HORVAT'S MOVING

Move went well once set up. Staff was attentive and ensured neither the pool table nor the house was damaged during the move. The movers were on time and very attentive. There services are limited to local moves. I would use them again if I had another move.

These movers were hired because we heard they were the cheapest in town. Little did we know they are scam artists. They arrived four hours late... we had to call several times and were told they were, "going to grab something to eat." after which "they would swing by." After a two hour lunch they finally showed. We hired them to move one couch, one book case, a coffee table, small drafting table, and a small kitchen table... I have a very bad back, my fiancée and I do not own a truck, we had to move during the week, so we had to hire movers. We didn't have that much furniture... Plus they were just moving all of this about three miles down the road. The coffee table took them about two minutes to load- it's very fragile (glass top) so I was feeling good things would move quickly for the rest of the items... Boy was I wrong!!! It took them almost three hours to move five items!!! Three miles down the road!! Plus we had an elevator!! It was obvious what they were doing... They would go downstairs with one box and stay by the truck for long periods of time!!!! Not to mention they bent the frame of my drafting table so badly (they took it apart on their own when I wanted it moved in tact... I was busy packing other things and didn't think I had to babysit incompetent movers while they did their own "jobs") my drafting table wobbles and has a big chunk of wood where the brace was nearly ripped out of it. (I was livid) When they were finally through and after voicing our disappointment and telling them how we now had to miss a WHOLE day of work which meant missing one day of pay because they were late and moved like turtles... They told us we owed them over $220... I wasn't expecting to pay more than $100 for movers... I couldn't believe it but I just wanted these guys out of my house IMMEDIATELY!!! When they finally left I started realizing how wrong they were and saw the damage to my drafting table- I called their office and their secretary answered (who cooncidently is the movers wife) she told me that she would call him and have him call me... Yeah right he got his check he never called. I should've stopped payment but didn't... Nobody cared about the damage to my furniture (they were the ones to disensemble it...) i called his wife FIVE more times always with the same "I'll give him the message." This is a bad company. When you call it sounds good- expect them to quote you a GREAT time and price but they will definitely show up HOURS late and also charge quadruple what you expect. the SAME thing happened to my fiancee's mother. BEWARE!!!!!
