After signing the contract and paying half down, this contractor disappeared. Finally, I left a message asking for a refund if he did not intend to do the work. He called and promised to begin soon. He then rescheduled five times, finally showed up working out of the back of a car (not the truck he had come and provided the estimate in) with no professional grade tools or materials, and proceeded to put what could barely be considered a roof onto my home's porch roof. Upon returning home from work, I found the job clearly unfinished, including dangling materials off my roof, cans of adhesive outside, and a large pile of garbage and debris on my lawn. I waited days, then weeks for the contractor's return to complete the work. He never did. Phone calls went unanswered. Four months later, I ran into someone who had recommended him, and suggested she attempt to get in touch. He called me shortly thereafter, stating he 'completely forgot' that he left my roof unfinished. I gave him one final opportunity to come finish the job, refund me, or pay another company of my choosing to complete the work, which must be redone. He apologized and opted to come and redo the work properly, and has not shown up or called since. That was over a month ago. I waited this long to review the contractor because I gave him the benefit of doubt, where it was not deserved. I have now had to hire a lawyer to guide me through what happens next, as I have resultant water damages to my home.

Sean came out and measured the roof. We talked a bit about roofing in general and he seemed like a very nice approachable guy. After measuring my roof in the morning he came back a few hours later and handed me my quote (most people e-mailed them back to me). The quote was in the mid range, however... in addition to the re-roof he also noted some rot I had (and the quote included replacing that) on other nearby parts of the home, he also looked at my second roof (a rubber roof) and included recaulking that. Finally the quote included algae resistant shingles (since I have an algae issue) as well as just building the roof to better than code specs. For me who wants this to be the last time I have to re-roof my home it was nearly ideal. Out of the five quotes I received, this one was a close second for all the attention to detail, the friendliness, and the personal touch of coming to my home to deliver the quote.
