+ -1 moreThe two people who came out did a good job and were very nice. I don't think they were the proprietor; I think they were employees. I thought their charges were good and reasonable. They were pretty timely, but were a little later than they said, but it did not bother me. It was not unreasonable at all. They cleaned up very nicely after themselves and did a nice job.

+ -1 moreContacted Milwaukee Chimney Contractors to inquire about tuck ponting and the replacement of the upper most clay liners(s) on my 1952 built Cape Cod home chimney. I left a message and John returned the call within the hour. John was very professional and seemed very honest and genuine in my opinion. I explained my current needs and he promptly advised me he is not doing this type of repair work at this time as he is so busy with insurance work doing mostly installing the prefabricated replacement liners work. He referred me to A-1 Chimney. I have not contacted A-1 to date or located another service to do the work at this time.

+ 0 moreTerrific experience with this company. I called on 7/1 to request a quote to fix a hole by my chimney. John was actually on a roof when I called and he asked me to call back and leave a voice message with my contact information. I did and he sent a couple of guys to my house the next day. They were able to repair the hole immediately for $50 which was terrific. I will certainly recommend Milwaukee Chimney and use them again.

+ 0 moreEarlier this year, water was coming down my exposed chimney in my kitchen. A different company told me it was from worn chimney flashing on the roof. They did this work, charged me for it but only afterward said that the leaking was likely from broken flue tiles allowing water to leach through the chimney. John from Milwaukee Chimney Contractors came by on the very same day I first called them and confirmed it was from the broken flue tiles immediately just by looking at the water stains on the chimney. I received an estimate “on the spot” and they were at my house the next day! The work was completed in 2 and and frac12; hours and John explained what they were doing and why as I watched the processes unfold. With great service, fair pricing and a pleasure to deal with, I highly recommend this company for any chimney needs.

Description of Work: workers arrived on time and were very courteous and professional, after explaining the job step by step while showing me pictures on a brochure, they installed a new chimney liner and cap. they cleaned up after they were done and the whole job only took about 30-40 minutes. I was extremely happy that they never tried to sell me on having any extra unnessesary work done. They were very reasonable and I would definitely recommend this company to family or neighbors.

+ 0 moreThey were friendly and I could tell by our phone conversation that they wouldn't try to sell me something I didn't need (all I wanted was a cleaning) They were a little late, but the owner made sure to check with me that everything went fine. They brought two guys and were done in under 45min (and were $100+ less than the other guys) I'm happy and can't wait to have a fire tomorrow.

+ -1 moreI contacted Milwaukee Fireplace because they were recommended by my furnace guy. I had my chimney swept the previous week by another company and they recommended I have the liner installed because of deterioration in my flue that was used to vent my 2 water heaters. The price quoted by the previous company was $2,700 for a stainless steel liner and chimney crown work. Needless to say I wanted a second opinion. Milwaukee Fireplace came out and installed an aluminum liner in less than an hour at a total cost of $350. I asked them about the condition of the crown and they said they caulked a small crack with silicone. They were professional and did great work and saved me over 2 grand. I appeciated their honesty and asked them how another company could quote such a high price. They said many chimney companies use scare tactics to get people to do work they don't need. Thank god I called them. I would certainly recommend them and will use them the next time my chimney needs sweeping.

+ -1 moreLast yearI received astronomically high quotes for a new liner and other various and quot;necessaryand quot; repairs. I decided to simply not use the fireplace. Decided to give it another shot this year. Emailed John from Milwaukee Chimney and promptly got a response the next day and was able to a**** the chimney within 2 days. His assessment: Nothing needed to be done. The chimney was in very good condition. He checked the boiler and found a brittle exhaust pipe that needed to be replaced. Replaced it on the spot and found it was nearly clogged with whatever exhaust pipe get clogged with.

