience, even when I got a bit testy.

They came on time, handled the job in one day, cleaned up well. The cost went up slightly from the estimate because they had to come back to vent one bathroom fan properly (discovered it vented into the attic rather than outside).

It went very well. The house is significantly more efficient. So much so that my L.P. gas supplier asked what I did to cut my L.P usage in half. the crew was very professional & made sure to address all areas of air leakage. They cleaned up after themselves & I feel I got everything I paid for. I've used them on other smaller projects at other properties I own with the same results. I will continue to recommend them & use them in the future.

I contacted Foam Tech and asked for an insulation bid on two areas of my house, the attic and the ceilings of three first-floor rooms I was remodeling. Their rep came out, we discussed the project, he measured the job and sent me a quote, which I accepted. The technicians came out and completed the attic portion of the project, and I thought "so far, so good." When I called to schedule the first floor portion of the project their rep told me, "Well, we used too much foam in your attic, so we'll need to charge you more for the first floor." This was very confusing, as it was the same rep who had come to my house, spoken to me about the project and took the measurements. I pointed out all this and asked that they put me on their schedule for the remainder of the project at their quoted price. I heard nothing back from Foam Tech. I called several times to schedule this work and no calls were returned. It became clear that they were stonewalling. So, I calculated the percentage of the quote represented by the attic and sent that payment to Foam Tech. So now, with Wisconsin experiencing record low temps, I'm scrambling to find an insulation contractor. To be very clear, the Foam Tech crew that came out for my attic was great. My only complaint is with the office staff that decided they were going to screw me on the pricing. P.S. I've since learned that Nick, the Foam Tech installer who came to my house and did such a nice job, has left the company.

Short version: FoamTech is wonderful, I feel like I have a new home. Payback should be 7 years or less. I own a 1926 brick home in New Glarus, WI. The insulation in my home before foam was a 3/4" thick pressed grass mat that looked like a waffle. That's it. The walls and 2nd floor ceiling only had this weird 90 year old waffle for insulation. The house is heated with hot water radiators with a gas boiler. My heating bills are atrocious, something like $300.00 a month during the coldest cold. The attic routinely was only about 20 degrees warmer than outside ambient, snow quickly melted off the roof, and icicles were enormous. In summer, the peak of the attic got to 140'F and seeped to the second floor. I met Foamtech at a building show in Madison back in '09, and I had their foam-backed business card banging around. I was re-introduced to them via Ganser Company when they did my roof. Prior bids by OTHER company: I wanted foam, as I wanted to eventually finish the attic, and foam has such a high R- and blockage of air infiltration, with only the 6 inch rafter depth to work with. I contacted one OTHER foam company. They were a nice couple, but super, super busy. Too busy to take care of me, it seems. They could have done my roof as well, so I had them bid for the roof as well as foam. THREE MONTHS later, I still didn't have a final bid. They took weeks to return a phone call or email, and by then, I had something new that changed the bid, and another month would go by. Fed up and disgusted, I started finding other roofers, and the roofing company I chose (Ganser Co.) recommended FoamTech. Errors: FoamTech came out, took measurements and pictures, and came in with a bid. The technicians had to alter the bid up, as there was mis-communication between the measuring tech and the roofing company and the bid-maker. The techs also determined there were portions of the attic they couldn't spray, but had to blow cellulose into the eaves, which dropped the bid price. All in all, the changes balanced out, and I'm not upset at all, and my home is still drastically warmer. FoamTech told me what to do to prepare for foam: when to call them to schedule (after the roof was done), to get the electrical work done before foam, to move everything 4' away from the basement perimeter ceiling for the box sill work, to get the walk-in closet torn down to studs, and get the areas to be foamed as free of debris (roofing grit, etc) as I could. I did all those things, and when the spray techs arrived, everything was ready. I took pictures of the wiring layouts, as closed-cell foam is difficult to work with, and I didn't want to be digging around blindly and hit something someday. I was on-site to walk through the job one more time, and pointed out areas to skip and we answered each-other's questions. The technician who did the spraying knew what he was doing handling the foam, the layering, and keeping track of the foam depth almost constantly. The team arrived as scheduled, kept their work area as clean as they could, and didn't waste any time. The studs are shaved clean, the blown cellulose is cleaned up. The difference in my home is ASTOUNDING. The furnace hardly fires up like it used to, there isn't a draft in the basement, the walk-in isn't an ice-box, the attic is only about 5 degrees cooler than the 2nd floor, and this attic has no heat, cooling, or ventilation. I used to feel cold tendrils dripping off the 2nd floor ceiling, now, it's comfortable. Snow actually stays on the roof now! I am ecstatic with closed-cell foam and I am 100% satisfied with FoamTech. If I ever need insulation in the future, I will use FoamTech.

I asked FoamTech to spray foam two ceilings and knee walls adjoining the ceilings. These walls contained a series of clerestory windows, including 4 that are motorized awning windows. They include rain sensors that close the windows when it rains. FoamTech sprayed the rain sensor wires so they ended up inside the house rather than outside (to sense rain). I explained the required placement of the rain sensor wires outside through wall "ports" cut for rafters to support the sensors. The wires bore tags explicitly indicating that they were to be placed outside. In addition, my electrician wrote instructions on the studs at the points of installation of the 4 sensor wires. When FoamTech was finished, the rain sensors were installed (and buried in foam) inside rather than outside for sensing rain. When I reported this problem, they made no effort to correct the error. Rather than fixing the mistake, they sent me a bill for the full amount of the contract. Fixing this mistake took me two afternoons removing the foam, excavating the wires, and rewiring. I charged FoamTech $150 for this job and deducted it from their bill. If you're looking for a company that can follow directions and responds promptly to mistakes, you will want to look for another outfit. Avoid FoamTech
