+ -1 moreThe employee showed up 15 minutes early (to my liking), and spent about an hour inspecting and tuning up my furnace. He asked when I had last changed the water panel in my humidifier, and when I responded "several years," he offered to replace mine with the spare I had on hand. He also walked me all the way through the process of how to do it, so that I could do it myself from now on. I was pleased that this was not an up-charge service. He also warned me about a problem common with my brand of furnace, of that age, that would likely be showing up sometime in the next ten years or so, and mentioned that the manufacturer offered cash towards a new furnace due to this acknowledged manufacturing defect. Overall a great experience.
Description of Work: Furnace Tune-Up/Inspection. Replaced water panel on humidifier and showed me how to do it myself next time.

+ -1 moreThe worker arrived early and was very personable and checked and cleaned the furnace and thermostat. Discussed changing the filter and we decided it should be changed as it was a year old and he had the correct size with him. This is a different system so he showed me how to do it. He also showed me the humidifyer - I didn't know there was one - and answered all my questions including about an auxiliary heating system in the basement. We're new to this area so all the info was invaluable. I bought a big deal for $69 and the additional sum paid was the cost of the filter.

+ -1 moreI bought a $69 "Big Deal" to have my furnace inspected. Shortly after calling to schedule the inspection my furnace quit. I called back and they scheduled me for immediate emergency service. They advised me that the service call was different than my inspection and would be an additional charge which was reasonable under the circumstances. Jeremy arrived on time and quickly found the problem, a clogged trap which he said would have been found and cleaned during the inspection that I would have received as part of the "Big Deal". He continued to inspect the furnace, using multiple tools to check various items, he told me that my capacitor probably should be replaced though I could probably continue to use it for another year. I decided to replace it and as he had the part in his truck he took care of it right then. When it came time to pay the bill he told me that even though this was an emergency service call the problem would have been solved by the "Big Deal" inspection and since I had that coupon he only charged me $36 for the capacitor. This was outstanding service! He could have easily charged me for the emergency service especially as it was after hours and we needed the heat. After this experience I will always use Clark Heating and Cooling for my HVAC needs. Great job guys!

He took TONS of time at the end of his day (didn't leave until 5:45 one day and 6 the second day) to explain things and show me how to set timers and such so that we could save money. Also gave an honest opinion about whether to replace or repair the air conditioning unit that had failed, and was not at all pushy. I feel that he did a great job - had to come back a second time when the part arrived for the furnace - and acted professionally both times. Even took the time to explain something a second time to my husband when he came in after he'd already explained it to me. Very patient and thorough.
Description of Work: We asked for a furnace inspection and repair. There was a water leak from under the furnace, and the fan was running constantly. They were both fixed after a return visit with a part.

Description of Work: The serviceman was punctual, friendly and got right to work in inspecting our 18 yr. old furnace and air conditioner. He explained why we need a new furnace because of its age and the look of the heat exchanger and bad contact points. The efficiency of both the air conditioner and furnace is very low. He seemed to be very knowledgable about the workings of a furnace and its life span. He also let me know about the rebate for the Carrier furnace having with a well recorded working deficiency.

He cleaned out a mouse nest and then talked through the levels of freon and that I was a little low so I might want to watch for a leak. Otherwise all looked good. He answered all my questions.

Description of Work: Because of the cooler weather during April and May and the rush once the hot weather returned, the service was postponed several times until August. Once the service was scheduled, Clark's arrived on time and did a complete service on the A/C system. They checked, lubed and cleaned the outside unit, and checked the furnace and filters on the forced air system inside.

+ -1 moreThe deal was $69 for a furnace "tune up". I only put tune up in quotes because I don't recall anything actually being adjusted or fixed. That said, the guy that came out did take my furnace completely apart, check out all the pieces for wear and whatnot, and carefully put it back together. He told me that though it is on the old side, things look OK now and would probably hold out for a while. I appreciated that it didn't seem like he was automatically trying to sell me on products or services. He seemed very knowledgable and had some good suggestions for improvements I could make in the future.

