It wasn't very professional. He went up the ladder and came back down then said he would get back to me but never did. They could have just called me and said they weren't qualified to do that.

John was very polite had his crew out very quickly to give me a quote. Price was considerably lower than some of the other quotes. Once I made decision to go with John, his crew was out within 2 days to complete the job. Crew was courteous, professional and efficient. The work was completed in about 3 hours. My only concern about the quality is that the flashing tar goes up a third of the chimney on one side, and is clearly hiding some damaged bricks. I did call John about this, and he stated he would come out and review the work, which he did within a couple of days. He called me back and assured me the work was done properly and was structurally sound. He said to call him back if any problems develop in the future. Hopefully that will not need to occur. I have checked and not found any water seeping in to date , and sleep easier now knowing the work has been done.

The guys arrived ahead of the scheduled hour, were efficient, cleaned up nicely, and were out in half an hour.

Other well-rated companies wanted to charge me up to twice as much for the same work. It went well.

The repairs and interactions with the contractor went very poorly. The work from the estimate that appears to have been done properly were: installing the vent liner and cleaning the fireplace flue. I am currently having a lot of other repairs/work done to my home, and needed some masonry done to my porch. While the mason was here, he pointed out some repairs needed to my chimney that were supposed to have been done by Milwaukee Chimney-Roof. The "repair to the bricks" consisted of layering colored mortar over the existing bricks that were damaged, rather than actually repairing or replacing them. The ceiling cap was "fixed" with some clear caulk, although you could actually see right through the "seal" that was left open rather than repaired. In addition, the mortar joints were not repaired and water was still leaking into my daughter's bedroom. I called the contractor and asked for a $300 refund for the work that was done improperly. He did offer to "fix" the incorrectly completed "repairs," but I responded that since it wasn't done properly the first time, I didn't trust them to do it correctly a second time. He absolutely refused to give me any refund by saying "that's never going to happen." This company is unprofessional, either dishonest or inexperienced at giving accurate bids on reapirs needed, does low quality work and is rude. I would never hire them again, and would recommend no one else do so either. The mason I ended up hiring needed to repair and replace 12 courses of bricks on my chimney, and replace the cap. Now it doesn't leak.

I was pleased with the quote I received, considerably lower than the other 5 Angie's list companies I called. Since their price was so competative, I was a little concerned I wouldn't get what I hoped for. But their reviews reassured me I made the right choice. Though they arrived about 15 minutes late, they were professional, courteous and efficient about getting the job done quickly. They even showed me how to operate the damper on my fireplace since we had just purchased the home. They did a great job and I am very pleased and excited to finally know I would be safe to have a fire in my fireplace.

On time, 2 technicians, very friendly, very helpful, one showed me how the gas fireplace worked in the basement (new house for me), including giving me a tutorial and suggestions for maintenance - i was very appreciative of this because i was not sure if the thing even worked and was fearful to tinker with it (because it's fire)

Great, very professional. I set up the appointment 2 weeks ahead of time, due to my own time restraint issues. Jon, the President and Owner scheduled the original appointment, he called the day before to confirm time, then he called again the day of the appointment to say they were on their way. They were 5 minutes early - awesome. Worked quickly and professionally, identified the cause of a small leak and fixed it, thoroughly cleaned the entire chimney (and there was some pretty gross creosote in there!). Gave me some good advice on yearly upkeep. Cleaned up so completely and well that after they left you wouldn't have even known they were there except for the sparkling clean fireplace. Jon uses an industrial wet/dry vac to clean up all debris. I will definitely use again and would highly recommend.

They were quick, responsive, and professional, making this the easiest home maintenance experience I've had. They sent someone over the very next day and had the chimney cap installed on our 3-story house in about 30 minutes. They also had the best price and were the most low maintenance to work with of all the contractors I called. I'd recommend them without reservation and use them again.

The heavy rains of July 2010 brought rainwater down the chimney into the basement of my house. I called this company as it is highly rated on Angie's List. Someone came within a day or two to assess the damage, tell me what needed to be done, and give me a quote for the work. The job was done by two workers 2 or 3 days later. They completed the job in an efficient and neat manner. A few days after the job was done, I noticed that the door at the base of the chimneyy, in the basement, was bulging out. I opened it partway and a large amount of debris cascaded onto the floor. I called the company and was told that as soon as any workmen were in the area they would come by and clean out the debris. When the workmen returned about a week later they filled a 5-gallon gucket with debris.

I had two furnaces and two water heaters venting up the chimney on my 1926 property. I think it couldn’t handle the venting properly and that caused us some problems. That’s when I decided to put in two furnaces. I only needed the chimney for the two water heaters. They did a very good job. In the meantime, they said that the chimney wouldn’t accommodate the two furnaces. They told me to replace both the furnaces instead of replacing one. The original estimate was $1070, but they reduced the price later on when I told them that I put in two furnaces instead of one. It included cement top, tuck point, acid washing of the chimney, installation of the gas vents and chimney liner system. They reduced the bill by $375 when they took off the two furnaces out of the chimney venting. They were great. I didn’t even know that they did the work. They said that it was all done and told me to let them know when I got my furnaces so that they could hook it up. I called them back and told them. So they came back and hooked up the water heaters. They did all the outside work first. The acid washing and tuckpointing was done earlier. I would use their services in the future too.

We used them based on the list and the recommendations. They did a very good job at a very good price. Their work was of high quality. I have called them to schedule for next year already.

The two employees that came to my home were prompt. They called ahead to let me know they were on their way and would arrive shortly. They were neat, quick and friendly. When I posed questions regarding my wood burning stove they had answers. In fact, because of their advice, I recently had one of the best and warmest fires to date in my home without burning a great deal of wood. A few days after their cleaning I had an issue of leaking during a very violent rainstorm. I called the owner of the company who gave me several reasons for the drip. He promised to send out his employees after one of their engagements by the end of the week, which was done. The problem was quickly rectified and they considered the service as part of my rendered service, something I did not expect, but found pleasantly surprising. I had a wonderful experience with this company and my husband and I will be engaging their services in the near future for work on business properties. I would definitely recommend their services.

Saw broken cable lying in fireplace. Called Milwaukee Chimney for service yesterday. They came the first thing this morning. Very polite, efficient, and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend them to others.

No frills and very quick. Took the installer about 30 minutes. 1 guy at base of chimney in my basement and one guy on roof. Very professional. I'd recommend to a friend.

Scheduled appt approx 1 week beforehand. I did get a call on the day of appt. to notify me that employees were running a bit behind. They arrived about 2 hours late, which was not an issue for me that day. Kevin and another employee were very courteous and professional. They indicated that the flue was due for cleaning, so I should stick with my schedule of every other year cleanings. They left no mess behind, and were quick about their work.