+ -1 moreThe service was great. My appointment was set between 10AM-11AM and the guys arrived right at 10AM. They got to work immediately informing me that the chimney must have been cleaned just before we bought the house because it wasn't very dirty. They cleaned the chimney very quickly but carefully and there was no mess at all. They also informed me about a bad chase cover and suggested that I contact a siding company ASAP to have it fixed to prevent decay. All in all it was a very efficient and thorough service at a great price.
Description of Work: We purchased our home three years ago and had no idea if our chimney had been cleaned previously. We had not used the chimney much but wanted it cleaned and checked out before we used it this year.

We chose this company because it was highly rated on Angie's List and was HALF the price of another service we called. John and his crew arrived 15 minutes early. They we efficient and neat. I had no cleanup to do afterward. John was pleasant and helpful in pointing out some other things that we should take care of. I would definitely recommend him.

They cleaned up and advised me on some issues with the brick in the firebox and convinced me I did NOT need an expensive tuckpoint job but that I could repair the issues myself. Great job!

+ 1 moreI spoke with John Ossoinik after hours one evening and he was incredibly helpful in giving me advice over the phone on chimney repair. After getting a quote from another company I gave him a call and one of his people came right out and gave me a very competitive estimate. Also gave me some good advice on what would look best. It turned out he could save my chimney contractor some costs on the liner as well as do the chimney repair I needed so I called MCC to do both jobs. They were out a few days later and completed the job in the morning. I just got up on the roof to take a look today. Very nice work. Neat mortar lines and they managed to match my bricks perfectly on the few they needed to replace. Acid washed the chimney so it looks like new. Cleaned up even on the roof where you probably wouldn't notice. Everyone I worked with was very knowledgable, pleasant and professional.
Description of Work: I needed the chimney lined in preparation for moving to a high efficiency furnace. The chimney also need some exterior work including cap repair, new chimney pots, rain guards and tuck-pointing of the top 6 or 7 courses. Old ducting at the bottom of the chimney needed to be removed and the hole patched with concrete.

+ -1 morePrice was 1/3 of the price of Mr. Chimney and Smoke Stacks. Smoke Stacks wanted $1257.46 for same service, and Mr. Chimney wanted something in the same ballpark. The work took about an hour from the time they did the installation, I paid them, and they left. Both workers were extremely polite, answered all of my questions. I asked the owner why his competition charges so much more, and he said he has no idea why - it absolutely shouldn't cost as much as they are charging! I am extremely happy with this company and Angies List - I've saved tons of money using this website!

Description of Work: We just purchased a new home, and on the inspection, we were told that our flashing was rocking on the roof, and that there was a possible crack on the inside of the chimney. The concern was that this could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning, since our furnace and hot water heater exhaust run out of the chimney. I called for Milwaukee Chimney Contractors after seeing their recommendations on Angie's List. We scheduled a day to meet for the estimate, but about 2 hours after I called, John called me back and was able to do the estimate that day without my having to be there! We set up the date for the actual repair, and he told me it would take 3-4 hours. However, it took less than 2, and the men were already working on the property before I got there to meet them! The workers took down the flashing and replaced it with an aluminum pipe. They also put new shingles down where the old flashing was, and it matched our current roof perfectly. On the inside, they re-routed the furnace and hot water heater exhaust pipes so that it would leave more efficiently, and they patched up "old" holes. They showed me the work they did, and they said it in a way for me to understand. They also cleaned up the work area, so it looks as if no one was even there! I would highly recommend this company for anyone needing chimney repair. John and his staff were not only prompt and professional, but they were so kind and personable. Way to go on a job well done! :)

+ 0 moreAfter being stood up by another contractor I contacted this company. He came out within days for the estimate, was polite and professional and discussed what work was needed on my chimney. My house is over 100 years old and often contractors try and talk me into an expessive repair but this was not the case here. Due to the dropping tempertures a crew came the next day and completed the job. They also fixed a few loose shingles while they were on the roof. I would definitely use them in future.
