The first half of the project went fairly well. The schedule was held up a few times because of weather, nothing too severe. Once the framing was completed and we transitioned into the finishing portion, this is when things began to go astray. The drywall crew didn't seal all the holes btw levels and they left gaps in the plastic sheeting, causing the inspector 3 separate trips before he approved the drywall to be hung. And now with a year and half gone by, and a few improvement projects under my belt, I have seen up close the poor craftsmanship of said drywallers. All the corners are at least 1/4" thicker than than the rest of the wall, it seems they forgot to sand the corners along with the seams! Not that the seams are all that flat either. The worst case is the bathroom tub surround. You can easily see how crooked the corner is by the way tile butts up to the molding. The tile is square, the molding is not even close. Then there is the painting. The first problem we encountered was the day the painting was completed. We asked for a nice warm brown to be applied to the walls, which was properly applied and looked great. The problem was, they painted every surface the same exact color, including the ceiling! Who paints the same color brown on the ceiling as the walls?Well, long story shortened, it was an extra to paint the ceiling white. Crazy. There were numerous other minor issues which don't need to be reviewed here, mostly because they were things that I feel could just be part of any normal construction project. More than any of these somewhat minor offences was the day we signed the final papers for the final draw for the the builder as we were taking occupancy. There were still things that needed to be fixed, some minor touch-ups and such, that under normal circumstances, we would have had them complete before we signed the papers. Unfortunately for us, we were expecting the movers in less than 12 hours and we had no choice but to sign right then and there and they knew it. From that point on they were less than ambitious when it came fixing these things. Most of them never got completed to our satisfaction, and the few that did took multiple calls to arrange. After all the time and effort and finances put forth to get the project done, once they had their money, they stopped caring about their product. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. I would not recommend anybody use this builder. You can only build a house from the ground up once.
