Still waiting on a response ..........

When we got the original estimate they told us $1700 to $2700. We had just moved in 2 months earlier and made it clear that we didn't have extra money to spend therefore wanted as much reused and saved as possible (not to mention the eco-friendly aspect). I even spent hours digging up plants that I wanted to be sure they transplant. When it was all finished we received a bill for $3475.17 as the labor and materials used added up and I noticed many missing plants. They threw away plants they guessed might not make it. That wasn't the plan!! I dug them out because I wanted them put in regardless! They also informed me, when I called to complain, that they had to use newer materials for some of the project and that drove the cost up as well. AGAIN, not agreed upon! The upper limit of this project was supposed to be 2500 and I assumed that that would include the cost of newer materials if needed. The grass seed they spread was all over the place and not limited to the area of "lawn" we had hoped for. Lastly, they told me they would remove the black fabric under the soil (previous owner installed) and it was still there when we went to plant later. -Don't ever assume these guys are giving an accurate price! -Don't sign on with these guys unless you have a written and signed contract: it's my word against his.