+ -1 moreThe job went Quick they had the parts in the truck. the service Tech was polite and efficient. Was in and out. No problems since.Class A Company. They have been my contractor for some time now all ways get the job done.
Description of Work: Air conditioner Went down on the 4th of July . It wasn't a big deal I just called Clark to get on the list for the next day. Within a half hour I was called back by the owner Kieth. I told him they did not have to come until Thursday or Friday We would be ok Knowing they Must be swamped this summer with all this heat. Keith agreed they had their hands full but wanted to come and fix that day, do to the temp. He also stated they were out on other calls any way. Two hours later they were their repaired the the system, And we were COOL!The service response was second to none. I will admit We are regular customers of Clark they do the installs and routine service. So I Guess that helps for Quick service when you call. Might be a lesson to some people, that routine service helps in more ways than one. Just aside note I was reading some of the comments And the Two F ratings sure seem to be unreasonable 1 am after the guy new he had problems for some time and didn't fix then, but waited to fix when it dies. Then call at 1 am and expect some one else to jump out of bed to fix. Is that really an emergency? If it was your furnace on a very cold night yeah. Oh well we all react different to our own situations.But i put no weight on that f rating. Just my opinion unreasonable request. My advise is Get on board with regular service to reduce the emergency, And if you do have one they will be glad to come ASAP.Give Keith and Clark heating a call they will treat you well.

I was instructed to leave a message and would be called back.They did not call back until late the next morning. I would not consider them to provide emergency service.

+ -1 moreI got a coupon for them from Angie's List. It was a good experience. HE came and he took apart the furnace and checked it for what ever it needed to be checked for. He made recommendations for what ever needed to be repaired. Actually there was nothing wrong with it. So he cleaned it replaced the filters and tubes or what ever just small maintenance. Then he did the same thing with the air conditioner. Again there wasn't anything that needed to be done at the moment other than the small maintenance. They referred to it as like a maintenance package. I plan on having him come back again.

He answered questions I had about the type of furnace filter I had been using and informed me of an optional upgrade kit for our air cleaner in case we were interested (very professional, did not try to sell me anything, just informed me and clearly explained). He performed all the required work and found that everything was in proper working order. What impressed me most was how willing he was to answer additional HVAC questions we had about our home. Very patient, thorough, and professional. I will continue to use Clark Heating & Cooling without hesitation. Very glad I gave them a try.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived a few minutes late, apologized for an earlier call he had to make. He spent about an hour inspecting all of the components of the a.c. system. He explained everything as he went along, which was very helpful. Along with washing the condensor coil, he also removed some branches that were in the way. Throughout he was very professional and polite, making sure that I understood everything he was doing.
Description of Work: I signed up for a specially priced service for an air conditioning check-up, which included checking the compressor, the coil, refrigerant, etc.

+ -1 moreWe are truly trying to use local contractors for the work on our home. Apparently this is a misguided effort on our part. Save yourself time and grief and get a contractor that's interested and shows up for the work. I suspect a lot of 'A' rated companies on Angie's list get a good deal of business be being 'A' rated and hence are busy. Unfortunately I suspect these same companies (in this category, anyway) blow a lot of people off - which probably doesn't get reported.
Description of Work: Second company I have contacted and attempted to schedule through Angie's list for installing some new ducting for exhaust fans and repairing an existing vent installation. Called on Monday (4/23) and was told to expect a return call from Keith on Tuesday (4/24). I explicitly asked if they were interested in this work and was told they were. Apparently, they were not. Moved down the 'list' and called RA Heating and A/C instead. They came out the same afternoon and scheduled a tech immediately the next morning. I suspect the lack of call-backs are pretty systemic for these service providers and few of them get reported on Angie's List. It would probably make this list more useful if people reported the lack of call-backs. So, I am being diligent and making my report here.
